⁶ I am astonished that you are beginning so soon to turn away from Him who called you by the favor of Christ, to a different good news,

⁶ And He wondered at their lack of faith in Him. Then He made a circle of the villages and continued teaching.

³⁰ The man answered them, "Well, there is something strange about this! You do not know where He comes from! And yet He has made my eyes to see!

¹¹ In fact, we believe that it is through the favor of the Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

² by whom we have an introduction through faith into this state of God's favor, in which we safely stand; and let us continue exulting in the hope of enjoying the glorious presence of God.

³ For they were ignorant of God's way of right standing and were trying to set up one of their own, and so would not surrender to God's way of right standing.

¹⁵ For though you have ten thousand teachers in the Christian life, you certainly could not have many fathers. For it was I myself who became your father through your union with Christ Jesus, which resulted from my telling you the good news.

⁴ For if anybody comes along and preaches another Jesus than the one I preached, or you receive another spirit different from the one you did receive or a glad message different from the one you did accept, you listen to it all right!

¹ O senseless Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose very eyes Jesus Christ was pictured as the crucified One? ² I want to ask you only this one thing: Did you receive the Spirit by doing what the law commands, or by believing the message you heard? ³ Are you so senseless? Did you begin by the Spirit, but are now approaching perfection by fleshly means? ⁴ Have you suffered so much for nothing? If it really is for nothing. ⁵ Now when He supplies you with the Spirit and performs His wonder-works among you, does He do it because you do what the law commands, or because you believe the message that you heard --

⁹ but now, since you have come to know God, or rather have come to be known by Him, how can you turn back to your own crude notions, so weak and worthless, and wish to become slaves to them again? ¹⁰ You are observing days, months, seasons, years. ¹¹ I am beginning to fear that I have bestowed my labors on you for nothing. ¹² I beg you, brothers, take my point of view, just as I took yours. You did me no injustice then. ¹³ And yet you know that it was because of an illness of mine that I preached the good news to you the first time, ¹⁴ but still you did not scorn the test my illness made of you, nor did you spurn me for it; on the contrary, you welcomed me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus Himself. ¹⁵ Where is your self-congratulation? For I can testify that you would have torn out your very eyes, if you could, and have given them to me.

⁴ You people, whoever you are among you, who try to get into right standing with God, through law have cut yourselves off from Christ, you have missed the way of God's favor.

⁷ You were running beautifully! Who was it that cut into your way and kept you from obeying the truth? ⁸ Such persuasion never came from Him who called you.

¹⁴ and to this end He called you by our preaching of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

³ As I begged you to do when I was on my way to Macedonia, I still beg you to stay on in Ephesus to warn certain teachers

¹⁴ and the spiritual blessing of our Lord in increasing floods has come upon me, accompanied by faith and love inspired by union with Christ Jesus.

⁹ For He saved us and called us with a holy call, not in accordance with anything that we had done, but in accordance with His own purpose and unmerited favor which was shown us through union with Christ Jesus eternal ages ago,

¹ So you, my son, must keep renewing your strength in the spiritual blessing that comes through union with Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ but in accordance with the Holy Being who has called you, you must prove to be holy too,

³ because His divine power has given us everything that is needful for life and piety, through our full knowledge of Him who through His glory and excellence has called us to Him.

²¹ The spiritual blessing of the Lord Jesus be with His people.
