³² fill up then the measure of your fathers, ye serpents, ye brood of vipers:

²¹ Blessed are ye that hunger now; for ye shall be satisfied. Blessed are ye that weep now; for ye shall laugh.

³⁸ brought an alabaster-box of ointment, and stood at his feet behind Him, weeping, and washed his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

³⁰ And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina, an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. ³¹ Now Moses, when he saw it, was amazed at the sight; and as he came near to observe it, there was a voice of the Lord to him, ³² saying, "I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;" but Moses trembling durst not look on. ³³ And the Lord said to him, "Take off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place on which thou standest is holy ground.

²⁰ And after these things, about the space of four hundred and fifty years, He gave them judges till Samuel the prophet.

³⁶ Now David having served his own generation according to the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption: but He whom God raised,

⁹ And the Lord said to Paul by a vision in the night, "Fear not, but speak: and be not silent: ¹⁰ for I am with thee, and no man shall lay hands on thee to hurt thee; for I have much people in this city."

⁵ For though there be some that are called Gods, whether in heaven or on earth, (as there are among the heathen gods many,

²⁰ No: but this I say, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God. ²¹ And I would not have you partakers with demons. Ye cannot drink of the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons. ²² Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He?

⁸ being afflicted on every side, but not oppressed; perplexed, but not in despair;

¹⁴ Be not unsuitably connected with infidels: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? or what communion hath light with darkness? ¹⁵ what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath a believer with an infidel? ¹⁶ and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, "I will dwell in them, and I will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." ¹⁷ Wherefore, "come out from the midst of them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch no unclean thing," and I will receive you:

¹⁰ For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

⁶ I wonder that ye are so soon removed from him who called you by the grace of Christ to another gospel: which is not another;

⁸ But then indeed, when ye knew not God, ye served those which in reality are no gods. ⁹ But now that ye know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that ye turn again to the poor weak elements, to which ye desire again to be in bondage as before?

¹² Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed the gospel, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence; be still working out your own salvation though with fear and trembling:

⁸ with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁶ They profess to know God, but in works deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and to every thing that is good void of understanding.

⁹ Be grieved, and mourn, and weep: let your mirth be turned into mourning, and your joy to sadness.

¹⁷ For the time is coming when judgement is to begin at the house of God: and if at us first, what will be the end of those that obey not the gospel of God?

¹ And there came one of the seven angels, that had the seven vials, and talked with me and said, Come hither, and I will shew thee the judgement of the great harlot, that sitteth upon many waters: ² with whom the kings of the earth have committed whoredom, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her whoredom. ³ And he transported me in spirit into the wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-coloured beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. ⁴ And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of the stench and filth of her whoredom. ⁵ And upon her forehead was a name written, "Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots, and of the abominations of the earth."
