¹⁶ But Peter was standing at the door without. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spake to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

⁶⁹ And Peter was sitting without, in the court; and a certain maid-servant approached him, saying, "And you were with Jesus the Galilaean!"

⁶⁶ And, as Peter was beneath in the court, there comes one of the maids of the high priest; ⁶⁷ and, seeing Peter warming himself, she looked at him, and says, "You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus." ⁶⁸ But he denied, saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are saying." And he went out into the porch [and the cock crowed].
