Joshua 9:15 Cross References - CLV

¹⁵ and Joshua makes with them peace, and makes with them a covenant, to keep them alive; and swear to them do the princes of the company.

³² You shall not contract a covenant with them or with their elohim.

¹⁰ When you come near to a city to fight against it then you should call to it for peace. ¹¹ And it will come to be if it should answer you with peace, and it opens up to you, then it will come to be that all the people who are being found in it shall become tributary to you, and they will serve you.

¹² `And now, swear you, I pray you, to me by Yahweh--because I have done with you kindness--that you have done, even you, kindness with the house of my father, and have given to me a true token, <sup>13</sup> and have kept alive my father, and my mother, and my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and have delivered our souls from death.. <sup>14</sup> And the men say to her, `Our soul for yours--to die; if you declare not this our matter, then it has been, in Yahweh's giving to us this land, that we have done with you kindness and truth.. ¹⁵ And she causes them to go down by a rope through the window, for her house [is] in the side of the wall, and in the wall she [is] dwelling;" ¹⁶ and she said to them, `To the mountain go, lest the pursuers come upon you; and you have been hidden there three days till the turning back of the pursuers, and afterwards you go on your way.. <sup>17</sup> And the men say unto her, `We are acquitted of this your oath which you have caused us to swear. ¹⁸ lo, we are coming into the land, this line of scarlet thread you do bind to the window by which you have caused us to go down, and your father, and your mother, and your brethren, and all the house of your father you do gather unto you, to the house;" ¹⁹ and it has been, any one who goes out from the doors of your house without, his blood [is] on his head, and we are innocent; and any one who is with you in the house, his blood [is] on our head, if a hand is on him;"

²² And to the two men who are spying the land Joshua said, `Go into the house of the woman, the harlot, and bring out thence the woman, and all whom she has, as you have sworn to her.. ²³ And the young man, the spies, go in and bring out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all whom she has; yea, all her families they have brought out, and place them at the outside of the camp of Israel. ²⁴ And the city they have burnt with fire, and all that [is] in it; only, the silver and the gold, and the vessels of brass, and of iron, they have given [to] the treasury of the house of Yahweh;" ²⁵ and Rahab the harlot, and the house of her father, and all whom she has, has Joshua kept alive; and she dwells in the midst of Israel unto this day, for she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

¹⁹ there has not been a city which made peace with the sons of Israel save the Hivite, inhabitants of Gibeon; the whole they have taken in battle;"

² And the king calls for the Gibeonites, and said unto them--as to the Gibeonites, they [are] not of the sons of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorite, and the sons of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul seeks to smite them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah-.

⁷ The moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, To pluck up and to break down, and to destroy, ⁸ And that nation has turned from its evil, Because I have spoken against it, Then I have repented of the evil that I thought to do to it."
