³⁵ This Moses, whom they had refused, saying, Who made thee a prince and a judge? the same did God send as prince and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

¹⁹ And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and likewise the pillar of cloud went from before their face and stood behind them.

²⁴ And it came to pass that in the morning watch the LORD looked at the camp of the Egyptians in the pillar of fire and of cloud and troubled the camp of the Egyptians

²⁰ ¶ Behold, I send the Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. ²¹ Keep thyself before him and hear his voice, grieve him not; for he will not pardon your rebellion, for my name is in him. ²² But if thou shalt indeed hear his voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies and an adversary unto those that afflict thee. ²³ For my Angel shall go before thee and bring thee in unto the land of the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Canaanite the Hivite and the Jebusite; and I will cut them off.

³⁴ Therefore go now, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee; behold, my Angel shall go before thee; nevertheless in the day of my visitation I will visit their sin in them.

² (And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.)

¹² ¶ And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring this people out, and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou saith, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. ¹³ Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight; and consider that this nation is thy people. ¹⁴ And he said, My presence {Heb. faces} shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. ¹⁵ And he said unto him, If thy presence {Heb. faces} is not to go before us, do not bring us out of here.

¹⁶ and we cried unto the LORD, who heard our voice, and sent an angel and has brought us forth out of Egypt; and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of thy border.

⁷ And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee, for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me that I should not reign over them. ⁸ According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, with which they have forsaken me and served other gods, so they also do unto thee.

²⁷ But the sons of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him and brought him no presents. But he pretended not to notice.

⁸ After Jacob had entered into Egypt and your fathers cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron who brought forth your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place.

¹⁰ and didst show signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his slaves and on all the people of his land; for thou didst know that they had dealt proudly against them. So didst thou make thee a name, as it is this day. ¹¹ And thou didst divide the sea before them so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou didst throw into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters. ¹² Moreover, thou didst lead them by day with a pillar of cloud and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light in the way by which they should go. ¹³ Thou didst come down upon Mount Sinai and didst speak with them from heaven and didst give them right judgments and true laws, good statutes and commandments, ¹⁴ and didst make known unto them the sabbath of thy holiness and didst prescribe for them commandments, statutes, and law by the hand of Moses, thy slave.

⁷ But God is the judge; he puts down one and sets up another.

²⁰ Thou didst lead thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

⁷ He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts the destitute out of the dunghill; ⁸ that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

²² The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner. ²³ This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

⁹ In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his face saved them: with his love and with his clemency he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of the age.

¹¹ Then he remembered the days of old, of Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he that put his Holy Spirit within him? ¹² He that led them by the right hand of Moses with the arm of his glory, he who divided the water before them, thus making himself an everlasting name.

¹⁴ But his citizens hated him and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

⁴⁰ Then they all cried again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

¹⁵ But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate said unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The high priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

²² For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things doing whatever he shall say unto you.

³¹ God has exalted him with his right hand as Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

⁹ And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt, but God was with him ¹⁰ and delivered him out of all his afflictions and gave him grace and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. ¹¹ Now there came a famine over all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great tribulation, and our fathers found no sustenance. ¹² But when Jacob heard that there was wheat in Egypt, he sent our fathers the first time. ¹³ And in the second Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph’s lineage was made known unto Pharaoh. ¹⁴ Then Joseph sent and called his father Jacob unto him and all his kindred, seventy-five souls. ¹⁵ So Jacob went down into Egypt and died, he and our fathers,

²⁷ But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? ²⁸ Wilt thou kill me as thou didst the Egyptian yesterday?

³⁰ ¶ And when forty years were expired, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai, in a flame of fire in a bush.

⁵¹ ¶ Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do ye.

¹⁵ who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature;

² For if the word spoken by the ministry of angels was steadfast and every rebellion and disobedience received a just recompense of reward,

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
