²⁶ And as he began to speak openly in the synagogue, Aquila and Priscilla heard him and took him home, and expounded to him the way of God more perfectly.

³ and said, Verily I declare unto you, unless ye be converted, and become like little children, ye shall never enter into the kingdom of heaven. ⁴ Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he shall be greatest in the kingdom of heaven:

¹⁵ Verily I tell you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall by no means enter into it.

²⁶ for I tell you, that to every one that hath shall be given; but from him that hath not, even what he seemingly hath shall be taken away.

²⁷ And beginning from Moses, and all the prophets, He explained to them in all the scriptures the things that were spoken concerning Himself.

¹⁷ If any man desire to do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

³¹ And he said, How can I, unless some one guide me? and he desired Philip to come up and sit with him.

³ They therefore stayed a considerable time speaking freely of the Lord, who bare witness to the word of his grace, and gave signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

² And finding there a certain Jew, named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who was lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, (because Claudius Cesar had ordered all the Jews to depart from Rome,) he went to them; ³ and as he was of the same trade, he staid and worked with them: for they were tent-makers.

²⁵ Who had been instructed in the way of our Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught clearly the things of the Lord, though he knew only the baptism of John.

²³ And having appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging; to whom he discoursed and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them of the things concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses, and from the prophets, from morning till evening.

¹⁸ Let no one deceive himself: if any among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be truly wise.

² And if any one be conceited of his knowledge, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

²¹ And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

¹⁹ and for me particularly, that utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth with freedom, to make known the mystery of the gospel: ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador though in chains: that I may speak boldly in behalf of it, as I ought to speak.

¹ Wherefore omitting the discourse about the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us proceed to perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works,

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: to Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
