¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus, and make not provision for the flesh to gratify its irregular desires.

¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: ¹³ for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if by the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

²⁷ For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ:

¹⁶ I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye will not fulfil the desire of the flesh: ¹⁷ for the flesh desireth things contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit things contrary to the flesh: and these are opposite to each other; so that ye do not those things which ye would.

²⁴ And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires.

²⁴ and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members that are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, disorderly passion, evil concupiscence, and insatiable desire, which is indeed idolatry: ⁶ for which things the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. ⁷ In which ye also formerly walked, when ye lived among them. ⁸ But now put away all these also, wrath, animosity, malice, calumny, and filthy discourse out of your mouth.

¹⁰ and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of Him that created him. ¹¹ Wherein there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free: but Christ is all and in all. ¹² Put on therefore, as the elect of God holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, benignity, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;

¹¹ Dearly beloved, I exhort you as strangers and sojourners here, to abstain from carnal lusts, which war against the soul:

¹⁵ Love not the world, nor the things that are in the world; for if any one love the world to excess, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh, and the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passeth away, and the desire of it: but he, that doth the will of God, abideth for ever.
