⁹ He became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey Him:

²⁴ Whoever therefore heareth these words of mine, and performeth them, I will compare him to a prudent man, who built his house on a rock: ²⁵ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not; for it was founded upon a rock. ²⁶ And whoever heareth these words of mine, and performeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand: ²⁷ and the rain fell upon it, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell, and the fall thereof was great.

⁵ And as he was speaking, lo a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.

³² And He said to them, Go, tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and to-morrow; and in a little while I am to be perfected:

³⁰ And when Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished. And reclining his head, He yielded up the ghost.

¹⁵ and put to death the prince of life; whom God hath raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

¹² And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we can be saved.

³² and we are his witnesses of what we declare; and so is the holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him.

⁵ by whom we have received grace and apostleship to preach the obedience of faith for his name's sake, to all nations;

⁸ but to those who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that ye who were servants of sin, have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you:

¹⁶ But all have not obeyed the gospel: for Esaias saith, "Lord, who hath believed our report?"

¹⁸ For I shall not go about to speak of any thing, but what Christ hath wrought by me, (to gain the obedience of the Gentiles,) both in word and deed:

⁵ destroying false reasonings, and every height that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and captivating every thought to the obedience of Christ.

⁸ with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁶ And may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation, and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts,

¹⁰ Therefore I submit to every thing for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is by Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

³ how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which began to be declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that heard Him;

¹⁰ For it became Him for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect by sufferings:

¹² nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

¹⁵ And on this account He is the mediator of a new covenant, that undergoing death for the redemption of transgressions against the first covenant, they that are called might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.

⁸ By faith Abraham when called to go out to a place which he was afterwards to receive for an inheritance obeyed: and went out, though he knew not whither he was going.

⁴⁰ God having provided something better concerning us, that without us they might not be made perfect.

² looking unto Jesus the leader and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

²² Having therefore purified your souls by obedience to the truth, through the Spirit, to brotherly love unfeigned, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

²⁰ But we know that the son of God is come, and hath given us understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, and in his son Jesus Christ: He is the true God, and eternal life.
