²⁵ And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on earth despair of nations in bewilderment at the roaring of the sea and its waves, ²⁶ men fainting with fear and apprehension of the things that are to come upon the world, for the powers of the sky will be shaken. ²⁷ Then they will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud in overwhelming power and splendor.

¹⁹ I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs upon the earth below, yes, blood and fire and smoky mist. ²⁰ The sun will turn to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

¹⁰ The day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a roar, the heavenly bodies will be destroyed by being burned up, and the earth with all its works will melt away.

¹² since you are awaiting and hastening the coming of the day of God, which will cause the heavens to blaze and dissolve and the heavenly bodies to burn up and melt away!

¹² When He broke the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun turned black as sackcloth, and the full moon became like blood, ¹³ and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, just as a fig tree, when shaken by a violent wind, drops its unripe figs. ¹⁴ The sky was swept away just like a scroll that is rolled up; and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it, from whose presence earth and sky fled away, no more to be found.
