¹⁷ οὕτως (So) πᾶν (every) δένδρον (tree) ἀγαθὸν (good), καρποὺς (fruits) καλοὺς (good) ποιεῖ (produces); τὸ (-) δὲ (but) σαπρὸν (the bad) δένδρον (tree), καρποὺς (fruits) πονηροὺς (bad) ποιεῖ (produces). ¹⁸ οὐ (Not) δύναται (is able) δένδρον (a tree) ἀγαθὸν (good), καρποὺς (fruits) πονηροὺς (bad) ποιεῖν* (to produce); οὐδὲ (nor) δένδρον (a tree) σαπρὸν (bad), καρποὺς (fruits) καλοὺς (good) ποιεῖν* (to produce). ¹⁹ πᾶν (Every) δένδρον (tree) μὴ (not) ποιοῦν (producing) καρπὸν (fruit) καλὸν (good) ἐκκόπτεται (is cut down) καὶ (and) εἰς (into) πῦρ (fire) βάλλεται (is thrown). ²⁰ ἄρα¦γε (Then surely) ἀπὸ (by) τῶν (the) καρπῶν (fruits) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐπιγνώσεσθε (you will know) αὐτούς (them). ²¹ Οὐ (Not) πᾶς (everyone) ὁ (-) λέγων (saying) μοι (to Me), ‘Κύριε (Lord), Κύριε (Lord),’ εἰσελεύσεται (will enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τῶν (of the) οὐρανῶν (heavens), ἀλλ’ (but) ὁ (the one) ποιῶν (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), τοῦ (who is) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens). ²² πολλοὶ (Many) ἐροῦσίν (will say) μοι (to Me) ἐν (in) ἐκείνῃ (that) τῇ (the) ἡμέρᾳ (day), ‘Κύριε (Lord), Κύριε (Lord), οὐ (not) τῷ (in) σῷ (Your) ὀνόματι (name) ἐπροφητεύσαμεν (did we prophesy), καὶ (and) τῷ (in) σῷ (Your) ὀνόματι (name) δαιμόνια (demons) ἐξεβάλομεν (cast out), καὶ (and) τῷ (in) σῷ (your) ὀνόματι (name) δυνάμεις (miracles) πολλὰς (many) ἐποιήσαμεν (perform)?’ ²³ καὶ (And) τότε (then) ὁμολογήσω (I will declare) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὅτι (-), ‘Οὐδέποτε (Never) ἔγνων (knew I) ὑμᾶς (you); ἀποχωρεῖτε (depart you) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμοῦ (Me), οἱ (those) ἐργαζόμενοι (working) τὴν (-) ἀνομίαν (lawlessness).’ ²⁴ Πᾶς (Everyone) οὖν (therefore), ὅστις (whoever) ἀκούει (hears) μου (My) τοὺς (-) λόγους (words) τούτους (these), καὶ (and) ποιεῖ (does) αὐτούς (them), ὁμοιωθήσεται (will be like) ἀνδρὶ (a man) φρονίμῳ (wise), ὅστις (who) ᾠκοδόμησεν (built) αὐτοῦ (his) τὴν (-) οἰκίαν (house) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) πέτραν (rock). ²⁵ καὶ (And) κατέβη (came down) ἡ (the) βροχὴ (rain), καὶ (and) ἦλθον (came) οἱ (the) ποταμοὶ (torrents), καὶ (and) ἔπνευσαν (blew) οἱ (the) ἄνεμοι (winds), καὶ (and) προσέπεσαν (beat) τῇ (that) οἰκίᾳ (house) ἐκείνῃ (upon); καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἔπεσεν (it fell), τεθεμελίωτο (it had been founded) γὰρ (for) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) πέτραν (rock). ²⁶ καὶ (And) πᾶς (everyone) ὁ (-) ἀκούων (hearing) μου (My) τοὺς (-) λόγους (words) τούτους (these), καὶ (and) μὴ (not) ποιῶν (doing) αὐτοὺς (them), ὁμοιωθήσεται (he will be likened) ἀνδρὶ (to a man) μωρῷ (foolish), ὅστις (who) ᾠκοδόμησεν (built) αὐτοῦ (of him) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) ἄμμον (sand). ²⁷ καὶ (And) κατέβη (came down) ἡ (the) βροχὴ (rain), καὶ (and) ἦλθον (came) οἱ (the) ποταμοὶ (torrents), καὶ (and) ἔπνευσαν (blew) οἱ (the) ἄνεμοι (winds), καὶ (and) προσέκοψαν (beat) τῇ (that) οἰκίᾳ (house) ἐκείνῃ (upon), καὶ (and) ἔπεσεν (it fell)— καὶ (and) ἦν (was) ἡ (the) πτῶσις (fall) αὐτῆς (of it) μεγάλη (great).”

