⁵ Likewise, ye younger, be subject to the elder; yea, all of you gird on the lowly mind to serve one another; because "God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the lowly."

¹⁰ in brotherly love being tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor, preferring one another;

¹⁴ but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill its desires.

²¹ submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ;

³ doing nothing through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind, each esteeming others better than himself;

³ whose adorning, let it not be the outward one of braiding of hair and of wearing of golden ornaments, or of putting on apparel; ⁴ but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.

¹ Christ, therefore, having suffered in flesh, do ye also arm yourselves with the same mind; because he who suffered in flesh has ceased from sin;

⁵ who shall render an account to Him Who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
