¹ Know ye not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the law how that the law hath dominion over man, as long as he liveth? ² For the woman who hath an husband, is bound by the law to the husband so long as he liveth: but if the husband be dead, the is loosed from the law of the husband. ³ So then, if while [the] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulterers: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. ⁴ Wherefore, my brethren, ye are also become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. ⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. ⁶ But now we are delivered from the law of death, wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of the Spirit, and not oldness of the letter. ⁷ What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. ⁸ But sin taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [is] dead. ⁹ For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. ¹⁰ And the commandment which [was] to life, I found [to be] unto death. ¹¹ For sin taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. ¹² Wherefore the law [is] holy; and the commandment holy, and just, and good. ¹³ Was then that which is good, made death unto me? By no means. But sin that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. ¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. ¹⁵ For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate I do. ¹⁶ If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law, that [it is] good. ¹⁷ Now then, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. ¹⁸ For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to perform that which is good, I find not. ¹⁹ For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. ²⁰ Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. ²¹ I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. ²³ But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity in the law of sin, which is in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death? ²⁵ The grace of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I my self serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

¹³ Now I suppose that you are not ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, but was hindered hitherto, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

¹⁷ But if thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God; ¹⁸ And knowest [his] will, and approvest the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law,

³ Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ, were baptized unto his death?

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

⁶ But now we are delivered from the law of death, wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of the Spirit, and not oldness of the letter.

³ For I could wish that myself were an anathema from Christ, for my brethren and kinsmen who are according to the flesh:

¹ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel [is], that they might be saved.

⁸ Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?

²¹ Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

⁴ The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

³⁹ The wife is bound as long as her husband liveth: but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.

³² But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery.

⁶ But from the beginning, God made male and female. ⁷ And he said, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife: ⁸ And they two shall be one flesh: so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹ What God hath joined, let not man put asunder. ¹⁰ And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same word. ¹¹ And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her, ¹² And it a woman shall depart from her husband, and marry another, she commitith adultery.

³ And the scribes and Pharisees brought a woman taken in sin, and when they had set her in the midst. ⁴ The priests say unto him, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him, Master this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. ⁵ But Moses in the law commanded, to stone such women, But what sayst thou now?

¹¹ But the younger widows rebuke: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry; ¹² Having judgment, because they have cast off the first promise. ¹³ And withal they learn [to be] idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also, and busy-bodies, speaking things which they ought not. ¹⁴ I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

²⁶ And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake, and gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this my body.

²⁹ He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoyceth greatly because of the bridegrooms voice, this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

⁵¹ I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if therefore any one shall eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: The bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world.

⁸ Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit, so be ye my disciples.

² God forbid: how shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

²² But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

² For the law of the Spirit of life, in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death,

¹⁶ The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of the Lord?

² For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you a chaste virgin to Christ.

¹⁹ For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. ²⁰ I am crucified with Christ: Nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

¹³ Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: It is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

¹⁸ But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance, chastity: against such there is no law.

¹⁵ Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, the law of commandments, in ordinances, for to make in himself, of twain, one new man, making peace;

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: He [is] the Saviour of the body. ²⁴ Therefore as the church is subject unto the Lord, so [let] the wives [be] to the husbands in every thing. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it: ²⁶ That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water, by the word, ²⁷ That he might himself present it a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of Christ. [God.]

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

⁶ Which is come unto you, as [it is] in all the world, and bringeth forth fruit, and increaseth, as also in you, since the day ye heard [it], and have acknowledged the grace of God in truth.

¹⁰ That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the Knowledge of God;

²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight:

¹⁴ Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances, that was against us, that was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross:

²⁰ If ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world; why, as again living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

¹⁰ By the which will we have been sanctified, through the offering of the blood of Jesus Christ once.

²⁴ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to our sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose wound ye were healed.

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoyce, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made her self ready.

⁹ And there came one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemy.

⁶ That which is born of the flesh, is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit; is Spirit.

