⁶ For to euery purpose there is a time and iudgement, because the miserie of man is great vpon him.

¹ To all things there is an appointed time, and a time to euery purpose vnder the heauen.

¹¹ He hath made euery thing beautifull in his time: also he hath set the worlde in their heart, yet can not man finde out the worke that God hath wrought from the beginning euen to the end.

¹⁷ I thought in mine heart, God wil iudge the iust and the wicked: for time is there for euery purpose and for euery worke.

¹³ Wisedome is good with an inheritance, and excellent to them that see the sunne. ¹⁴ For man shall rest in the shadowe of wisedome, and in the shadowe of siluer: but the excellencie of the knowledge of wisedome giueth life to the possessers thereof.

⁹ Reioyce, O yong man, in thy youth, and let thine heart cheere thee in the dayes of thy youth: and walke in the waies of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but knowe that for all these things, God wil bring thee to iudgement.

¹¹ Woe be to the wicked, it shalbe euill with him: for the reward of his handes shalbe giuen him. ¹² Children are extortioners of my people, and women haue rule ouer them: O my people, they that leade thee, cause thee to erre, and destroy the way of thy paths. ¹³ The Lord standeth vp to pleade, yea, hee standeth to iudge the people. ¹⁴ The Lord shall enter into iudgement with the Ancients of his people and the princes thereof: for ye haue eaten vp the vineyarde: the spoyle of the poore is in your houses.

¹² And in that day did the Lord God of hosts call vnto weeping and mourning, and to baldnes and girding with sackecloth. ¹³ And beholde, ioy and gladnes, slaying oxen and killing sheepe, eating flesh, and drinking wine, eating and drinking: for to morowe we shall die. ¹⁴ And it was declared in ye eares of the Lord of hostes. Surely this iniquitie shall not be purged from you, til ye die, saith the Lord God of hostes.

²⁵ When the good man of the house is risen vp, and hath shut to the doore, and ye begin to stand without, and to knocke at the doore, saying, Lord, Lord, open to vs, and he shall answere and say vnto you, I know you not whence ye are,

²⁶ And as it was in the dayes of Noe, so shall it be in the dayes of the Sonne of man. ²⁷ They ate, they dranke, they married wiues, and gaue in marriage vnto the day that Noe went into the Arke: and the flood came, and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Likewise also, as it was in the dayes of Lot: they ate, they dranke, they bought, they solde, they planted, they built. ²⁹ But in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heauen, and destroyed them all. ³⁰ After these ensamples shall it be in the day when the Sonne of man is reueiled.

⁴² Saying, O if thou haddest euen knowen at the least in this thy day those things, which belong vnto thy peace! but nowe are they hid from thine eyes. ⁴³ For the dayes shall come vpon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compasse thee round, and keepe thee in on euery side, ⁴⁴ And shall make thee euen with ye ground, and thy children which are in thee, and they shall not leaue in thee a stone vpon a stone, because thou knewest not that season of thy visitation.

⁷ Wherefore, as the holy Ghost sayth, To day if ye shall heare his voyce, ⁸ Harden not your hearts, as in the prouocation, according to the day of the tentation in the wildernes, ⁹ Where your fathers tempted me, prooued me, and sawe my workes fourtie yeeres long. ¹⁰ Wherefore I was grieued with that generation, and sayde, They erre euer in their heart, neither haue they knowen my wayes. ¹¹ Therefore I sware in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest.
