³⁶ Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you: and on earth he showed you his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.

⁹ And the LORD said to Moses, See, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you for ever. And Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.

¹⁹ And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

¹⁸ And all the people saw the thunder, and the lightning, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. ¹⁹ And they said to Moses, Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. ²⁰ And Moses said to the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that you sin not. ²¹ And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. ²² And the LORD said to Moses, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, You have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

¹⁶ And the glory of the LORD stayed on mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called to Moses out of the middle of the cloud.

³³ Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live?

¹³ You came down also on mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:

¹⁸ For you are not come to the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor to blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

²⁵ See that you refuse not him that speaks. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaks from heaven:
