1 Corinthians 1 Cross References - Williams

1 Paul, by the will of God called as an apostle of Jesus Christ, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 to the church of God at Corinth, to those who are consecrated by union with Christ Jesus, and called to be God's people, in fellowship with those who anywhere call upon the name of Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: 3 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I am always thanking God for you, for the spiritual blessing given you by God through union with Christ Jesus; 5 because you have in everything been richly blessed through union with Him, with perfect expression and fullness of knowledge. 6 In this way my testimony to Christ has been confirmed in your experience, 7 so that there is no spiritual gift in which you consciously come short, while you are waiting for the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 and to the very end He will guarantee that you are vindicated at the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is entirely trustworthy, and it is He through whom you have been called into this fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 Now I beg you all, brothers, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, to be harmonious in what you say and not to have factions among you, but to be perfectly harmonious in your minds and judgments. 11 For I have been informed about you, my brothers, by Chloe's people, that there are wranglings among you. 12 I mean this, that one of you says, "I belong to Paul's party," another, "And I belong to Apollos' party," another, "And I belong to Cephas' party," another, "And I belong to Christ's party." 13 Christ has been parceled out by you! It was not Paul who was crucified for you, was it? You were not baptized in Paul's name, were you? 14 I am thankful that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Gaius, 15 so as to keep anyone from saying that you were baptized in my name. 16 Yes, I did baptize the family of Stephanas, too; I do not now recall that I baptized anyone else. 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the good news -- but not by means of wisdom and rhetoric, so that the cross of Christ may not be emptied of its power. 18 For the message of the cross is nonsense to those who are in the process of being destroyed, but it is the power of God to those who are in the process of being saved. 19 For the Scripture says: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will set aside the learning of the learned." 20 So where is your philosopher? Where is your man of letters? Where is your logician of this age? Has not God shown up the nonsense of the world's wisdom? 21 For since in accordance with the wisdom of God the world had never in reality, by means of its wisdom, come to know God, God chose through the nonsense of the message proclaimed, to save the people who put their faith in Him. 22 While Jews are demanding spectacular signs and Greeks are searching for philosophy, 23 we are preaching the Christ who was crucified -- a message that is a trap-stick to the Jews and nonsense to the Greeks, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks alike, the Christ who is God's power and God's wisdom. 25 It is so, because God's nonsense is wiser than men's wisdom, and God's weakness is mightier than men's might. 26 For consider, brothers, the way God called you; that not many of you, in accordance with human standards, were wise, not many influential, not many of high birth. 27 Just the opposite: God chose what the world calls foolish to put the wise to shame, what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame, 28 what the world calls of low degree, yea, what it counts as nothing and what it thinks does not exist, God chose to put a stop to what it thinks exists, 29 so that no mortal man might ever boast in the presence of God. 30 So you owe it all to Him through union with Christ Jesus, whom God has made our wisdom, our means of right standing, our consecration, and our redemption, 31 so that, as the Scripture says, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

John 4:46-53

46 So He came back to Cana in Galilee where He had turned the water into wine. Now there was at Capernaum an officer of the king's court whose son was sick. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to Him and began to beg Him to come down and cure his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, "Unless you see signs and wonders, you will never believe." 49 The king's officer pleaded with Him, "Sir, come down at once before my child is dead!" 50 Jesus said to him, "You may go; your son is going to live." The man believed what Jesus said to him and started home. 51 While he was still coming down, his slaves met him and told him, "Your boy is going to live." 52 So he asked them at what hour he began to get better, and they said to him, "Yesterday at one o'clock the fever left him." 53 Then the father knew that that was the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son is going to live." So he and his whole household believed in Jesus.

Whoever continues to eat this bread will live forever." 59 He said this as He taught in the synagogue at Capernaum. 60 So many of His disciples, when they heard it, said, "This teaching is hard to take in. Who can listen to it?" 61 But as Jesus naturally knew that His disciples were grumbling about this, He said to them, "Is this shocking to you? 62 Suppose you were to see the Son of Man going back where He was before? 63 The Spirit is what gives life; the flesh does not help at all. The truths that I have told you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you who do not trust in me." For Jesus knew from the start who they were that did not trust in Him, and who it was that was going to betray Him. 65 So He continued, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me, unless it is granted to him by my Father." 66 As a result of this many of His disciples turned their backs on Him and stopped accompanying Him.

For it is evident to everybody living in Jerusalem that an unmistakable wonder-work has been done by them; and we cannot deny it. 17 But to keep it from spreading farther among the people, let us severely threaten them not to say anything at all to anyone else about this person." 18 So they called them in and ordered them not to speak or teach at all about the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered them, "You must decide whether it is right in the sight of God to obey you instead of Him, 20 for we cannot keep from telling what we have seen and heard." 21 So, after further threatening them, they turned them loose, because they could not find any way to punish them, on account of the people, because they all continued to praise God for what had taken place,

11 But that same night the Lord stood by Paul's side and said, "Courage! For just as you have testified for me in Jerusalem, you must testify for me in Rome, too."

Acts 24:24-25

24 Some days later, Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul and heard him talk about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 But as he continued to talk about uprightness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became alarmed, and said, "For the present you may go, but when I find a good opportunity, I will send for you."

Acts 26:17-18

17 I will continue to rescue you from the Jewish people and from the heathen to whom I am going to send you, 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan's power to God, so as to have their sins forgiven and have a possession among those that are consecrated by faith in me.'

Acts 26:18-18

18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan's power to God, so as to have their sins forgiven and have a possession among those that are consecrated by faith in me.'

Acts 28:23

23 So they set a day for him, and came in large numbers to see him at the place where he was lodging, and from morning till night he continued to explain to them the kingdom of God, at the same time giving them his own testimony and trying from the law of Moses and the prophets to convince them about Jesus.

Romans 1:1

1 Paul, a slave of Jesus Christ, called as an apostle, set apart to preach God's good news,

Romans 1:4

4 proved to be God's Son in power by the resurrection from the dead -- I mean, Jesus Christ, our Lord, 5 through whom we have received God's favor and a commission as an apostle in His name to urge upon all the heathen obedience inspired by faith,

Romans 1:7

7 to all those in Rome who are God's loved ones, called to be His people: spiritual blessing and peace be yours from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 First, through Jesus Christ I thank my God for you all, because the report of your faith is spreading all over the world.

