¹¹ Behold, we pronounce those happy who endured: ye heard of the patience of Job; and ye saw the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

¹² Happy is a man who endures temptation; because, when he becomes approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to those who love Him.

⁶ in which ye exult, though now, for a little while, if necessary, made sorrowful in manifold temptations; ⁷ that the proving of your faith—being much more precious than gold that perishes, but is proved through fire—may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

¹³ Wherefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, hope perfectly for the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

⁹ the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous enduring punishment unto the day of judgment;
