¹⁸ who against hope believed, with hope, that he should be the father of many nations, according to that which was said unto him, "So shall thy seed be."

³⁵ While He was yet speaking, there came some from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying, Thy daughter is dead, why dost thou trouble the Master any more? ³⁶ But Jesus hearing the word that was spoken, immediately saith to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe:

¹⁸ And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife far advanced in years.

¹⁹ And not being weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, being about an hundred years old; nor the deadness of Sarah's womb.

⁵ and experience hope, and this hope maketh us not ashamed; because the love of God is diffused in our hearts by the holy Spirit that is given to us.

²⁴ For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen, is not hope; for what any one sees, how doth he yet hope for?
