So they began to celebrate. ²⁵ "Now his elder son was in the field. So, on coming in, as he came near the house, he heard music and dancing.

³² But we just had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life, was lost and has been found.'"

¹⁵ And He said to them, "I have heartily desired to eat this Passover supper with you before I suffer. ¹⁶ For I tell you, I shall never again eat one until it finds its full fruition in the kingdom of God." ¹⁷ Then He received a cup of wine, gave thanks, and said, "Take this and share it among you, ¹⁸ for I tell you, I shall not after today drink the product of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."

²⁹ and as my Father has conferred on me a kingdom, ³⁰ so I confer on you the privilege of eating and drinking at my table in my kingdom and of sitting on thrones and judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹¹ "I have told you these things, that the joy which I have had may remain in you and that your joy may be complete.

²² So you too are now in sorrow, but I am going to see you again, and then your hearts will be happy, and no one can rob you of your happiness.

¹³ And now I am going to be with you, and I am saying these things while still in the world, that the joy which I experience may be fully experienced in their own souls.

⁴¹ not by all the people but by witnesses whom God had beforehand appointed, namely, by us who ate and drank with Him after His resurrection from the dead.

² keeping our eyes on Jesus, the perfect leader and example of faith, who, instead of the joy which lay before Him, endured the cross with no regard for its shame, and since has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

⁸ When He took it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each with a harp, and golden bowls that were full of incense, which represent the prayers of God's people. ⁹ Then they sang a new song: "You deserve to take the book and break its seals, because you have been slaughtered, and with your blood have bought men from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation, ¹⁰ and have made them a kingdom of priests for our God; and they will rule over the earth."

¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."

³ They were singing a new song before the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders, and no one could learn the song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who had been redeemed from the earth.