Romans 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the good news, for it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who trusts, of the Jew first and then of the Greek. 17 For in the good news God's Way of man's right standing with Him is uncovered, the Way of faith that leads to greater faith, just as the Scripture says, "The upright man must live by faith."

Romans 1:20-22

20 Forever since the creation of the world, His invisible characteristics -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been made intelligible and clearly visible by His works. So they are without excuse, 21 because, although they once knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give Him thanks, but became silly in their senseless speculations, and so their insensible hearts have been shrouded in darkness. 22 Though claiming to be wise, they made fools of themselves,

Romans 1:22-22

22 Though claiming to be wise, they made fools of themselves,

Romans 1:28

28 And so, as they did not approve of fully recognizing God any longer, God gave them up to minds that He did not approve, to practices that were improper;

Romans 3:19

19 Now we know that everything the law says is spoken to those who are under its authority, that every mouth may be stopped and the whole world be held responsible to God.

Romans 3:21-24

21 But now God's way of giving men right standing with Himself has come to light; a way without connection with the law, and yet a way to which the law and the prophets testify. 22 God's own way of giving men right standing with Himself is through faith in Jesus Christ. It is for everybody who has faith, for no distinction at all is made.

Romans 3:22-24

22 God's own way of giving men right standing with Himself is through faith in Jesus Christ. It is for everybody who has faith, for no distinction at all is made. 23 For everybody has sinned and everybody continues to come short of God's glory, 24 but anybody may have right standing with God as a free gift of His undeserved favor, through the ransom provided in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:27

27 So where has human boasting gone? It was completely shut out. On what principle? On that of doing something? No, but on the principle of faith.

Romans 4:2

2 For if he was considered in right standing with God on the condition of what he did, he has something to boast of, but not before God.

Romans 4:6

6 So David, too, describes the happiness of the man to whom God credits right standing with Himself, without the things he does having anything to do with it:

Romans 4:17

17 as the Scripture says, "I have made you the father of many nations." That is, the promise is in force in the sight of God in whom he put his faith, the God who can bring the dead to life and can call to Himself the things that do not exist as though they did.

Romans 4:25

25 who was given up to death because of our shortcomings and was raised again to give us right standing with God.

Romans 5:19

19 For just as by that man's disobedience the whole race of men were constituted sinners, so by this One's obedience the whole race of men may be brought into right standing with God.

Romans 5:21

21 so that just as sin had reigned by death, so His favor too might reign in right standing with God which issues in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:17

17 But, thank God, that though you once were slaves of sin, you became obedient from your hearts to that form of teaching in which you have been instructed,

Romans 8:1

1 So then there is no condemnation at all for those who are in union with Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:9

9 But you are not living on the plane of the lower nature, but on the spiritual plane, if the Spirit of God has His home within you. Unless a man has the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Romans 8:19

19 For all nature is expectantly waiting for the unveiling of the sons of God.

Romans 8:23

23 Not only that but this too, we ourselves who enjoy the Spirit as a foretaste of the future, even we ourselves, keep up our inner groanings while we wait to enter upon our adoption as God's sons at the redemption of our bodies.

Romans 8:28

28 Yes, we know that all things go on working together for the good of those who keep on loving God, who are called in accordance with God's purpose.

Romans 8:28-30

28 Yes, we know that all things go on working together for the good of those who keep on loving God, who are called in accordance with God's purpose. 29 For those on whom He set His heart beforehand He marked off as His own to be made like His Son, that He might be the eldest of many brothers; 30 and those whom He marked off as His own He also calls; and those whom He calls He brings into right standing with Himself; those whom He brings into right standing with Himself He also glorifies.

Romans 8:30-30

30 and those whom He marked off as His own He also calls; and those whom He calls He brings into right standing with Himself; those whom He brings into right standing with Himself He also glorifies.

Romans 9:24

24 even us whom He has called, not only from among the Jews but from among the heathen too?

Romans 9:32-33

32 Why? Because they did not try through faith but through what they could do. They have stumbled over the stone that causes people to stumble, 33 as the Scripture says: "See, I put on Zion a stone for causing people to stumble, a rock to trip them on, but no one who puts his faith in it will ever be put to shame."

Romans 10:12

12 But there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is over them all, because He is infinitely kind to all who call upon Him.

Romans 11:12

12 But if their stumbling has resulted in the enrichment of the world, and their overthrow becomes the enrichment of heathen peoples, how much richer the result will be when the full quota of Jews comes in!

Romans 11:17

17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and yet you, although you were wild olive suckers, have been grafted in among the native branches, and been made to share the rich sap of the native olive's root,

Romans 11:33

33 How fathomless the depths of God's resources, wisdom, and knowledge! How unsearchable His decisions, and how mysterious His methods!

Romans 11:33-36

33 How fathomless the depths of God's resources, wisdom, and knowledge! How unsearchable His decisions, and how mysterious His methods! 34 For who has ever understood the thoughts of the Lord, or has ever been His adviser? 35 Or who has ever advanced God anything to have Him pay him back? 36 For from Him everything comes, through Him everything lives, and for Him everything exists. Glory to Him forever! Amen.

Romans 11:36

36 For from Him everything comes, through Him everything lives, and for Him everything exists. Glory to Him forever! Amen.

Romans 12:1

1 I beg you, therefore, brothers, through these mercies God has shown you, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies as a living sacrifice, devoted and well-pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:5

5 so we, though many, are united in one body through union with Christ, and we are individually parts of one another.

Romans 12:16

16 Keep on thinking in harmony with one another. Stop being high-minded but keep on associating with lowly people. Stop being conceited.

Romans 14:4

4 Who are you to criticize another man's servant? It is his own master's business whether he stands or falls, and he will stand, for the Lord has power to make him stand.

Romans 14:8-9

8 indeed, if we live, we always live in relation to the Lord, and if we die, we always die in relation to the Lord. So whether we live or die we belong to the Lord. 9 For Christ died and lived again for the very purpose of being Lord of both the dead and the living.

Romans 14:9

9 For Christ died and lived again for the very purpose of being Lord of both the dead and the living.

Romans 15:4

4 For everything that was written in the earlier times was written for our instruction, so that by our patient endurance and through the encouragement the Scriptures bring we might continuously cherish our hope. 5 May God, who gives men patient endurance and encouragement, grant you such harmony with one another, in accordance with the standard which Christ Jesus sets, 6 that with united hearts and lips you may praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:14

14 As far as I am concerned about you, my brothers, I am convinced that you especially are abounding in the highest goodness, richly supplied with perfect knowledge and competent to counsel one another.

Romans 15:17

17 So, as a Christian, I am proud of the things that I have done for God.

Romans 15:19

19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So I have completed the telling of the good news of Christ all the way from Jerusalem around to Illyricum.

Romans 15:30

30 Now I beg you, brothers, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love that the Spirit inspires, to wrestle with me in prayers to God on my behalf,

Romans 16:7

7 Remember me to Andronicus and Junias, my fellow-country-men, who also served in prison with me; they are held in high esteem among the apostles, and became Christians before I did.

Romans 16:11

11 Remember me to Herodion, my fellow-countryman. Remember me to the Christian members of Narcissus' family.

Romans 16:17

17 But I beg you, brothers, to keep on the lookout for those who stir up divisions and put hindrances in your way, in opposition to the instruction that you had, and always avoid them.

Romans 16:23

23 Gaius, my host, and host of the whole church here, wishes to be remembered to you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, wishes to be remembered to you, and so does our brother Quartus.

Romans 16:25

25 To Him who can make you strong in accordance with the good news I bring and in accordance with the message preached about Jesus Christ, in accordance with the uncovering of the secret which for ages past had not been told,

1 Corinthians 1:2

2 to the church of God at Corinth, to those who are consecrated by union with Christ Jesus, and called to be God's people, in fellowship with those who anywhere call upon the name of Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: 3 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I am always thanking God for you, for the spiritual blessing given you by God through union with Christ Jesus;

1 Corinthians 1:9

9 God is entirely trustworthy, and it is He through whom you have been called into this fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:15

15 so as to keep anyone from saying that you were baptized in my name.

1 Corinthians 1:18

1 Corinthians 1:23-25

23 we are preaching the Christ who was crucified -- a message that is a trap-stick to the Jews and nonsense to the Greeks, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks alike, the Christ who is God's power and God's wisdom.

1 Corinthians 1:24

24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks alike, the Christ who is God's power and God's wisdom. 25 It is so, because God's nonsense is wiser than men's wisdom, and God's weakness is mightier than men's might.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29

27 Just the opposite: God chose what the world calls foolish to put the wise to shame, what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame, 28 what the world calls of low degree, yea, what it counts as nothing and what it thinks does not exist, God chose to put a stop to what it thinks exists,

1 Corinthians 1:28-29

28 what the world calls of low degree, yea, what it counts as nothing and what it thinks does not exist, God chose to put a stop to what it thinks exists, 29 so that no mortal man might ever boast in the presence of God. 30 So you owe it all to Him through union with Christ Jesus, whom God has made our wisdom, our means of right standing, our consecration, and our redemption, 31 so that, as the Scripture says, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

1 Corinthians 2:1-2

1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come and tell you God's uncovered secret in rhetorical language or human philosophy,

1 Corinthians 2:1

1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come and tell you God's uncovered secret in rhetorical language or human philosophy, 2 for I determined, while among you, to be unconscious of everything but Jesus Christ and Him as crucified.

1 Corinthians 2:2

2 for I determined, while among you, to be unconscious of everything but Jesus Christ and Him as crucified. 3 Yes, as for myself, it was in weakness and fear and great trembling that I came to you, 4 and my language and the message I preached were not adorned with pleasing words of worldly wisdom, but they were attended with proof and power given by the Spirit,

1 Corinthians 2:4-6

4 and my language and the message I preached were not adorned with pleasing words of worldly wisdom, but they were attended with proof and power given by the Spirit, 5 so that your faith might not be in men's wisdom, but in God's power.

1 Corinthians 2:5-6

5 so that your faith might not be in men's wisdom, but in God's power. 6 Yet, when among mature believers we do set forth a wisdom, but a wisdom that does not belong to this world or to the leaders of this world who are passing away;

1 Corinthians 2:6-6

6 Yet, when among mature believers we do set forth a wisdom, but a wisdom that does not belong to this world or to the leaders of this world who are passing away;

1 Corinthians 2:8

8 Not one of this world's leaders understands it, for if they had, they would never have crucified our glorious Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:13

13 These truths we are setting forth, not in words that man's wisdom teaches but in words that the Spirit teaches, in this way fitting spiritual words to spiritual truths. 14 An unspiritual man does not accept the things that the Spirit of God teaches, for they are nonsense to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are appreciated by spiritual insight.

1 Corinthians 3:3

3 for you are still unspiritual. For when there are still jealousy and wrangling among you, are you not still unspiritual and living by a human standard? 4 For when one says, "I belong to Paul's party," and another, "I belong to Apollos' party," are you not acting as mere human creatures? 5 Then what is Apollos? Or what is Paul? Mere servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord gave each of us his task. 6 I did the planting, Apollos did the watering, but it was God who kept the plants growing.

1 Corinthians 3:9

9 for we belong to God as His fellow-workers; you belong to God as His field to be tilled, as His building to be built.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one of you supposes that he is wise in this world's wisdom, as compared with the rest of you, to become really wise he must become a fool. 19 For this world's wisdom is mere nonsense to God. For the Scripture says, "He who catches the wise with their own cunning,"

1 Corinthians 3:19-20

19 For this world's wisdom is mere nonsense to God. For the Scripture says, "He who catches the wise with their own cunning," 20 and again, "The Lord knows that the arguings of the wise are useless." 21 So let no one boast in men. For everything belongs to you -- 22 (46:21) Paul, Apollos, Cephas, the world, life, death, the present, the future -- they all belong to you. 23 Yes, you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

1 Corinthians 4:5

5 So you must stop forming any premature judgments, but wait until the Lord shall come again, for He will bring to light the secrets hidden in the dark and will make known the motives of men's hearts, and the proper praise will be awarded each of us. 6 Now, brothers, for your sakes I have applied all this to Apollos and myself, that from us as illustrations you might learn the lesson, "Never go beyond what is written," so that you might stop boasting in favor of one teacher against another. 7 For who makes you superior? And what do you have that you did not get from someone? But if you got it from someone, why do you boast as though you had not?

1 Corinthians 4:7

7 For who makes you superior? And what do you have that you did not get from someone? But if you got it from someone, why do you boast as though you had not? 8 Are you satisfied already? Have you grown rich already? Have you ascended your thrones without us to join you? Yes, I could wish that you had ascended your thrones, that we too might join you on them! 9 For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on exhibition at the disgraced end of the procession, as they do with men who are doomed to die in the arena. 10 For we have become a spectacle to the universe, to angels as well as men. For Christ's sake we are held as fools, while you through union with Christ are men of wisdom. We are weak; you are strong. You are held in honor; we in dishonor.

1 Corinthians 4:16

16 So I beg you, make it your habit to follow my example,

1 Corinthians 5:5

5 to turn such a man as this over to Satan for the destruction of his lower nature, in order that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. 6 Your ground for boasting about such a case is not good. Are you not aware that a little yeast will change the whole lump of dough?

1 Corinthians 6:1-7

1 When one of you has a grievance against his neighbor, does he dare to go to law before a heathen court, instead of laying the case before God's people? 2 Do you not know that God's people are to judge the world? And if the world is to be judged before you, are you unfit to try such petty cases? 3 Do you not know that we Christians are to sit in judgment on angels, to say nothing of the ordinary cases of life? 4 So if you have the ordinary cases of life for settlement, do you set up as judges the very men in the church who have no standing? 5 I ask this to make you blush with shame. Has it come to this, that there is not a single wise man among you who could settle a grievance of one brother against another, 6 but one brother has to go to law with another, and that before unbelieving judges? 7 To say no more, it is a mark of moral failure among you to have lawsuits at all with one another. Why not rather suffer being wronged? Why not suffer being robbed?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9 Do you not know that wrongdoers will not have a share in the kingdom of God? Stop being misled; people who are sexually immoral or idolaters or adulterers or sensual or guilty of unnatural sexual vice 10 or thieves or greedy graspers for more or drunkards or slanderers or swindlers will not have a share in the kingdom of God. 11 And these are just the characters some of you used to be. But now you have washed yourselves clean, you have been consecrated, you are now in right standing with God, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 6:11

11 And these are just the characters some of you used to be. But now you have washed yourselves clean, you have been consecrated, you are now in right standing with God, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 6:16-17

16 Or, are you not aware that a man who has to do with a prostitute makes his body one with hers? For God says, "The two shall be physically one." 17 But the man who is in union with the Lord is spiritually one with Him.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 Or, are you not conscious that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit that is in you, whom you have as a gift from God? Furthermore, you are not your own, 20 for you have been bought and actually paid for. So you must honor God with your bodies.

1 Corinthians 7:29

29 I mean this, brothers. The time has been cut short. For the future, men who have wives should live as though they had none,

1 Corinthians 8:6

6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, who is the source of all things and the goal of our living, and but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom everything was made and through whom we live.

1 Corinthians 8:11

11 Yes, the overscrupulous brother, for whom Christ died, is ruined by your so-called knowledge.

1 Corinthians 9:1-2

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the product of my work for the Lord? 2 If I am not an apostle to other people, I certainly am one to you, for you yourselves, by virtue of your union with the Lord, are the proof of my apostleship.

1 Corinthians 9:5

5 It cannot be that we have no right to take a Christian wife about with us, can it, as well as the rest of the apostles and the Lord's brothers, and Cephas?

1 Corinthians 10:2

2 they all allowed themselves to be baptized as followers of Moses,

1 Corinthians 10:13

13 No temptation has taken hold of you but what is common to human nature. And God is to be trusted not to let you be tempted beyond your strength, but when temptation comes, to make a way out of it, so that you can bear up under it.

1 Corinthians 10:16

16 Is not the consecrated cup which we consecrate a sign of our sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the loaf which we break a sign of our sharing in the body of Christ?

1 Corinthians 11:18

18 For, in the first place, when you meet as a congregation, I hear that there are cliques among you, and I partly believe it.

1 Corinthians 12:8

8 To one, wise speech is given by the Spirit; to another, by the same Spirit, intelligent speech is given;

1 Corinthians 12:10

10 to another, power for working wonders; to another, prophetic insight; to another, the power to discriminate between the true Spirit and false spirits; to another, various ecstatic utterances; and to another, the power to explain them.

1 Corinthians 12:18

18 But as it now is, God has placed the parts, every one of them, in the body just as He wanted them to be.

1 Corinthians 12:25

25 so that there is no disharmony in the body, but all the parts have a common care for one another.

1 Corinthians 12:27

27 So you are Christ's body, and individually parts of it.

1 Corinthians 13:2

2 If I should have the gift of prophecy, And know all secret truths, and knowledge in its every form, and have such perfect faith that I could move mountains, but have no love, I am nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:8

8 Love never fails; if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if now exist ecstatic speakings, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will soon be set aside;

1 Corinthians 14:5-6

5 I would like for all of you to speak in ecstasy, but I would rather that you prophesy. The man who speaks with real prophetic insight renders greater service than the man who speaks in ecstasy, unless the latter explains it, so the congregation may receive an uplift. 6 But as it now is, brothers, if I do come back to you speaking in ecstasy, what good shall I do you, unless my speech contains a revelation or new knowledge or a prophetic message or some teaching?

1 Corinthians 14:18

18 Thank God, I speak in ecstasy more than any of you.

1 Corinthians 14:26

26 Then what is our conclusion, brothers? When you meet together, everybody has a song, something to teach, a revelation, an ecstatic utterance, or an explanation of one. It must all be for the upbuilding of all.

1 Corinthians 15:2

2 and through which you are to be saved, unless your faith at first was spurious.

1 Corinthians 15:5

5 and that He was seen by Cephas, and then by the Twelve.

1 Corinthians 15:9

9 For I belong to the lowest rank of the apostles, and am not fit to bear the title apostle, because I once persecuted the church of God.

1 Corinthians 15:50

50 But this I tell you, brothers: Our physical bodies cannot take part in the kingdom of God; what is decaying will never take part in what is immortal.

1 Corinthians 15:54-57

54 And when this part once capable of dying puts on the body that can never die, then what the Scripture says will come true, "Death has been swallowed up in victory. 55 O Death, where is your victory now? O Death, where is your sting?" 56 Now sin gives death its sting, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 16:12

12 As for our brother Apollos, I have earnestly urged him to go to see you, but he is not at all inclined to come just now; yet he is coming when he has a good opportunity.

1 Corinthians 16:15

15 Now I beg you, brothers -- you know that the family of Stephanas were the first converts in Greece, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of God's people --

1 Corinthians 16:17

17 And I am glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have come to see me, because they have supplied what you lacked.

2 Corinthians 1:1

1 Paul, by the will of God an apostle of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is at Corinth, with all God's people all over Greece: 2 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 1:14

14 that is, to understand that you have grounds for boasting of me just as I have for boasting of you, on the day of our Lord Jesus.

2 Corinthians 1:18

18 As certainly as God is to be trusted, my message to you has not been a "Yes" that might mean "No."

2 Corinthians 1:21

21 But it is God who makes us as well as you secure through union with Christ, and has anointed us,

2 Corinthians 2:14

14 But thanks be to God, for He always leads me in His triumphal train, through union with Christ, and everywhere through me keeps spreading the perfume of the knowledge of Him. 15 Indeed, I am the fragrance of Christ to God, alike for those who are being saved and for those who are perishing; 16 to the one a deadly perfume that leads to death, to the other a living perfume that leads to life.

2 Corinthians 4:2

2 On the other hand, I have renounced all underhanded, disgraceful methods; I neither practice cunning nor do I tamper with God's message, but by clear and candid statements of truth I try to commend myself to every human conscience in God's sight. 3 If the meaning of the good news I preach is covered up at all, it is so only in the case of those who are on the way to destruction.

2 Corinthians 4:5

5 For I am not proclaiming myself but Christ Jesus as Lord, and myself a slave of yours for Jesus' sake. 6 For God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in my heart, to give me the light of the knowledge of God's glory, reflected on the face of Christ. 7 But I am keeping this jewel in an earthen jar, to prove that its surpassing power is God's, not mine.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

14 For the love of Christ continuously constrains me, because I am convinced that as One died for all, all have died, 15 and He died for all, that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

17 For if anybody is in union with Christ, he is the work of a new creation; the old condition has passed away, a new condition has come. 18 This has all originated with God, for He through Christ has reconciled me to Himself and has given me the ministry of reconciliation. 19 For it was through Christ that God was reconciling the world to Himself instead of debiting men's offenses against them, and He has committed to me the message of this reconciliation. 20 So I am an envoy to represent Christ, because it is through me that God is making His appeal. As one representing Christ I beg you, be reconciled to God.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

20 So I am an envoy to represent Christ, because it is through me that God is making His appeal. As one representing Christ I beg you, be reconciled to God. 21 He made Him who personally knew nothing of sin to be a sin-offering for us, so that through union with Him we might come into right standing with God.

2 Corinthians 6:1

1 As God's fellow-worker I beg you too not to accept God's favor and throw it away.

2 Corinthians 8:7

7 Yes, just as you are growing rich in everything else, in faith, expression, knowledge, perfect enthusiasm, and the love inspired in you by us, you must see to it that you grow rich in this gracious contribution too.

2 Corinthians 9:6

6 Now this is the way it is: Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly too, but whoever sows bountifully will reap bountifully too.

2 Corinthians 9:11

11 In every way you will grow richer and richer so as to give with perfect liberality, which will through me result in thanksgiving to God for it.

2 Corinthians 10:1

1 Now I appeal to you in person, by the gentleness and fairness of Christ, I, Paul, who am so "condescending when face to face with you, but so courageous toward you when far away!"

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

3 For though I do still live the life of a physical human creature, I am not waging this war in accordance with physical human standards, 4 for the weapons used in my warfare are not mere human ones, but through my God are mighty for demolishing fortresses.

2 Corinthians 10:4

4 for the weapons used in my warfare are not mere human ones, but through my God are mighty for demolishing fortresses.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

4 for the weapons used in my warfare are not mere human ones, but through my God are mighty for demolishing fortresses. 5 For I am demolishing arguments and every barrier that is raised against the genuine knowledge of God, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ,

2 Corinthians 10:10

10 For they say, "His letters are impressive and forceful, but his physical personality is unimpressive, and his delivery is perfectly contemptible."

2 Corinthians 10:17

17 "But the man who boasts must boast in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 11:2

2 For I feel a divine jealousy for you, as I betrothed you to Christ, to present you as a pure bride to her one husband.

2 Corinthians 11:4

4 For if anybody comes along and preaches another Jesus than the one I preached, or you receive another spirit different from the one you did receive or a glad message different from the one you did accept, you listen to it all right! 5 For I consider myself not a single bit inferior to those surpassingly superior apostles of yours! 6 Although I am untrained as an orator, yet I am not so in the field of knowledge. Surely, I have always made that perfectly clear to you.

2 Corinthians 12:2

2 I know a man in union with Christ fourteen years ago -- whether in the body or out of it, I do not know, but God knows -- who was caught up to the third heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:11

11 I have made a fool of myself, but you have forced me to do it, for I am the man who ought to have been constantly approved by you. For I am not a single bit inferior to your surpassingly superior apostles, though really I am "nobody." 12 The marks that signify the genuine apostle were exhibited among you in my perfect patience, in signs, wonders, and wonder-works. 13 In what respect, then, were you inferior to the rest of the churches, except for the fact that I, and I only, never received from you any financial support? Please forgive me this wrong.

2 Corinthians 12:20

20 I repeat it, I am apprehensive that, somehow or other, there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, rivalries, slanders, gossiping, haughty pride, and disorders,

2 Corinthians 13:4

4 For though He was crucified in weakness, yet by the power of God He goes on living. We too, indeed, show weakness through our union with Him, yet by the power of God we too shall be alive toward you through fellowship with Him.

2 Corinthians 13:11

11 Finally, brothers, goodbye! Practice the perfecting of your characters, keep listening to my appeals, continue thinking in harmony and living in peace, and the loving, peace-giving God will be with you.

Galatians 1:1

1 Paul, an apostle sent not from men or by any man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised Him from the dead -- 2 and all the brothers who are here with me -- to the churches of Galatia:

Galatians 1:4

4 who gave Himself for our sins, to save us from the present wicked world in accordance with the will of our God and Father;

Galatians 1:7

7 which is not really another one; only there are certain people who are trying to unsettle you and want to turn the good news of Christ upside down.

Galatians 1:15-16

15 But when God, who had already set me apart from my birth, and had called me by His unmerited favor,

Galatians 1:15

15 But when God, who had already set me apart from my birth, and had called me by His unmerited favor, 16 chose to unveil His Son in me, so that I might preach the good news about Him among the heathen, at once, before I conferred with any human creatures,

Galatians 2:7-8

7 On the contrary, because they saw that I had been entrusted with the good news for the heathen, just as Peter had been entrusted with it for the Jews -- 8 for He who had been at work in Peter for his apostleship to the Jews had been at work in me too for the apostleship to the heathen -- 9 and because they recognized the favor God had shown me, James, Cephas, and John, the so-called pillar apostles, gave Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, with the understanding that we should go to the heathen and they to the Jews.

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I myself no longer live, but Christ is living in me; the life I now live as a mortal man I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Galatians 3:1

1 O senseless Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose very eyes Jesus Christ was pictured as the crucified One?

Galatians 3:5

5 Now when He supplies you with the Spirit and performs His wonder-works among you, does He do it because you do what the law commands, or because you believe the message that you heard --

Galatians 3:13

13 Christ ransomed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us -- for the Scripture says, "Cursed be everyone who is hanged on a tree" --

Galatians 3:17

17 I mean this: The law which was given four hundred and thirty years later could not annul the contract which had already been ratified by God, so as to cancel the promise.

Galatians 4:12

12 I beg you, brothers, take my point of view, just as I took yours. You did me no injustice then.

Galatians 5:11

11 As for me, myself, brothers, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In such a case the hindrance done by the cross has presumably ceased!

Galatians 5:15

15 But if you continue to bite and eat one another, beware lest you are destroyed by one another.

Galatians 5:20

20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, quarreling, jealousy, anger, intrigues, dissensions, party-spirit,

Galatians 5:22-24

22 But the product of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. There is no law against such things. 24 And those who belong to Jesus the Christ have crucified the lower nature with its passions and evil cravings.

Galatians 5:26

26 Let us stop being ambitious for honors, so challenging one another, envying one another.

Galatians 6:12-14

12 These men who are trying to force you to let yourselves be circumcised simply want to make a fine outward show, only to keep you from being persecuted for the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. 13 Indeed, the very men who let themselves be circumcised do not themselves observe the law. But they simply want you to let yourselves be circumcised, so that they can boast of you as members of their party. 14 But may it never be mine to boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world!

Galatians 6:14

14 But may it never be mine to boast of anything but the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world!

Ephesians 1:1

1 Paul, by God's will an apostle of Christ Jesus, to God's people who are faithful in Christ Jesus; 2 spiritual blessing and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who through Christ has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. 4 Through Him He picked us out before the creation of the world, to be consecrated and above reproach in His sight in love.

Ephesians 1:7

7 It is through union with Him that we have redemption by His blood and the forgiveness of our shortcomings, in accordance with the generosity of His unmerited favor

Ephesians 1:10

10 so that, at the coming of the climax of the ages, everything in heaven and on earth should be unified through Christ,

Ephesians 1:14

14 who is the first installment of our inheritance, so that we may finally come into full possession of the prize of redemption, and praise His glory for it.

Ephesians 1:17

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may grant you the Spirit to give wisdom and revelation which come through a growing knowledge of Him,

Ephesians 1:17-18

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may grant you the Spirit to give wisdom and revelation which come through a growing knowledge of Him, 18 by having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, so that you may know what the hope is to which He calls you, how glorious rich God's portion in His people is,

Ephesians 2:7

7 to show, throughout the coming ages, the boundless generosity of His unmerited favor shown us in His goodness to us through Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:9

9 It is not the result of what anyone can do, so that no one can boast of it. 10 For He has made us what we are, because He has created us through our union with Christ Jesus for doing good deeds which He beforehand planned for us to do.

Ephesians 2:20-22

20 for you are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself the cornerstone. 21 In union with Him the whole building is harmoniously fitted together and continues to grow into a temple, sacred through its union with the Lord, 22 and you yourselves, in union with Him, in fellowship with one another, are being built up into a dwelling for God through the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:6

6 that the heathen through union with Christ Jesus are fellow-heirs with the Jews, are members with them of the same body, and sharers with them of the promise through the good news,

Ephesians 3:8

8 yes, on me, the very least of all His people, this unmerited favor was bestowed -- that I might preach as good news to the heathen the boundless riches of Christ, 9 and to make clear how is to be carried out the trusteeship of this secret which has for ages been hidden away in God, the Creator of all things, 10 so that the many phases of God's wisdom may now through the church be made known to the rulers and authorities in heaven,

Ephesians 3:10-10

10 so that the many phases of God's wisdom may now through the church be made known to the rulers and authorities in heaven,

Ephesians 4:1-7

1 So I, a prisoner for the Lord's sake, entreat you to live lives worthy of the call you have received, 2 with perfect humility and gentleness, with patience, lovingly bearing with one another, 3 continuing with eager earnestness to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the tie of peace. 4 There is but one body and one Spirit, just as there is but one hope resulting from the call you have received; 5 there is but one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Ephesians 4:5

5 there is but one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over us all, who pervades us all, and who is within us all. 7 But in accordance with the measure of Christ's gift, His favor has been bestowed upon each one of us.

Ephesians 4:11

11 And He has given some men to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers,

Ephesians 4:30

30 You must stop offending the Holy Spirit of God by whom you have been stamped for the day of redemption. 31 You must remove all bitterness, rage, anger, loud threats, and insults, with all malice. 32 You must practice being kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has graciously forgiven you.

Ephesians 5:20

20 continue giving thanks for everything to God our Father;

Ephesians 5:26

26 to consecrate her, after cleansing her through His word, as pictured in the water bath, 27 that He might present the church to Himself as a splendid bride without a blot or wrinkle or anything like it, but to be consecrated and faultless.

Ephesians 6:19

19 and for me that a message may be given me when I open my lips, so that I may boldly make known the open secret of the good news,

Philippians 1:6

6 For I am certain of this very thing, that He who began the good work in you will go on until the day of Jesus Christ to complete it.

Philippians 1:9

9 And it is my prayer that your love may overflow still more and more, directed by fuller knowledge and keener insight, 10 so that you may always approve the better things, and be men of transparent character and blameless life,

Philippians 1:27

27 Only you must practice living lives that are worthy of the good news, so that whether I come and see you or stay away, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, and that with one purpose you are continuing to cooperate in the fight for faith in the good news.

