⁹ If we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous so as to forgive us those sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

³⁷ Now upon hearing this they were cut to the heart and said to Peter, and the rest of the Apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?!”

⁸ “Now when He comes he will convict the world about sin and about righteousness and about judgment:

¹⁹ “Now this is the basis for the condemning, that the Light has come into the world, but the people loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were malignant. ²⁰ For whoever practices evil hates the light and doesn’t come to the light so that his deeds may not be exposed. ²¹ But whoever does the truth comes to the light so that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they are done in God.”

⁹ Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry as God intended, so as not to be harmed by us in any way. ¹⁰ Now godly sorrow produces repentance into salvation without regret, but the world’s sorrow produces death.
