³⁸ that the sayenge of Esay the prophet might be fulfylled, which he spake: LORDE, who beleueth oure preachinge? Or to whom is the arme of the LORDE opened?

²⁰ But contrary wyse the kynge Ezechias and the prophet Esay the sonne of Amos prayed, and cryed vnto heaue.

³ For they gat not the londe in possession thorow their owne swerde, nether was it their owne arme that helped them.

¹⁰ beholde, the LORDE, euen the almightie sha come with power, & beare rule with his arme. Beholde, he bringeth his treasure with him, and his workes go before him. ¹¹ He shal fede his flock like an hirdman. He shal gather the lambes together with his arme, and carie them in his bosome, & shal kindly intreate those that beare yonge.

⁵ It is hard by, that my health & my rightuousnesse shal go forth, and the people shalbe ordred with myne arme. The Ilondes (that is ye Gentiles) shal hope in me, and put their trust in myne arme.

⁹ Wake vp, wake vp, & be stronge: O thou arme of the LORDE: wake vp, lyke as in tymes past, euer and sence the worlde beganne.

⁷ Ye ypocrites, full well hath Esaye prophecied of you, & sayde:

¹⁷ And Iesus answered, & saide vnto hi: Blessed art thou Symo ye sonne of Ionas, for flesh & bloude hath not opened yt vnto the, but my father yt is in heaue.

³⁵ So whan they had crucified him, they parted his garmetes, and cast lottes therfore: that the thinge might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet: They haue parted my garmetes amonge the, & cast lottes vpon my vesture.

²⁵ Neuertheles that the sayenge might be fulfilled, which is wrytten in their lawe: They haue hated me without a cause.

¹² Whyle I was with the in the worlde, I kepte them in thy name. Those yt thou gauest me, haue I kepte, and none of them is lost, but that lost childe, that the scripture might be fulfylled.

²⁴ Then sayde they one to another: Let vs not deuyde it, but cast lottes for it, who shal haue it, that the scripture might be fulfilled, which sayeth: They haue parted my garmentes amonge them, and on my cote haue they cast lottes. This dyd the soudyers in dede.

²⁷ For the inhabiters of Ierusalem, and their rulers, for somoch as they knewe him not, ner yet the voyces of the prophetes (which are red euery Sabbath) haue fulfylled them in condemnynge him. ²⁸ And though they founde no cause of death in him, yet desyred they Pilate to kyll him. ²⁹ And whan they had fulfylled all that was wrytten of him, they toke him downe from the tre, and layed him in a sepulcre.

¹⁶ But they are not all obedient vnto the Gospell. For Esaye sayeth: LORDE, who beleueth oure preachinge?

²⁰ Esaye after him is bolde, aud sayeth: I am founde of them, that sought me not: & haue appeared vnto them, that axed not after me.

²⁴ But vnto them that are called (both Iewes and Grekes) we preach Christ the power of God and the wyssdome off God.

¹⁴ But their myndes are blynded. For vnto this daye remayneth the same coueringe vntake awaye in the olde Testament, whan they rede it, which in Christ is put awaye. ¹⁵ But euen vnto this daye whan moses is red, the vayle hangeth before their hertes: ¹⁶ Neuertheles wha they turne to the LORDE, the vayle shalbe taken awaye. ¹⁷ For the LORDE is a sprete: & where the sprete of the LORDE is, there is libertye. ¹⁸ But now the glory of ye LORDE apeareth in vs all with open face, and we are chaunged into the same ymage, from one clearnes to another, eue as of the sprete of the LORDE.

³ Yf oure Gospell be yet hyd, it is hyd in them that are lost: ⁴ amonge whom the God of this worlde hath blynded ye myndes of them which beleue not, that ye lighte of the Gospell of the glory of Christ ( which is the ymage of God) shulde not shyne vnto them. ⁵ For we preach not or selues, but Iesus Christ to be the LORDE, and oure selues youre seruauntes for Iesus sake. ⁶ For God that comaunded the light to shyne out of darcknesse, hath geuen a cleare shyne in oure hertes, yt by vs ye light of ye knowlege of the glory of God mighte come forth, in the face of Iesus Christ.

¹⁶ for to declare his sonne in me, that I shulde preach him thorow the Gospell amonge the Heythen, immediatly I commened not of the matter with flesh and bloude: ¹⁷ that ye God of oure LORDE Iesus Christ, the father of glory maye geue vnto you the sprete of wyssdome, and open vnto you the knowlege of himselfe, ¹⁸ and lighten the eyes of youre vnderstondinge, that ye maye knowe what is the hope of youre callynge, and what the riches of his glorious enheritaunce is vpon the sayntes, ¹⁹ & what is the exceadinge greatnesse of his power towarde vs, which beleue acordinge to ye workynge of his mightie power, ²⁰ which he wroughte in Christ, whan he raysed him vp fro the deed, and set him on his righte hade i heauely thinges,