⁴³ Καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) σκανδαλίζῃ* (should cause to stumble) σε (you) ἡ (the) χείρ (hand) σου (of you), ἀπόκοψον (cut off) αὐτήν (it); καλόν (better) ἐστίν (it is) σε (for you) κυλλὸν (crippled) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) ζωὴν (life), ἢ (than) τὰς (-) δύο (two) χεῖρας (hands) ἔχοντα (having), ἀπελθεῖν (to go away) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) γέενναν (hell), εἰς (into) τὸ (the) πῦρ (fire) τὸ (-) ἄσβεστον (unquenchable). ^{44 45} καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) ὁ (the) πούς (foot) σου (of you) σκανδαλίζῃ (should cause to stumble) σε (you), ἀπόκοψον (cut off) αὐτόν (it); καλόν (better) ἐστίν (it is) σε (for you) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) ζωὴν (life) χωλὸν (lame), ἢ (than) τοὺς (the) δύο (two) πόδας (feet) ἔχοντα (having), βληθῆναι (to be cast) εἰς (into) τὴν (-) γέενναν (hell).

¹ Γίνεσθε (Be) οὖν (therefore) μιμηταὶ (imitators) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ὡς (as) τέκνα (children) ἀγαπητά (beloved), ² καὶ (and) περιπατεῖτε (walk) ἐν (in) ἀγάπῃ (love), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Χριστὸς (Christ) ἠγάπησεν (loved) ἡμᾶς* (us) καὶ (and) παρέδωκεν (gave up) ἑαυτὸν (himself) ὑπὲρ (for) ἡμῶν (us) προσφορὰν (as an offering) καὶ (and) θυσίαν (a sacrifice) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God), εἰς (into) ὀσμὴν (an aroma) εὐωδίας (of a sweet smell). ³ Πορνεία (Sexual immorality) δὲ (however), καὶ (and) ἀκαθαρσία (impurity) πᾶσα (all), ἢ (or) πλεονεξία (covetousness), μηδὲ (not even) ὀνομαζέσθω (let be named) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), καθὼς (as also) πρέπει (is proper) ἁγίοις (to saints), ⁴ καὶ (and) αἰσχρότης (filthiness), καὶ (and) μωρολογία (foolish talking), ἢ (or) εὐτραπελία (crude joking), ἃ (which) οὐκ (not) ἀνῆκεν (are fitting); ἀλλὰ (but) μᾶλλον (rather) εὐχαριστία (thanksgiving). ⁵ τοῦτο (This) γὰρ (for) ἴστε (you know), γινώσκοντες (realizing) ὅτι (that) πᾶς (any) πόρνος (fornicator), ἢ (or) ἀκάθαρτος (unclean person), ἢ (or) πλεονέκτης (covetous man), ὅ (who) ἐστιν (is) εἰδωλολάτρης (an idolater), οὐκ (not) ἔχει (has) κληρονομίαν (inheritance) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), καὶ (and) Θεοῦ (of God). ⁶ Μηδεὶς (No one) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀπατάτω (let deceive) κενοῖς (with empty) λόγοις (words), διὰ (because of) ταῦτα (these things) γὰρ (for) ἔρχεται (comes) ἡ (the) ὀργὴ (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐπὶ (upon) τοὺς (the) υἱοὺς (sons) τῆς (-) ἀπειθείας (of disobedience). ⁷ μὴ (Not) οὖν (therefore) γίνεσθε (be) συμμέτοχοι (partakers) αὐτῶν (with them). ⁸ Ἦτε (You were) γάρ (for) ποτε (once) σκότος (darkness); νῦν (now) δὲ (however), φῶς (light) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord); ὡς (as) τέκνα (children) φωτὸς (of light) περιπατεῖτε (walk)— ⁹ ὁ (-) γὰρ (for) καρπὸς (the fruit) τοῦ (of the) φωτὸς (light is) ἐν (in) πάσῃ (all) ἀγαθωσύνῃ (goodness) καὶ (and) δικαιοσύνῃ (righteousness) καὶ (and) ἀληθείᾳ (truth)— ¹⁰ δοκιμάζοντες (discerning) τί (what) ἐστιν (is) εὐάρεστον (well-pleasing) τῷ (to the) Κυρίῳ (Lord). ¹¹ Καὶ (And) μὴ (not) συνκοινωνεῖτε (have fellowship with) τοῖς (the) ἔργοις (works) τοῖς (-) ἀκάρποις (unfruitful) τοῦ (-) σκότους (of darkness); μᾶλλον (rather) δὲ (however) καὶ (even) ἐλέγχετε (expose them); ¹² τὰ (the things) γὰρ (for) κρυφῇ (in secret) γινόμενα (being done) ὑπ’ (by) αὐτῶν (them), αἰσχρόν (shameful) ἐστιν (it is) καὶ (even) λέγειν (to mention). ¹³ τὰ (-) δὲ (But) πάντα (everything) ἐλεγχόμενα (being exposed) ὑπὸ (by) τοῦ (the) φωτὸς (light) φανεροῦται (is made visible), πᾶν (everything) γὰρ (for) τὸ (-) φανερούμενον (becoming visible) φῶς (light) ἐστιν (is). ¹⁴ διὸ (Therefore) λέγει (it says): “Ἔγειρε (Awake you), ὁ (the one) καθεύδων (sleeping), καὶ (and) ἀνάστα (rise up) ἐκ (out from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead), καὶ (and) ἐπιφαύσει (will shine upon) σοι (you) ὁ (-) Χριστός (Christ).” ¹⁵ Βλέπετε (Take heed) οὖν (therefore) ἀκριβῶς (carefully) πῶς (how) περιπατεῖτε (you walk), μὴ (not) ὡς (as) ἄσοφοι (unwise), ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) σοφοί (wise), ¹⁶ ἐξαγοραζόμενοι (redeeming) τὸν (the) καιρόν (time), ὅτι (because) αἱ (the) ἡμέραι (days) πονηραί (evil) εἰσιν (are). ¹⁷ διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this), μὴ (not) γίνεσθε (be) ἄφρονες (foolish), ἀλλὰ (but) συνίετε (understand) τί (what) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord is). ¹⁸ καὶ (And) μὴ (not) μεθύσκεσθε (to be drunk) οἴνῳ (with wine), ἐν (in) ᾧ (which) ἐστιν (is) ἀσωτία (debauchery). ἀλλὰ (Instead) πληροῦσθε (be filled) ἐν (with) Πνεύματι (the Spirit), ¹⁹ λαλοῦντες (speaking) ἑαυτοῖς (to each other) [ἐν] (in) ψαλμοῖς (psalms) καὶ (and) ὕμνοις (hymns) καὶ (and) ᾠδαῖς (songs) πνευματικαῖς (spiritual), ᾄδοντες (singing) καὶ (and) ψάλλοντες (making melody) τῇ (in the) καρδίᾳ (heart) ὑμῶν (of you) τῷ (to the) Κυρίῳ (Lord), ²⁰ εὐχαριστοῦντες (giving thanks) πάντοτε (at all times) ὑπὲρ (for) πάντων (all things) ἐν (in) ὀνόματι (the name) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) τῷ (to the) Θεῷ (God) καὶ (and) Πατρί (Father). ²¹ Ὑποτασσόμενοι (Be submitting yourselves) ἀλλήλοις (to one another) ἐν (in) φόβῳ (reverence) Χριστοῦ (of Christ): ²² Αἱ (-) γυναῖκες (wives), τοῖς (to the) ἰδίοις (own) ἀνδράσιν (husbands), ὡς (as) τῷ (to the) Κυρίῳ (Lord); ²³ ὅτι (for) ἀνήρ (the husband) ἐστιν (is) κεφαλὴ (head) τῆς (of the) γυναικὸς (wife), ὡς (as) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Χριστὸς (Christ) κεφαλὴ (is the head) τῆς (of the) ἐκκλησίας (church), αὐτὸς (He Himself) σωτὴρ (Savior) τοῦ (of the) σώματος (body). ²⁴ ἀλλὰ (But) ὡς (even as) ἡ (the) ἐκκλησία (church) ὑποτάσσεται (is subjected) τῷ (-) Χριστῷ (to Christ), οὕτως (so) καὶ (also) αἱ (-) γυναῖκες (wives) τοῖς (to the own) ἀνδράσιν (husbands) ἐν (in) παντί (everything). ²⁵ Οἱ (-) ἄνδρες (Husbands), ἀγαπᾶτε (love) τὰς (the) γυναῖκας (wives), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ὁ (-) Χριστὸς (Christ) ἠγάπησεν (loved) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church) καὶ (and) ἑαυτὸν (Himself) παρέδωκεν (gave up) ὑπὲρ (for) αὐτῆς (her), ²⁶ ἵνα (so that) αὐτὴν (her) ἁγιάσῃ (He might sanctify), καθαρίσας (having cleansed her) τῷ (by the) λουτρῷ (washing) τοῦ (-) ὕδατος (of water) ἐν (by) ῥήματι (the word), ²⁷ ἵνα (so that) παραστήσῃ (might present) αὐτὸς (He) ἑαυτῷ (to Himself) ἔνδοξον (in glory) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church), μὴ (not) ἔχουσαν (having) σπίλον (spot) ἢ (or) ῥυτίδα (wrinkle) ἤ (or) τι (any) τῶν (of the) τοιούτων (such things), ἀλλ’ (but) ἵνα (that) ᾖ (it would be) ἁγία (holy) καὶ (and) ἄμωμος (blameless). ²⁸ Οὕτως (So) ὀφείλουσιν (ought) καὶ (also) οἱ (-) ἄνδρες (husbands) ἀγαπᾶν (to love) τὰς (the) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) γυναῖκας (wives), ὡς (as) τὰ (the) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) σώματα (bodies). ὁ (The one) ἀγαπῶν (loving) τὴν (the) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself) γυναῖκα (wife), ἑαυτὸν (himself) ἀγαπᾷ (loves). ²⁹ οὐδεὶς (No one) γάρ (for) ποτε (at any time) τὴν (the) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself) σάρκα (flesh) ἐμίσησεν (hated), ἀλλὰ (but) ἐκτρέφει (he nourishes) καὶ (and) θάλπει (cherishes) αὐτήν (it), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also does) ὁ (-) Χριστὸς (Christ) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church); ³⁰ ὅτι (for) μέλη (members) ἐσμὲν (we are) τοῦ (of the) σώματος (body) αὐτοῦ (of Him). ³¹ “Ἀντὶ (Because of) τούτου (this), καταλείψει (will leave) ἄνθρωπος (a man) τὸν (his) πατέρα (father) καὶ (and) τὴν (-) μητέρα (mother) καὶ (and) προσκολληθήσεται (be joined) πρὸς (to) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) ἔσονται (will be) οἱ (the) δύο (two) εἰς (into) σάρκα (flesh) μίαν (one).” ³² τὸ (The) μυστήριον (mystery) τοῦτο (this) μέγα (great) ἐστίν (is); ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however) λέγω (speak) εἰς (as to) Χριστὸν (Christ), καὶ (and) εἰς (as to) τὴν (the) ἐκκλησίαν (church). ³³ πλὴν (However) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you) οἱ (-) καθ’ (according to) ἕνα (individual), ἕκαστος (each) τὴν (the) ἑαυτοῦ (of himself) γυναῖκα (wife), οὕτως (so) ἀγαπάτω (let love) ὡς (as) ἑαυτόν (himself); ἡ (-) δὲ (and) γυνὴ (the wife) ἵνα (that) φοβῆται (she may respect) τὸν (the) ἄνδρα (husband).

