²⁶ The same beganne to speake boldly in the synagoge. Whan Aquila and Priscilla herde him, they toke him vnto the, and expounded the waye of God vnto him more perfectly.

⁵ By hearinge, the wyse ma shal come by more wysdome: and by experience,

⁹ Geue a discrete man but an occasion, & he wilbe the wyser: teach a rightuous man, and he wil increase.

¹⁷ My sonne, bowe downe thine eare, and herken vnto the wordes of wy?dome, applye yi mynde vnto my doctryne: ¹⁸ for it is a pleasaunt thinge yf thou kepe it in thine herte, and practise it in thy mouth:

¹² The correccion of the wyse is to an obedient eare, a golden cheyne and a Iewel of golde.

¹ And therfore crie now, as loude as thou canst. Leaue not of, lift vp thy voyce like a tropet, and shewe my people their offences, and ye house of Iacob their synnes.

³ and sayde: Verely I saye vnto you: Excepte ye turne and become as children, ye shal not entre into the kyngdome of heauen. ⁴ Whosoeuer therfore humbleth him self as this childe, ye same is the greatest in ye kyngdome of heauen.

¹⁵ Verely I saye vnto you: Who so euer receaueth not the kyngdome of God as a childe, he shal not entre therin.

²⁶ But I saye vnto you: Whosoeuer hath, vnto him shal be geue: but from him that hath not, shal be taken awaye euen that he hath.

²⁷ And he beganne at Moses and at all the prophetes, and expounded vnto them all the scriptures, that were spoken of him.

¹⁷ Yf eny man wyl do his will, he shal knowe, whether this doctryne be of God, or whether I speake of my self.

³¹ He sayde: How can I, excepte some ma enfourme me?And he desyred Philippe, that he wolde come vp, and syt with him.

³ So they had their beynge there a loge season, and quyte them selues boldly in the LORDE, which gaue testimony vnto the worde of his grace, and caused tokens and wonders to be done by their handes.

² and founde a Iewe named Aquila, borne in Potus, which was lately come out of Italy: and his wife Priscilla (because the Emperor Claudius had commaunded all Iewes to departe from Rome) and he drue vnto the. ³ And because he was of the same crafte, he abode with the, and wroughte. Their crafte was to make tentes.

²⁵ the same was infourmed in the waye of the LORDE, and spake feruently in the sprete, and taughte diligently the thinges of the LORDE, and knewe but the baptyme off Ihon onely.

²³ And wha they had appoynted hi a daye, there came many vnto hi in to his lodginge: vnto who he expouded ye kyngdome of God & preached vnto the of Iesu, out of ye lawe and out of the prophetes, eue fro mornynge vntyll the eue.

¹⁸ Let no ma disceaue himselfe. Yf eny man thinke himselfe wyse amoge you, let him become a foole in this worlde, that he maye be wyse.

² Neuertheles yf eny ma thinke yt he knoweth eny thinge, he knoweth not yet how he oughte to knowe.

²¹ The eye can not saye vnto the hande: I haue no nede of the: or agayne the heade vnto the fete, I haue no nede of you:

¹⁹ and for me, that the worde maye be geuen me, that I maye open my mouth boldly, to vtter the secretes of the Gospell, ²⁰ wherof I am a messaunger in bondes, that I maye speake therin frely, as it becommeth me to speake.

¹ Wherfore let vs leaue the doctryne pertaynynge to the begynnynge of a Christen life, and let vs go vnto perfeccion: and now nomore laye ye foundacion of repetaunce from deed workes, and of faith towarde God,

¹⁸ But growe in grace, and in the knowlege of oure LORDE and Sauioure Iesus Christ. To him be prayse now and for euer, Amen.
