²² Abstain from all appearance of evil.

²⁶ Peter saith unto Him, Of others. Jesus answered him, Then are the children free: ²⁷ but that we may not give them offence, go to the sea-side and throw in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and open its mouth, and thou shalt find a piece of money: that take and give them for me and thee.

¹⁷ Render to no one evil for evil: behaving honorably in the sight of all men.

¹³ wherefore if meat make my brother to offend, I will never eat flesh while I breathe, least I make my brother to offend.

³¹ Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. ³² Behave inoffensively both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, and to the church of God. ³³ Even as I also endeavour to please all men in all things, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

³ We give no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

²⁰ hereby taking care that no one might blame us in the disposal of this large sum which is administered by us: ²¹ looking to things that are right not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

⁸ Finally my brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are venerable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are friendly, whatever things are reputable, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think of these things:

¹² as we gave you in charge, that ye may walk decently toward those that are without, and may have need of no one's assistance.

²³ as snatching them out of the fire: hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
