³⁴ Jesus answered them, { Verily, verily, I say unto you, Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin.

¹⁶ To deliver thee from the strange woman,
Even from the foreigner that flattereth with her words; ¹⁷ That forsaketh the friend of her youth,
And forgetteth the covenant of her God: ¹⁸ For her house inclineth unto death,
And her paths unto the dead; ¹⁹ None that go unto her return again,
Neither do they attain unto the paths of life: ²⁰ That thou mayest walk in the way of good men,
And keep the paths of the righteous. ²¹ For the upright shall dwell in the land,
And the perfect shall remain in it. ²² But the wicked shall be cut off from the land,
And the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.

¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

³ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh ⁴ (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds), ⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;

²⁸ but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

¹³ He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper:
But whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.

³² but I say unto you, that every one that putteth away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery.

⁴ [Let] marriage [be] had in honor among all, and [let] the bed [be] undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
