¹⁸ and if thou boastest, remember thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

²² Ye worship ye know not what; but we worship what we know: for salvation is from the Jews.

¹⁶ And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; so there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

²⁷ Where then is boasting? it is excluded: by what law? of works? no: but by the law of faith.

¹⁶ And therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace, that so the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

²⁰ Well; they were broken off for their infidelity, and thou standest by faith: therefore be not high-minded but fear.

¹² Wherefore let him, that thinks he standeth, take heed least he fall.

²⁹ And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the houshold of God; ²⁰ being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner-stone:
