¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen.

¹³ Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. ¹⁴ How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!

¹⁶ So shall the last be first and the first last. For many are called but few chosen.

²² And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh should be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be shortened.

²³ And a certain man said to him: Lord, are they few that are saved? But he said to them: ²⁴ Strive to enter by the narrow gate: for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter and shall not be able.

¹⁰ Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election. For doing these things, you shall not sin at any time.

¹⁴ These shall fight with the Lamb. And the Lamb shall overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings: and they that are with him are called and elect and faithful.
