⁶ and the powers of the gospel-age, and yet fall away, should be renewed again to repentance: since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and make an open example of Him.

²⁶ But Jesus looking upon them said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

³¹ so that ye are witnesses yourselves, that ye are the children of those who killed the prophets: ³² fill up then the measure of your fathers, ye serpents, ye brood of vipers:

³⁸ And there were two thieves crucified with Him: one on his right hand, and one on the left. ³⁹ And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads, ⁴⁰ and saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it again in three days, save thyself: if thou art the Son of God, come down from the cross. ⁴¹ And in like manner the chief priests also insulting Him, with the scribes and elders, ⁴² said, He saved others, himself He cannot save: if He be the king of Israel, let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe Him: ⁴³ He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will own Him; for He said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ And one of the thieves also, that were crucified with Him, cast the same reproach upon Him.

²⁹ And they that passed by reviled Him, shaking their heads and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest, the temple, ³⁰ and buildest it in three days, save thyself and come down from the cross. ³¹ And the chief priests likewise scoffing at Him among themselves, with the scribes, said, He saved others, Himself He cannot save: let Christ, ³² the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe in Him. And even they that were crucified with Him, reviled Him.

⁴⁸ Thus ye testify that ye approve of the deeds of your fathers; for they put them to death, and ye build their sepulchres.

³⁵ And the people stood looking on, and even the rulers also with them derided Him, saying, He saved others, let Him save Himself, if He be the Christ the chosen of God. ³⁶ And the soldiers too insulted Him, coming to Him and offering Him vinegar, saying, ³⁷ If thou art the king of the Jews, save thyself. ³⁸ And there was a superscription written over Him in Greek, and Latin and Hebrew letters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ³⁹ And one of the malefactors that were executed with Him reviled Him, saying, If thou be the Messiah, save thyself and us.

²⁵ with meekness instructing those of different sentiments, not knowing but God may give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth;

⁴ who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the holy Spirit,

²⁹ of how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he be counted worthy, who hath trampled under foot the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and abused the Spirit of grace?

² looking unto Jesus the leader and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

²¹ for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than when they knew it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

¹⁶ If any one see his brother commit a sin which is not unto death, let him pray for him, and God will give him life, that is for them that do not sin unto death. There is a sin unto death: and for that I do not say that he should pray.
