³⁵ If thy brother be waxed pore and fallen in decay with the, receiue him as a straunger or a soiourner, & let him lyue by th

⁷ When one of thy brethren among you is waxed poore in any of thy cityes within thy land whych the Lord thy God geueth the, se that thou harden not thyne hert nor shet to thine hand from thy poore brother: ⁸ But open thyne hand vnto him & lende hym suffitiente for hys nede whych he hath.

¹⁹ Better is it to be of humble mynde with the lowly, then to deuyde the spoyles wyth the proud.

¹⁷ He that hath pittie vppon the poore, lendeth vnto the Lord: & loke what he layeth oute, it shalbe payed hym agayn.

² Whensoeuer therfore thou geuest thime almes, thou shalt not make a trompet to be blowen before the, as the hypocrytes do in the synagoges and in the stretes, for to be praised of men. Verely I saye vnto you, they haue their rewarde.

³³ Sell that ye haue, and geue almes. And make you bagges whiche were not old, and treasure that faileth not in heauen, where no these cometh, neyther mothe corrupteth.

¹ I do you to wyt brethren, of the grace of God, which is geuen in the congregacyons of Macedonia, ² howe that the aboundaunce of theyr reioysynge is, that they are tryed with muche trybulacyon. And therto thoughe they were excedynge poore, yet haue they geuen excedynge richelye, and that in synglenesse. ³ For to theyr powers (I beare recorde) ye and beyonde theyr power, they were wyllynge of theyr owne accorde, ⁴ & prayed vs with great instaunce that we would receyue theyr benefyte, and suffer them to be partakers with other in mynystrynge to the saynctes.

⁴² Geue to hym that axeth, & from him that woulde borow tourne not away.

⁴¹ Neuerthelesse geue almose of that ye haue, and beholde all is cleane to you.

² And ther was a certayne man halte from hys mothers wombe, whome they broughte and layed at the gate of the temple called beutifull, to axe almes of them that entred into the temple.

¹⁸ and that they do good and be ryche in good workes, and readye to geue and to distrybute,

¹⁰ For God is not vnryghtuous that he should forget your worke and laboure that procedeth of loue, which loue you shewed in hys name, whiche haue mynystred vnto the saynctes, & yet mynyster.

¹⁶ To do good, and to distrybute, forget not, for wt suche sacryfyces God is pleased.

¹⁷ Whosoeuer hath this worldes good, and seeth his brother haue nede, and shutteth vp his compassion from him, howe dwelleth the loue of God in hym?

⁷ And let euery man do accordyng as he hath purposed in hys hert, not groundgingly, or of necessitie. For God loueth a chearefull geuer.

⁵ Wherfore I thought it necessarye to exhorte the brethren, to come before hande vnto you, for to prepare your good blessyng promysed afore, that it myght be redye, so that it be a blessynge, and not a defraudynge. ⁶ Thys yet remember, howe that he whiche soweth lyttell, shal reape lyttell, & he that soweth plentuously, shall reape plentuously. ⁷ And let euery man do accordyng as he hath purposed in hys hert, not groundgingly, or of necessitie. For God loueth a chearefull geuer.

²¹ And Iesus sayde vnto him, if thou wilt be perfecte go and sell that thou haste, and geue it to the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come and folowe me.

¹ Take hede to your almes, that ye geue it not in the sight of men, to the intent that ye would be sene of them. Or els ye get no rewarde of youre father whyche is in heauen. ² Whensoeuer therfore thou geuest thime almes, thou shalt not make a trompet to be blowen before the, as the hypocrytes do in the synagoges and in the stretes, for to be praised of men. Verely I saye vnto you, they haue their rewarde. ³ But when thou doest thine almes, let not thy lyft hande knowe what thy ryght hande doth, ⁴ that thyne almes may be secrete: and thy father whiche seeth in secrete, shall rewarde the openly.
