² and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted. ⁵ Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.

²⁹ Take but my yoke upon you, and learn of me, (for I am meek and lowly in heart,) and ye shall find refreshment to your souls:

¹⁹ And He answered and said, O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me.

¹⁹ Serving the Lord with all humility, and many tears, and trials which befel me by the ambushes of the Jews.

¹ Now we that are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves:

⁴ Charity beareth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity is not insolent, is not puffed up, ⁵ doth not behave indecently, is not selfish, is not easily provoked,

⁷ covereth all faults, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, ²³ gentleness, goodness, fidelity, meekness, temperance: against such things there is no law.

² Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

⁴ according as he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and unblameable before Him in love:

¹² Put on therefore, as the elect of God holy and beloved, bowels of mercy, benignity, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering; ¹³ bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any one has a complaint against any: even as Christ hath forgiven you, so also do ye.

¹¹ But do thou, O man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, piety, fidelity, love, patience, meekness.

²⁵ with meekness instructing those of different sentiments, not knowing but God may give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth;

²¹ Laying aside therefore all filthiness, and excess of malice, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

¹⁵ this is not the wisdom, that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and diabolical: ¹⁶ for where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above first is pure, then peaceable, mild, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those that promote peace.

¹⁵ and be always ready to answer every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and reverence:
