¹⁰ And the chiefe of the Eunuches sayd vnto Daniel, I feare my lord the King, who hath appointed your meate and your drinke: therefore if he see your faces worse liking then the other children, which are of your sort, then shall you make me lose mine head vnto the King.

²⁵ The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.

¹⁶ Moreouer, when ye fast, looke not sowre as the hypocrites: for they disfigure their faces, that they might seeme vnto men to fast. Verely I say vnto you, that they haue their rewarde. ¹⁷ But when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face, ¹⁸ That thou seeme not vnto men to fast, but vnto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret, will rewarde thee openly.

⁴² Neuertheles, euen among the chiefe rulers, many beleeued in him: but because of the Pharises they did not confesse him, least they should be cast out of the Synagogue. ⁴³ For they loued the prayse of men, more then the prayse of God.
