¹¹ because there was born to-day, in the city of David, a Saviour, Who is Christ the Lord.

¹⁶ and Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, Who is called Christ.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus; for He will save His people from their sins."

¹⁶ And Simon Peter, answering, said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."

²⁰ Then He charged the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Christ.

⁴³ And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me!

⁶⁹ and raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of David His servant;

⁴ And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David;

²⁶ And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death, before he should see the Christ of the Lord.

⁴¹ And He said to them, "How say they that the Christ is David's Son? ⁴² For David himself says in the book of Psalms, 'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit Thou on My right hand, ⁴³ until I make Thy enemies a footstool of Thy feet.' ⁴⁴ David, therefore, calls Him Lord; and how is He his Son?"

⁴¹ He first finds his own brother Simon, and says to him, "We have found the Messiah," (which, being translated, is Christ).

⁴⁵ Philip finds Nathanael, and says to him, "We have found Him of Whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph."

⁴² and they said to the woman, "Now we no longer believe because of your saying; for we ourselves have heard, and know that This is, in truth, the Savior of the world."

⁶⁹ And we have believed and know, that Thou art the Holy One of God."

²⁵ Some, therefore, of those of Jerusalem said, "Is not This He Whom they are seeking to kill? ²⁶ And, behold, He is speaking openly, and they say nothing to Him! Did the rulers ever truly know that This is the Christ? ²⁷ But as to This Man we know whence He is; but, when the Christ cometh, no one knows whence He is."

⁴¹ others said, "This is the Christ;" but some said, "What? doth the Christ come out of Nazareth?"

²⁷ She says to Him, "Yea, Lord; I have believed that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, He Who was to come into the world."

³¹ but these have been written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that, believing, ye may have life in His name.

³⁶ "Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God made Him both Lord and Christ—This Jesus Whom ye crucified."

³¹ This One God exalted as a Prince and Savior, with His right hand, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.

³⁶ He sent the word to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the glad tidings of peace through Jesus Christ, (He is Lord of all):

³ opening and setting forth that it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead; and that "This Jesus Whom I am proclaiming to you, is the Christ."

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth earthy; the second Man is from Heaven.

⁴ But, when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under law, ⁵ that He might redeem those under law, that, we might receive the adoption of sons.

¹¹ and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

⁸ Nay, more, I even account all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I suffered the loss of all things, and account them refuse, that I may gain Christ.

⁶ As, therefore, ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him;

⁹ Who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose, and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus before eternal ages, ¹⁰ but now made manifest through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus; Who abolished death, and brought to light life and incorruption through the Gospel;

¹⁰ not keeping back anything, but showing forth all good faith; that they may adorn the teaching of our Savior God in all things. ¹¹ For the salvation-imparting grace of God appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly, and righteously, and godly in the present age; ¹³ looking for the blissful hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; ¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

⁴ But, when the kindness and the benevolence of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy, He saved us through a washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit; ⁶ Whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior; ⁷ that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁴ And we have beheld, and testify, that the Father hath sent the Son, as Savior of the world.

¹ Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been begotten of God; and every one who loves Him Who begat loves him also that has been begotten of Him.
