¹⁶ Confess, therefore, your sins one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. A righteous man's inwrought supplication avails much.

⁶ and they were being immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

⁷ "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you; ⁸ for every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened. ⁹ Or what man is there of you who, if his son shall ask him for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent? ¹¹ If, therefore, ye, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those asking Him?

¹⁵ "And, if your brother sin against you, go show him his fault between you and him alone. If he hear you, you gained your brother; ¹⁶ but, if he hear you not, take with you yet one or two, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three, every word may be established. ¹⁷ And, if he disregard them, tell it to the assembly; and, if he disregard the assembly also, let him be to you as the gentile and the tax-collector.

²² And all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

³ And, having heard about Jesus, he sent to Him elders of the Jews, asking Him, that, having come, He would thoroughly save his servant. ⁴ And they, coming to Jesus, were earnestly beseeching Him, saying, "He is worthy for whom Thou shalt do this;

⁶ And, going forth, they were passing through the several villages, proclaiming the good news, and healing everywhere.

¹¹ And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask bread, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he, instead of a fish, give him a serpent? ¹² or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion? ¹³ If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

¹ And He spake a parable to them, to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint; ² saying, "There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, nor regarded man. ³ And there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Avenge me of my adversary.' ⁴ And he would not for a time; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I fear not God, nor regard man; ⁵ yet, because this widow occasions me trouble, I will avenge her, lest, by her persistent coming, she wear me out.'" ⁶ And the Lord said, "Hear what the judge of unrighteousness says. ⁷ And will not God avenge His elect, who are crying to Him day and night, and He is long suffering over them? ⁸ I say to you, that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, will the Son of Man, when He cometh, find the faith on the earth?"

³¹ We know that God heareth not sinners; but, if any one is a worshiper of God, and does His will, him He heareth.

²⁴ And they, having heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, "Lord, Thou Who didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all things in them; ²⁵ Who, through the Holy Spirit by the mouth of our father David, Thy servant, didst say, 'Why did the gentiles rage, and the peoples premeditate empty things? ²⁶ The kings of the earth did set themselves in array; and the rulers assembled together, against the Lord, and against His Christ.' ²⁷ For, of a truth, there were gathered together in this city, against Thy Holy Child Jesus, Whom Thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the gentiles and peoples of Israel— ²⁸ to do whatsoever Thy hand and Thy counsel predetermined to come to pass. ²⁹ And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings; and grant to Thy servants to speak Thy word with all boldness, ³⁰ by stretching forth Thy hand for healing; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Thy Holy Child Jesus." ³¹ And, when they had prayed, the place in which they had assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and were speaking the word of God with boldness.

³⁸ how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power; Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the Devil; because God was with Him.

⁵ Peter, therefore, was kept in the prison; but prayer was being earnestly made by the assembly to God in his behalf. ⁶ And, when Herod was about to bring him forth, in that night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains; and guards before the door were keeping the prison. ⁷ And, behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shined in the cell; and, smiting the side of Peter, he raised him up, saying, "Rise up quickly!" And his chains fell off from his hands. ⁸ And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself, and bind on your sandals." And he did so. And he says to him, "Cast your garment around you, and follow me." ⁹ And, going forth, he was following him; and he knew not that it was true, which was being done by the angel, but was thinking that he saw a vision. ¹⁰ And, having passed the first and second watch; they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and, going out, they passed on through one street, and straightway the angel departed from him. ¹¹ And Peter, having come to himself, said, "Now I know truly that the Lord sent forth His angel, and delivered me out of Herod's hand, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

¹⁸ Many also of those who had believed were coming, confessing, and declaring their practices.

¹⁰ as it has been written, "There is none righteous, no not one;

¹⁹ For as, through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners; so also through the obedience of the One, shall the many be constituted righteous.

⁹ For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, cease not praying for you, and asking that ye may be filled with the full knowledge of His will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

¹⁷ pray without ceasing.

²³ And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ Brethren, pray for us.

⁴ By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he received witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he, being dead, is still speaking.

⁷ By faith Noah, being divinely instructed concerning things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

¹³ and make straight paths for your feet, that the lame be not turned out of the way, but rather be healed.

¹⁸ Pray for us; for we are persuaded that we have a good conscience, desiring to deport ourselves honestly in all things.

²⁴ Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by Whose bruise ye were healed.

²² and whatsoever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do the things that are pleasing before Him.