²⁶ For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: For even their women changed the natural use into that which is against nature and use:

²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

¹⁵ Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, [there is] no transgression.

²⁰ Moreover, the law entered, that the offence might abound: But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

¹³ Neither yield ye your members instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield your selves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead; and your members instruments of righteousness unto God.

¹⁹ I speak after the manner of men, because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity, unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness, unto holiness.

²¹ What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are now ashamed? for truly the end of those things [is] death.

²³ For the wages of sin [is] death: but the gift of God [is] eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁷ What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. ⁸ But sin taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. ⁸ So then they that are in the flesh, cannot please God. ⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now is any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

⁵⁶ The sting of death [is] sin and the strength of sin [is] the law.

⁶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. ⁷ But if the ministration of death written [and] ingraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance, which was to be done away; ⁸ How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? ⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation be gory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. ¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in te book of the law to do them.

¹⁶ I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: For these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, laciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hared, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

²⁴ And they that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts.

³ Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh, and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

¹¹ Wherefore remember that ye [were] in time passed Gentiles in the flesh; who are called uncircumcision by that which is called the circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, and uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

³ For we our selves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

¹⁵ Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

⁹ But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ For whosoever shall fulfil the whole law, and yet offend in one [law,] he is guilty of all.

¹ From whence [are] wars and whence fightings among you? [are they] not hence, of your lusts, that war in your members?

⁴ Whosoever committeth sin, transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing, I make mention of you always in my prayers,

²⁷ And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? ²⁸ For he is not a Jew, who is one outwardly; neither circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: ²⁹ But he [is] a Jew, who is one inwardly; and circumcision [is] of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter, whose praise is not of men but of God.

⁴ Therefore we are buried with him by Baptism unto death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

¹¹ Likewise reckon ye also your selves dead indeed unto sin; but alive onto God through Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. ¹⁵ What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

¹ Know ye not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the law how that the law hath dominion over man, as long as he liveth?

² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

⁶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

¹⁷ Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are past away, behold they are become new.

²³ But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith, which should afterwards be revealed. ²⁴ Wherefore the law was our school-master, unto Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith. ²⁵ But after that faith as come, we are no longer under a school-master.

⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, ⁵ To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons,

¹⁵ For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

³ For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh:

¹⁰ And have put on the new one, which is renewed in knowledge, after the image of him that created him;

²⁸ But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart,

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of all sort of covetousness; for life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which a man possesseth.

³³ I have coveted the silver, and gold, or apparel of none of you.

⁵ But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? [Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? I speak as a man,

¹ What shall we say then that Abraham our father found according to the flesh?

¹⁵ What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named amongst you, as becometh saints.

⁵ Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not the Lord.

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of God is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world,

²² If I had not come, and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no one else had done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen me, and hated me and my Father.

¹⁷ Now then, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵ Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

²¹ Ye have heard, that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill: and whosoever shall kill, shall be lyable to the judgment. ²² But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be lyable to the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be lyable to the sanhedrim: but whosoever shalt say, Thou fool, shall be lyable to gehenna of fire. ²³ Therefore, if thou shalt bring thy gift to the altar, and there shalt remember that thy brother hath ought against thee; ²⁴ Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then thou shalt come and offer thy gift. ²⁵ Agree with thine adversary quickly, whilst thou art in the way with him: lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. ²⁶ Verily, I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou shalt have paid the uttermost farthing.

⁴ For God said, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ⁵ But ye say, Whosoever shall say to father or mother, [It is] a gift by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, ⁶ He shall not relieve his father or mother. Thus have ye made the word of God of none effect by your tradition.

