⁹ And Ioshua the sonne of Nun was full of ye spirit of wisedome: for Moses had put his hands vpon him. And the children of Israel were obedient vnto him, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

³ Whom I haue filled with the Spirit of God, in wisedome, and in vnderstanding and in knowledge and in all workmanship:

¹⁷ And I will come downe, and talke with thee there, and take of the Spirite, which is vpon thee, and put vpon them, and they shall beare the burthen of the people with thee: so thou shalt not beare it alone.

¹⁸ And the Lord said vnto Moses, Take thee Ioshua the sonne of Nun, in whom is the Spirite, and put thine handes vpon him, ¹⁹ And set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation, and giue him a charge in their sight. ²⁰ And giue him of thy glory, that all the Congregation of ye children of Israel may obey. ²¹ And he shall stande before Eleazar the Priest, who shall aske counsell for him by the iudgement of Vrim before the Lord: at his worde they shall goe out, and at his worde they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him and all the Congregation. ²² So Moses did as the Lord had commanded him, and he tooke Ioshua, and set him before Eleazar the Priest, and before all the Congregation. ²³ Then he put his handes vpon him, and gaue him a charge, as the Lord had spoken by the hand of Moses.

¹⁶ Then they answered Ioshua, saying, Al that thou hast commanded vs, we will doe, and whithersoeuer thou sendest vs, we will goe. ¹⁷ As we obeyed Moses in all things, so will we obey thee: onely the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses. ¹⁸ Whosoeuer shall rebell against thy commandement, and will not obey thy wordes in all that thou commaundest him, let him bee put to death: onely be strong and of good courage.

⁹ Giue therefore vnto thy seruant an vnderstanding heart, to iudge thy people, that I may discerne betweene good and bad: for who is able to iudge this thy mightie people?

¹² Beholde, I haue done according to thy wordes: lo, I haue giuen thee a wise and an vnderstanding heart, so that there hath bene none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall arise the like vnto thee.

⁹ Nowe when they were passed ouer, Eliiah saide vnto Elisha, Aske what I shall doe for thee before I be taken from thee. And Elisha saide, I pray thee, let thy Spirit be double vpon me.

¹⁵ And when the children of the Prophets, which were at Iericho, saw him on the other side, they sayde, The Spirite of Eliiah doeth rest on Elisha: and they came to meete him, and fell to the grounde before him,

² And the Spirite of the Lord shall rest vpon him: the Spirite of wisedome and vnderstanding, the Spirite of counsell and strength, the Spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of the Lord,

³ Now this Daniel was preferred aboue the rulers and gouernours, because the spirit was excellent in him, and the King thought to set him ouer the whole realme.

³⁴ For hee whome God hath sent, speaketh the woordes of God: for God giueth him not the Spirit by measure.

⁶ Which they set before the Apostles: and they prayed, and layed their hands on them.

¹⁷ Then layd they their handes on them, and they receiued the holy Ghost. ¹⁸ And when Simon sawe, that through laying on of the Apostles hands the holy Ghost was giuen, he offred them money, ¹⁹ Saying, Giue mee also this power, that on whomsoeuer I lay the handes, he may receiue the holy Ghost.

³ In whom are hid all the treasures of wisedome and knowledge.

¹⁴ Despise not the gift that is in thee, which was giuen thee by prophecie with the laying on of the hands of the companie of the Eldership.

²² Lay handes suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sinnes: keepe thy selfe pure.
