¹⁹ which we have as an anchor of the soul safe and stedfast, and which entereth within the veil.

⁵¹ And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split:

²⁹ Then fearing least they should fall upon some rocky places, they cast four anchors out of the stern and wished for day.

⁴⁰ And when they had taken up the anchors, they trusted the ship to the sea, at the same time, loosing the rudder-bands; and hoisting up the main-sail to the wind, they made to the shore.

¹⁶ And therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace, that so the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

⁵ and experience hope, and this hope maketh us not ashamed; because the love of God is diffused in our hearts by the holy Spirit that is given to us. ⁶ For when we were yet without strength, Christ died in due season for the ungodly. ⁷ Whereas one would hardly die for a just man, though perhaps for a good man one might dare even to die. ⁸ But God recommendeth his love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through Him. ¹⁰ For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more being reconciled shall we be saved by his life.

²⁸ And we know that all things co-operate for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose; ²⁹ for those whom he foreknew, He also predetermined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be as the first-born among many brethren: and whom He before ordained, these He also called; ³⁰ and whom He called, these he also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What shall we say then to these things? if God be for us, who can be against us? ³² He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall lay any accusation against the elect of God? will God, who justifieth us? ³⁴ Who is he that condemneth? Is it Christ, that died for us? yea rather, that is risen again, who is also at the right hand of God, and who maketh intercession for us? ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ (as it is written, "for thy sake we are killed all the day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter:") ³⁷ but in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things future, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

⁵⁸ Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

⁶ and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

¹ If ye then be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God.

¹⁹ However, the foundation of God standeth firm, having this inscription, The Lord knoweth them that are his; and, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

¹⁶ Let us therefore come with freedom to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace for our seasonable help.

³ And beyond the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of holies, having the golden censer,

⁷ but into the second only the high-priest went once a year; and that not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the sins of the people committed through ignorance.

²⁰ the new and living way which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, ²¹ his flesh, and having a great high-priest over the house of God,