¹ Τὰ (-) τέκνα (Children), ὑπακούετε (obey) τοῖς (the) γονεῦσιν (parents) ὑμῶν (of you) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord); τοῦτο (this) γάρ (for) ἐστιν (is) δίκαιον (right). ² “Τίμα (Honor) τὸν (the) πατέρα (Father) σου (of you) καὶ (and) τὴν (-) μητέρα (mother),” ἥτις (which) ἐστὶν (is) ἐντολὴ (the commandment) πρώτη (first) ἐν (with) ἐπαγγελίᾳ (a promise), ³ “Ἵνα (that) εὖ (well) σοι (with you) γένηται (it may be), καὶ (and) ἔσῃ (you will be) μακροχρόνιος (long-lived) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth).” ⁴ Καὶ (And) οἱ (-) πατέρες (fathers), μὴ (not) παροργίζετε (provoke) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) ὑμῶν (of you), ἀλλὰ (but) ἐκτρέφετε (bring up) αὐτὰ (them) ἐν (in) παιδείᾳ (the discipline) καὶ (and) νουθεσίᾳ (admonition) Κυρίου (of the Lord). ⁵ Οἱ (-) δοῦλοι (Slaves), ὑπακούετε (obey) τοῖς (the) κατὰ (according to) σάρκα (flesh) κυρίοις (masters) μετὰ (with) φόβου (fear) καὶ (and) τρόμου (trembling), ἐν (in) ἁπλότητι (sincerity) τῆς (of the) καρδίας (heart) ὑμῶν (of you), ὡς (as) τῷ (to) Χριστῷ (Christ), ⁶ μὴ (not) κατ’ (with) ὀφθαλμοδουλίαν (eye-service) ὡς (as) ἀνθρωπάρεσκοι (men-pleasers), ἀλλ’ (but) ὡς (as) δοῦλοι (servants of) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ποιοῦντες (doing) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐκ (from) ψυχῆς (the heart), ⁷ μετ’ (with) εὐνοίας (good will) δουλεύοντες (rendering service), ὡς (as) τῷ (to the) Κυρίῳ (Lord) καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἀνθρώποις (to men), ⁸ εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that) ἕκαστος (each one), ἐάν (if) τι (whatever) ποιήσῃ (he might have done) ἀγαθόν (good), τοῦτο (this) κομίσεται (he will receive back) παρὰ (from) Κυρίου (the Lord), εἴτε (whether) δοῦλος (slave) εἴτε (or) ἐλεύθερος (free). ⁹ Καὶ (And) οἱ (-) κύριοι (masters), τὰ (the same things) αὐτὰ (them) ποιεῖτε (do) πρὸς (toward) αὐτούς (them), ἀνιέντες (giving up) τὴν (the) ἀπειλήν (threatening), εἰδότες (knowing) ὅτι (that) καὶ (also) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) ὑμῶν (of you) ὁ (the) Κύριός (master) ἐστιν (is) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens), καὶ (and) προσωπολημψία (partiality) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) παρ’ (with) αὐτῷ (Him). ¹⁰ Τοῦ (-) λοιποῦ (Henceforth) ἐνδυναμοῦσθε (be empowered) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κράτει (strength) τῆς (of the) ἰσχύος (might) αὐτοῦ (of Him). ¹¹ ἐνδύσασθε (Put on) τὴν (the) πανοπλίαν (complete armor) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), πρὸς (for) τὸ (-) δύνασθαι (to be able) ὑμᾶς (you) στῆναι (to stand) πρὸς (against) τὰς (the) μεθοδείας (schemes) τοῦ (of the) διαβόλου (devil), ¹² ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἡμῖν (to us) ἡ (the) πάλη (wrestling) πρὸς (against) αἷμα (blood) καὶ (and) σάρκα (flesh), ἀλλὰ (but) πρὸς (against) τὰς (the) ἀρχάς (rulers), πρὸς (against) τὰς (the) ἐξουσίας (authorities), πρὸς (against) τοὺς (the) κοσμοκράτορας (cosmic powers) τοῦ (of the) σκότους (darkness) τούτου (this), πρὸς (against) τὰ (the) πνευματικὰ (spiritual forces) τῆς (-) πονηρίας (of evil) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) ἐπουρανίοις (heavenly realms). ¹³ Διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this), ἀναλάβετε (take up) τὴν (the) πανοπλίαν (complete armor) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἵνα (so that) δυνηθῆτε (you may be able) ἀντιστῆναι (to withstand) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἡμέρᾳ (day) τῇ (-) πονηρᾷ (evil), καὶ (and) ἅπαντα (all things) κατεργασάμενοι (having done), στῆναι (to stand). ¹⁴ στῆτε (Stand) οὖν (therefore), περιζωσάμενοι (having girded) τὴν (the) ὀσφὺν (loins) ὑμῶν (of you) ἐν (with) ἀληθείᾳ (truth), καὶ (and) ἐνδυσάμενοι (having put on) τὸν (the) θώρακα (breastplate) τῆς (-) δικαιοσύνης (of righteousness), ¹⁵ καὶ (and) ὑποδησάμενοι (having shod) τοὺς (the) πόδας (feet) ἐν (with) ἑτοιμασίᾳ (the readiness) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel) τῆς (-) εἰρήνης (of peace); ¹⁶ ἐν (besides) πᾶσιν (all), ἀναλαβόντες (having taken up) τὸν (the) θυρεὸν (shield) τῆς (-) πίστεως (of faith), ἐν (with) ᾧ (which) δυνήσεσθε (you will be able) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) βέλη (arrows) τοῦ (of the) πονηροῦ (evil one) τὰ (-) πεπυρωμένα (flaming) σβέσαι (to quench). ¹⁷ καὶ (And) τὴν (the) περικεφαλαίαν (helmet) τοῦ (-) σωτηρίου (of salvation) δέξασθε (take), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μάχαιραν (sword) τοῦ (of the) Πνεύματος (Spirit), ὅ (which) ἐστιν (is) ῥῆμα (the word) Θεοῦ (of God), ¹⁸ διὰ (through) πάσης (all) προσευχῆς (prayer) καὶ (and) δεήσεως (supplication), προσευχόμενοι (praying) ἐν (in) παντὶ (every) καιρῷ (season) ἐν (in) Πνεύματι (the Spirit), καὶ (and) εἰς (unto) αὐτὸ (this very thing), ἀγρυπνοῦντες (watching) ἐν (with) πάσῃ (all) προσκαρτερήσει (perseverance) καὶ (and) δεήσει (supplication) περὶ (for) πάντων (all) τῶν (-) ἁγίων (saints), ¹⁹ καὶ (and also) ὑπὲρ (for) ἐμοῦ (me), ἵνα (that) μοι (to me) δοθῇ (may be given) λόγος (divine utterance) ἐν (in) ἀνοίξει (the opening) τοῦ (of the) στόματός (mouth) μου (of me), ἐν (with) παρρησίᾳ (boldness) γνωρίσαι (to make known) τὸ (the) μυστήριον (mystery) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel), ²⁰ ὑπὲρ (for) οὗ (which) πρεσβεύω (I am an ambassador) ἐν (in) ἁλύσει (a chain), ἵνα (that) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (it) παρρησιάσωμαι (I may be bold), ὡς (as) δεῖ (it behooves) με (me) λαλῆσαι (to speak). ²¹ Ἵνα (That) δὲ (now) εἰδῆτε (may know) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς (you) τὰ (the things) κατ’ (concerning) ἐμέ (me), τί (what) πράσσω (I am doing), πάντα (all things) γνωρίσει (will make known) ὑμῖν (to you) Τυχικὸς (Tychicus), ὁ (the) ἀγαπητὸς (beloved) ἀδελφὸς (brother) καὶ (and) πιστὸς (faithful) διάκονος (servant) ἐν (in) Κυρίῳ (the Lord), ²² ὃν (whom) ἔπεμψα (I have sent) πρὸς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (for) αὐτὸ (this very) τοῦτο (purpose), ἵνα (that) γνῶτε (you may know) τὰ (the things) περὶ (concerning) ἡμῶν (us), καὶ (and) παρακαλέσῃ (he may encourage) τὰς (the) καρδίας (hearts) ὑμῶν (of you). ²³ Εἰρήνη (Peace) τοῖς (to the) ἀδελφοῖς (brothers) καὶ (and) ἀγάπη (love) μετὰ (with) πίστεως (faith) ἀπὸ (from) Θεοῦ (God) Πατρὸς (the Father) καὶ (and) Κυρίου (the Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ). ²⁴ Ἡ (-) χάρις (Grace) μετὰ (be with) πάντων (all) τῶν (those) ἀγαπώντων (loving) τὸν (the) Κύριον (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) Χριστὸν (Christ) ἐν (in) ἀφθαρσίᾳ (incorruptibility).