Philippians 2:1-4

1 So, if there is any appeal in our union with Christ, if there is any persuasive power in love, if we have any common share in the Spirit, if you have any tenderheartedness and sympathy, 2 fill up my cup of joy by living in harmony, by fostering the same disposition of love, your hearts beating in unison, your minds set on one purpose. 3 Stop acting from motives of selfish strife or petty ambition, but in humility practice treating one another as your superiors. 4 Stop looking after your own interests only but practice looking out for the interests of others too.

Philippians 2:9-11

9 This is why God has highly exalted Him, and given Him the name that is above every other name, 10 so that in the name of Jesus everyone should kneel, in heaven, on earth, and in the underworld, 11 and everyone should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the praise of God the Father.

Philippians 2:14

14 Practice doing everything without grumbling and disputing, 15 so that you may prove to be blameless and spotless, faultless children of God in a crooked and perverted age, in which you shine as light-bearers in the world as you continue 16 to hold up the message of life. That will give me ground for boasting on the day of Christ, because neither my career nor my labor has been a failure.

Philippians 3:3

3 For we are the true circumcision, who by the Spirit of God worship Him, who take pride in Christ Jesus only, and do not rely on outward privileges,

Philippians 3:9

9 and be actually in union with Him, not having a supposed right standing with God which depends on my doing what the law commands, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the real right standing with God which originates from Him and rests on faith.

Philippians 3:16

16 However, we must continue to live up to that degree of success that we have already reached.

Philippians 3:20

20 But we are citizens of the republic in heaven, from which we are eagerly waiting for our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:22

22 All God's people wish to be remembered to you, but more especially the members of the Emperor's household.

Colossians 1:1

1 Paul, by God's will an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Timothy,

Colossians 1:9-10

9 This is why, ever since I heard of it, I have never ceased praying for you and asking God to fill you, through full wisdom and spiritual insight, with a clear knowledge of His will, 10 so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord to His full satisfaction, by perennially bearing fruit in every good enterprise and by a steady growth in fuller knowledge of God;

Colossians 1:14

14 by whom we possess the ransom from captivity, which means the forgiveness of our sins.

Colossians 1:22

22 by His death in His human body, so as to present you consecrated, faultless, and blameless in His presence,

Colossians 1:24

24 I am now glad to be suffering for you, and in my own person I am filling in what is lacking in Christ's sufferings for His body, that is, the church.

Colossians 2:2-3

2 that their hearts may be encouraged, by having been knit together in love and by having atoned to the full assurance of understanding, so that they may finally reach the fullest knowledge of the open secret, Christ Himself, 3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are stored up.

Colossians 2:3-3

3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are stored up.

Colossians 3:4

4 When Christ, who is our life, appears, you too will appear to be glorified in fellowship with Him.

Colossians 3:10

10 and have put on the new self which is in the process of being made new in the likeness of its Creator, so that you may attain a perfect knowledge of Him.

Colossians 3:15

15 Let the peace that Christ can give keep on acting as umpire in your hearts, for you were called to this state as members of one body. And practice being thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ continue to live in you in all its wealth of wisdom; keep on teaching it to one another and training one another in it with thankfulness, in your hearts singing praise to God with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. 17 And whatever you say or do, let it all be done with reference to the Lord Jesus, and through Him continue to give thanks to God the Father.

Colossians 4:3-4

3 At the same time keep on praying for me too, that God may open the door of opportunity for the message, so that I may tell the open secret about Christ, for the sake of which I am held a prisoner, 4 in order to make it evident why I have to tell it.

1 Thessalonians 1:1

1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonian church in union with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: spiritual blessing and peace be to you.

1 Thessalonians 1:5

5 for our preaching of the good news came to you not entirely in words but with power and with the Holy Spirit and with absolute certainty (for you know the kind of men we were among you for your own sakes).

1 Thessalonians 1:10

10 and to wait for the coming from heaven of His Son, whom He raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 2:12

12 to live lives worthy of God who calls you into His kingdom and His glory.

1 Thessalonians 3:13

13 so that He may strengthen your hearts to be faultless in purity in the sight of God, when our Lord Jesus comes back with all His consecrated ones.

1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

1 Now, brothers, we ask and beg you, in the face of our union with the Lord Jesus, as you once received from us how you ought to live so as to please God -- as indeed you are living -- to continue to live this life better and better. 2 For you are aware of the instructions which we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 4:7

7 For God did not call us to a life of immorality, but to one of personal purity.

1 Thessalonians 5:13

13 continue to hold them in the highest esteem for the sake of the work they do. Practice living at peace with one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 Make it a habit to give thanks for everything, for this is God's will for you through Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

23 May God Himself, who gave you peace, consecrate your whole being. May you be safely kept, spirit, soul, and body, so as to be blameless when our Lord Jesus Christ comes back. 24 He who calls you is trustworthy and He will do this.

2 Thessalonians 1:1

1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the Thessalonian church in union with God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Thessalonians 1:7

7 and to give rest to you who are being crushed with sorrows, along with us, at the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ from heaven, with His mighty angels

2 Thessalonians 1:10

10 when on that day He comes to be glorified in His consecrated ones and to be admired by all who believe in Him because our testimony has been confidently accepted among you.

2 Thessalonians 2:1

1 As to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our final muster before Him, we beg you, brothers,

2 Thessalonians 2:10

10 and with a completely wicked deception for men who are on the way to destruction, because they refused to love the truth so as to be saved.

2 Thessalonians 2:14

14 and to this end He called you by our preaching of the good news, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and graciously given us encouragement that is eternal, and a hope that is well-founded, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good thing you do or say.

2 Thessalonians 3:3

3 But the Lord is to be trusted, and He will give you strength and guard you from the evil one.

1 Timothy 1:1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Saviour and of Christ Jesus our hope,

1 Timothy 1:12

12 I am always thanking Christ Jesus our Lord who has given me strength for it, for thinking me trustworthy and putting me into the ministry,

1 Timothy 1:14

14 and the spiritual blessing of our Lord in increasing floods has come upon me, accompanied by faith and love inspired by union with Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 2:6

6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, a fact that was testified to at the proper time, 7 and for which purpose I was appointed a preacher and an apostle -- I am telling the truth, I am not lying, -- a teacher of the heathen in the realm of faith and truth.

1 Timothy 3:15

15 so that, if I am detained, you may know how people ought to conduct themselves in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

1 Timothy 5:21

21 I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus and the chosen angels, to carry out these instructions without prejudice and with perfect impartiality.

