⁵ Peter was therefore kept in custody: but incessant prayer was made to God for him by the church.

¹⁹ And I tell you moreover, that if but two of you shall agree on earth concerning any thing which they would ask for, it shall be granted them by my Father who is in heaven:

¹ And He spake also a parable to them, to shew that men ought always to pray, and not to faint:

¹² And considering with himself, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, who was sirnamed Mark, where many were gathered together and praying.

²⁶ And so if one member suffer all the members suffer with it; and if one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

¹¹ you also assisting by prayer for us, that the favor obtained for us by the prayers of many might be thankfully acknowledged by many on our account.

¹⁸ praying at all seasons with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance, and intercession for all the saints; ¹⁹ and for me particularly, that utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth with freedom, to make known the mystery of the gospel: ²⁰ for which I am an ambassador though in chains: that I may speak boldly in behalf of it, as I ought to speak.

¹⁷ Pray continually.

³ Remember those that are in bonds, as if bound with them: and those that suffer evil as being yourselves also in the body.

¹⁶ Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed: the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
