¹⁶ To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles: immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood.

⁹ Who hath said to his father, and to his mother: I do not know you; and to his bretheren: I know you not: and their own children they have not known. These have kept thy word, and observed thy covenant,

¹⁷ And Jesus answering said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

⁴¹ Watch ye: and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

²³ And he said to all: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. ²⁴ For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: for he that shall lose his life for my sake shall save it. ²⁵ For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world and lose himself and cast away himself?

⁵⁹ But he said to another: Follow me. And he said: Lord, suffer me first to go and to bury my father. ⁶⁰ And Jesus said to him: Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. ⁶¹ And another said: I will follow thee, Lord; but let me first take my leave of them that are at my house. ⁶² Jesus said to him: No man putting his hand to the plough and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ And the Lord said to him: Go thy way: for this man is to me a vessel of election, to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.

²¹ And he said to me: Go, for unto the Gentiles afar off will I send thee.

¹⁷ Delivering thee from the people and from the nations unto which now I send thee: ¹⁸ To open their eyes, that they may be converted from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a lot among the saints, by the faith that is in me. ¹⁹ Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not incredulous to the heavenly vision. ²⁰ But to them first that are at Damascus and at Jerusalem, and unto all the country of Judea, and to the Gentiles did I preach, that they should do penance and turn to God, doing works worthy of penance.

¹³ And I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that I have often purposed to come unto you (and have been hindered hitherto) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. ¹⁴ To the Greeks and to the barbarians, to the wise and to the unwise, I am a debtor.

¹³ For I say to you, Gentiles: As long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry,

¹⁶ That I should be the minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles: sanctifying the gospel of God, that the oblation of the Gentiles may be made acceptable and sanctified in the Holy Ghost. ¹⁷ I have therefore glory in Christ Jesus towards God. ¹⁸ For I dare not to speak of any of those things which Christ worketh not by me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed, ¹⁹ By the virtue of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem round about, as far as unto Illyricum, I have replenished the gospel of Christ.

⁹ But, as it is written: That eye hath not seen, nor ear heard: neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him. ¹⁰ But to us God hath revealed them by his Spirit. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. ¹¹ For what man knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man that is in him? So the things also that are of God, no man knoweth, but the Spirit of God. ¹² Now, we have received not the spirit of this world, but the Spirit that is of God: that we may know the things that are given us from God. ¹³ Which things also we speak: not in the learned words of human wisdom, but in the doctrine of the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot possess the kingdom of God: neither shall corruption possess incorruption.

⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Christ Jesus.

¹⁶ Wherefore henceforth, we know no man according to the flesh. And if we have known Christ according to the flesh: but now we know him so no longer.

¹¹ For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. ¹² For neither did I receive it of man: nor did I learn it but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

¹ Then, after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.

⁶ But of them who seemed to be some thing, (what they were some time it is nothing to me, God accepteth not the person of man): for to me they that seemed to be some thing added nothing. ⁷ But contrariwise, when they had seen that to me was committed the gospel of the uncircumcision, as to Peter was that of the circumcision. ⁸ (For he who wrought in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision wrought in me also among the Gentiles.) ⁹ And when they had known the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, who seemed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship: that we should go unto the Gentiles, and they unto the circumcision:

¹⁷ That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and of revelation, in the knowledge of him: ¹⁸ The eyes of your heart enlightened that you may know what the hope is of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.

¹ For this cause, I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, for you Gentiles:

⁵ Which in other generations was not known to the sons of men, as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit: ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs and of the same body: and copartners of his promise in Christ Jesus, by the gospel ⁷ Of which I am made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God, which is given to me according to the operation of his power. ⁸ To me, the least of all the saints, is given this grace, to preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ: ⁹ And to enlighten all men, that they may see what is the dispensation of the mystery which hath been hidden from eternity in God who created all things: ¹⁰ That the manifold wisdom of God may be made known to the principalities and powers in heavenly places through the church,

¹² For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.

²⁵ Whereof I am made a minister according to the dispensation of God, which is given me towards you, that I may fulfil the word of God: ²⁶ The mystery which hath been hidden from ages and generations, but now is manifested to his saints, ²⁷ To whom God would make known the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ, in you the hope of glory.

¹⁶ Prohibiting us to speak to the Gentiles, that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath of God is come upon them to the end.

⁷ Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle (I say the truth, I lie not), a doctor of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