1 Timothy 6:4

4 he is a conceited ignoramus with a morbid appetite for discussions and controversies which lead to envy, quarreling, abuse, base suspicions,

1 Timothy 6:14-15

14 to keep His command stainless and irreproachable until the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which will be brought about in His own time by the blessed, only Sovereign, the King of kings, the Lord of lords,

2 Timothy 1:1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in accordance with the promise of the life that comes through union with Christ Jesus,

2 Timothy 1:8

8 So you must never be ashamed of me His prisoner, but suffer for the good news in fellowship with me and by the power of God. 9 For He saved us and called us with a holy call, not in accordance with anything that we had done, but in accordance with His own purpose and unmerited favor which was shown us through union with Christ Jesus eternal ages ago,

2 Timothy 2:22

22 You must keep on fleeing from the evil impulses of youth, but ever strive for uprightness, faith, love, and peace, in association with those who call upon the Lord with pure hearts. 23 Always avoid foolish discussions with ignorant men, for you know that they breed quarrels, 24 and a slave of the Lord must not quarrel but must be gentle to everybody; he must be a skillful teacher, and not resentful under injuries. 25 With gentleness he must correct his opponents, for God might grant them repentance that would lead them to a full knowledge of the truth,

2 Timothy 3:15-17

15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures which can give you wisdom that leads to salvation through the faith that leans on Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God, and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in doing what is right, 17 so that the man of God may be perfectly fit, thoroughly equipped for every good enterprise.

2 Timothy 4:1

1 I solemnly charge you, before God and Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom,

2 Timothy 4:8

8 Now the crown for doing right awaits me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day, and not only me but also all who have loved His appearing.

Titus 1:2

2 in the hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago

Titus 2:13

13 while we are waiting for the realization of our blessed hope at the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to ransom us from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people to be His very own, zealous of good works.

Philemon 1:4

4 I always thank my God every time I mention you in my prayers,

Philemon 1:9-10

9 yet I prefer to appeal to you for love's sake, although I am such as I am, Paul an envoy of Christ Jesus but now a prisoner for Him too; 10 yes, I appeal to you for my child Onesimus, whose father I have become while wearing these chains.

Hebrews 2:3-4

3 how can we escape, if we pay no attention at all to a salvation that is so great? This is so because it was first proclaimed by the Lord Himself, and then it was proved to us to be valid by the very men who heard Him themselves, 4 while God continued to confirm their testimony with signs, marvels, and various sorts of wonder-works, and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed in accordance with His will.

Hebrews 2:11

11 For both He who is purifying them and those who are being purified all spring from one Father; so He is not ashamed to call them brothers,

Hebrews 2:17

17 Therefore He had to be made like His brothers, so that He could be a sympathetic High Priest, as well as a faithful one, in things relating to God, in order to atone for the people's sins.

Hebrews 3:1

1 Therefore, my Christian brothers, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the Messenger and High Priest whom we profess to follow,

Hebrews 3:14

14 For we have become real sharers in Christ, if we keep firm to the end the faith we had at first,

Hebrews 4:12

12 For God's message is alive and full of power in action, sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the depths of soul and spirit, to the dividing of joints and marrow, and passing judgment on the thoughts and purposes of the heart.

Hebrews 6:18

18 so that by these two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to prove false, we who have taken refuge with Him may have encouragement strong enough to make us seize upon the hope that lies ahead of us.

Hebrews 9:12

12 and not with blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He once for all went into the real sanctuary and secured our eternal redemption.

Hebrews 9:28

28 so Christ was offered once for all to take away the sins of many, but again He will appear, without having anything to do with sin, to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him to bring them final salvation.

Hebrews 10:10

10 It is by this will of God that we are consecrated through the offering of Jesus' body once for all.

Hebrews 10:23

23 let us, without ever wavering, keep on holding to the hope that we profess, for He is to be trusted who has made the promise,

Hebrews 10:36-37

36 Indeed, to carry out the will of God and to receive the blessing He has promised, you need endurance, for: 37 "In just a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay;

Hebrews 11:11

11 By faith Sarah received strength to become pregnant, and actually gave birth to a child, although she was past the time of life for it, because she thought that He who made her the promise was to be trusted.

Hebrews 13:12

12 So Jesus, too, in order to purify the people by His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

James 1:5

5 But if any one of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask God who generously gives to everyone and never reproaches one with its lack, and it will be given to him.

James 1:9-11

9 Let the poor brother of lowly station rejoice in his exalted station as a Christian, 10 and the rich brother rejoice in his being on a level with the poor, because the rich will fade away like the flower of the grass. 11 For the sun comes up with its scorching heat and dries up the grass, and its flowers wither, and its beauty fades away; so will rich men fade away in their pursuits.

James 2:5

5 Listen, my dearly loved brothers. Has not God chosen the poor of the world to be rich in faith and to possess the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

James 3:13

13 Who among you is wise and intelligent? Let him show by his noble living that his good deeds are done in humility, which wisdom prompts.

James 3:13-18

13 Who among you is wise and intelligent? Let him show by his noble living that his good deeds are done in humility, which wisdom prompts.

James 3:13-17

13 Who among you is wise and intelligent? Let him show by his noble living that his good deeds are done in humility, which wisdom prompts. 14 But if you cherish bitter jealousy and rivalry in your hearts, stop being proud of it and stop being false to the standard of truth.

James 3:14-17

14 But if you cherish bitter jealousy and rivalry in your hearts, stop being proud of it and stop being false to the standard of truth. 15 This is not the kind of wisdom that comes down from above; no, it is earthly, human, demoniacal.

James 3:15-17

15 This is not the kind of wisdom that comes down from above; no, it is earthly, human, demoniacal. 16 For wherever jealousy and rivalry exist, there will be confusion and all sorts of evil practices.

James 3:16-17

16 For wherever jealousy and rivalry exist, there will be confusion and all sorts of evil practices. 17 The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of compassion and good deeds, free from doubts and insincerity.

James 3:17-17

17 The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of compassion and good deeds, free from doubts and insincerity. 18 The harvest of uprightness is grown from the seed of peace by those who are peacemakers.

James 4:1-2

1 What causes wars and quarrels among you? Is it not your different desires which are ever at war within your bodies? You desire things and cannot have them, and so you commit murder. 2 You covet things, but cannot acquire them, and so you quarrel and fight. You do not have them, because you do not ask for them.
