²⁶ Wherefore I call you to witness this day, that I am clear from the blood of all men. ²⁷ For I have not failed to declare unto you all the counsel of God. ²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the holy Spirit hath appointed you bishops, to feed the church of God, which He purchased with his own blood.

³³ I have coveted no one's silver, or gold, or apparel: ³⁴ and ye yourselves know that these hands have ministred to my necessities, and to those that were with me.

¹³ But Paul answered, What do ye mean, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

¹⁵ therefore am I ready, as much as in me lies, to preach the gospel to you also that are at Rome.

⁷ Who ever goes a warfare at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and doth not eat of the fruit of it? or who feedeth a flock, and doth not eat of the milk of the flock?

¹⁶ For if I preach the gospel, yet I have no ground for boasting; because I am under necessity to do it: and wo is me if I do not preach the Gospel. ¹⁷ Now if I do this willingly, I have a reward; and if unwillingly, yet I am intrusted with the commission, and I must execute it.

¹⁴ Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not your substance, but your selves. For children are not expected to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children. ¹⁵ And I will with the greatest pleasure spend and be spent for your souls; even though the more I love you, the less I should be loved.

³ hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of sordid gain, moderate, not quarrelsome,

⁸ The deacons should likewise be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of base gain,

⁷ For a bishop must be blameless as the steward of God, not self-willed, not passionate, not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of sordid gain:

¹¹ who subvert whole families, teaching what they ought not, for shameful gain:

¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify to Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

¹ Admonish them to be submissive to governors and magistrates, to obey their orders, and to be ready to every good work;

¹⁴ But I would do nothing without thy knowledge, that thy kindness might not be as it were forced, but voluntary.

¹⁵ looking to it, least there be any one falling short of the grace of God, least any root of bitterness springing up should be troublesome, and by it many be defiled:

³ and by artful speeches they will make sale of you for gain. Whose judgement is long since hastening, and their destruction doth not slumber.

¹² the lading of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearl, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and all sorts of thyine wood, and vessels of ivory, and of the most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble; ¹³ and their cinnamon, and perfumes, and sweet ointment, and incense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, yea and the souls of men.
