¹² And the harpe and viole, timbrel, and pipe, and wine are in their feastes: but they regard not the worke of the Lord, neither consider the worke of his handes.

²⁷ Wherfore diddest thou flie so secretly and steale away from me, and diddest not tel me, that I might haue sent thee foorth with mirth and with songs, with timbrel and with harpe?

¹¹ They send forth their children like sheepe, and their sonnes dance. ¹² They take the tabret and harpe, and reioyce in the sound of the organs. ¹³ They spend their dayes in wealth, and suddenly they go downe to the graue. ¹⁴ They say also vnto God, Depart from vs: for we desire not the knowledge of thy wayes.

²⁷ Because they haue turned backe from him, and would not consider all his wayes:

⁵ For they regarde not the woorkes of the Lord, nor the operation of his handes: therefore breake them downe, and builde them not vp.

⁵ O Lord, how glorious are thy workes! and thy thoughtes are very deepe. ⁶ An vnwise man knoweth it not, and a foole doeth not vnderstand this,

¹⁹ Which say, Let him make speede: let him hasten his worke, that wee may see it: and let the counsell of the holy one of Israel draw neere and come, that we may knowe it.

¹³ And beholde, ioy and gladnes, slaying oxen and killing sheepe, eating flesh, and drinking wine, eating and drinking: for to morowe we shall die.

¹ King Belshazzar made a great feast to a thousand of his princes, and dranke wine before the thousand. ² And Belshazzar whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring him the golden and siluer vessels, which his father Nebuchad-nezzar had brought from the Temple in Ierusalem, that the King and his princes, his wiues, and his concubines might drinke therein. ³ Then were brought the golden vessels, that were taken out of the Temple of the Lords house at Ierusalem, and the King and his princes, his wiues and his concubines dranke in them. ⁴ They drunke wine and praysed the gods of golde, and of siluer, of brasse, of yron, of wood and of stone.

²³ But hast lift thy selfe vp against the Lord of heauen, and they haue brought the vessels of his House before thee, and thou and thy princes, thy wiues and thy concubines haue drunke wine in them, and thou hast praysed the gods of siluer and golde, of brasse, yron, wood and stone, which neither see, neither heare, nor vnderstand: and the God in whose hand thy breath is and all thy wayes, him hast thou not glorified.

¹⁰ For they shall eate, and not haue ynough: they shall commit adulterie, and shall not increase, because they haue left off to take heede to ye Lord. ¹¹ Whoredome, and wine, and newe wine take away their heart.

⁴ They lie vpon beddes of yuorie, and stretch themselues vpon their beddes, and eate the lambes of the flocke, and the calues out of the stall. ⁵ They sing to the sounde of the viole: they inuent to themselues instruments of musike like Dauid. ⁶ They drinke wine in bowles, and anoynt themselues with the chiefe ointments, but no man is sory for the affliction of Ioseph.

¹⁹ There was a certaine riche man, which was clothed in purple and fine linnen, and fared well and delicately euery day.

¹² These are rockes in your feasts of charitie when they feast with you, without al feare, feeding themselues: cloudes they are without water, caried about of windes, corrupt trees and without fruit, twise dead, and plucked vp by ye rootes.
