⁸ I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'

⁵ God is in her midst—she is not moved, God doth help her at the turn of the morn!

⁷ Haste, answer me, O Jehovah, My spirit hath been consumed, Hide not Thou Thy face from me, Or I have been compared with those going down to the pit. ⁸ Cause me to hear in the morning Thy kindness, For in Thee I have trusted, Cause me to know the way that I go, For unto Thee I have lifted up my soul. ⁹ Deliver me from mine enemies, O Jehovah, Near Thee I am covered.

⁹ then they shall deliver you up to tribulation, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated by all the nations because of my name; ¹⁰ and then shall many be stumbled, and they shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. ¹¹ `And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray; ¹² and because of the abounding of the lawlessness, the love of the many shall become cold; ¹³ but he who did endure to the end, he shall be saved;

²⁴ for there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and they shall give great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, also the chosen.

²⁶ `And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man; <sup>27</sup> they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all; <sup>28</sup> in like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; <sup>29</sup> and on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all. <sup>30</sup> `According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed;

¹ And concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need of my writing to you, ² for yourselves have known thoroughly that the day of the Lord as a thief in the night doth so come, ³ for when they may say, Peace and surety, then sudden destruction doth stand by them, as the travail doth her who is with child, and they shall not escape;

²³ may we hold fast the unwavering profession of the hope, (for faithful is He who did promise), ²⁴ and may we consider one another to provoke to love and to good works, ²⁵ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as a custom of certain is, but exhorting, and so much the more as ye see the day coming nigh. ²⁶ For we—wilfully sinning after the receiving the full knowledge of the truth—no more for sins doth there remain a sacrifice,

¹ Go, now, ye rich! weep, howling over your miseries that are coming upon you; ² your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten; ³ your gold and silver have rotted, and the rust of them for a testimony shall be to you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye made treasure in the last days! ⁴ lo, the reward of the workmen, of those who in-gathered your fields, which hath been fraudulently kept back by you—doth cry out, and the exclamations of those who did reap into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth have entered; ⁵ ye did live in luxury upon the earth, and were wanton; ye did nourish your hearts, as in a day of slaughter; ⁶ ye did condemn—ye did murder the righteous one, he doth not resist you. ⁷ Be patient, then, brethren, till the presence of the Lord; lo, the husbandman doth expect the precious fruit of the earth, being patient for it, till he may receive rain—early and latter; ⁸ be patient, ye also; establish your hearts, because the presence of the Lord hath drawn nigh;

³ and in covetousness, with moulded words, of you they shall make merchandise, whose judgment of old is not idle, and their destruction doth not slumber.

⁸ And this one thing let not be unobserved by you, beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day;
⁹ the Lord is not slow in regard to the promise, as certain count slowness, but is long-suffering to us, not counselling any to be lost but all to pass on to reformation,