²⁰ The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

⁸ As the washing of pots and cups: and many other things ye do that are like [them]; leaving the command of God; ye hold the tradition of men. ⁹ And he said unto them, Well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may confirm your own tradition! ¹⁰ For Moses said Honour thy father and mother: and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death. ¹¹ But ye say, If a man shall say to his father, or mother, [It is] Corban, that is, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightst be profited by me; ¹² Ye suffer him not to do ought for his father or mother: ¹³ Making the word of God of none effect through your foolish tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

²⁵ But a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, What shall I do to inherit eternal life? ²⁶ He said unto him, What is written in [the] law? how readest thou? ²⁷ And he answering, said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole strength;and thy neighbour as thy self. ²⁸ And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. ²⁹ But he willing to justifie him self, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

²⁹ And he answering, said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment, and yet thou at no time gavest me a kid, out of the goats, that I might dine with my friends:

⁹ And he spake unto certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised other men: ¹⁰ Two men went up to the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and one a publican. ¹¹ The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses.

²¹ But he said, All these have I kept from [my] youth.

¹⁹ Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. ²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

²¹ I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. ²² For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. ²³ But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity in the law of sin, which is in my members.

⁷ Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

⁵ For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man who doth [it], shall live by [it].

¹⁹ For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

⁵ Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; ⁶ Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless,

¹⁰ For whosoever shall fulfil the whole law, and yet offend in one [law,] he is guilty of all. ¹¹ For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

⁷ But if the ministration of death written [and] ingraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance, which was to be done away;

¹² And the law is not of faith: but, He that doth them, shall live in them.

²² That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, who is corrupt according to the deceitful lust:

¹³ But exhort one another daily, while it is called, Today; lest any of you be hardned through the deceitfulness of sin.

²² But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

²⁶ If any man seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion [is] vain.

³¹ Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

¹⁶ If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law, that [it is] good.

³ What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemned sin in the flesh:

²¹ [Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law,

¹³ Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.

²² But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause, shall be lyable to the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be lyable to the sanhedrim: but whosoever shalt say, Thou fool, shall be lyable to gehenna of fire.

²³ But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan, thou art an Offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things of God, but of men.

²⁵ But forasmuch as he had not to pay, the lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

³⁷ Jesus saith unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸ This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹ And the second [is] like unto this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self. ⁴⁰ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

⁸ But when Simon saw [it], he fell down to his feet saying, I beseech thee Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

⁶ But Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thy self, for I am not worthy that thou shouldst enter under my roof.

¹¹ The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed thus, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I posses. ¹³ And the publican standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. ¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down justified [rather] than that Pharisee: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

¹⁸ For I know, that in me, that is, in my flesh dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to perform that which is good, I find not.

²² For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. ²³ But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity in the law of sin, which is in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

¹ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, as unto babes in Christ. ² I have fed you with milk, and not with meat; for hitherto ye were not able; neither yet now are ye able. ³ For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

⁸ Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.

¹² For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart:

⁴⁸ Bear ye therefore witness that ye do not allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, but ye build [their sepulchres.]

¹⁹ For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. ²⁰ Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

⁹ [Let] love [be] without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good.

²² Hast thou faith? have it to thy self before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: For these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

¹² Not as though I had already attained, or am already justified, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ. ¹³ Brethren, I count not my self to have yet apprended: but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.

⁹ Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God thy God hath annointed thee with the oyl of gladness above thy fellows.

² For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ⁸ If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves, and the truth is not in us.

²³ And others save, pulling [them] out of the fire; but of some have compassion with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

¹² Wherefore the law [is] holy; and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

²² For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man.

⁷ Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. ⁸ Blessed [is] the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

²⁰ Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

¹² For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, not according to that he hath not.

⁸ Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss, for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung that I may win Christ, ⁹ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

⁵ Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? ⁶ But he giveth more grace: wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil reasonings, fornications, thefts, adulteries, murder, ²² Covetousness, deceit, wickedness, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemies, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these wicked things come from within, and defile the man.

¹³ If ye therefore being evil, know to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall the Father from the heaven give a good gift to them that ask him?

¹⁵ For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate I do.

¹⁹ For the good that I would, I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

²⁵ The grace of God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I my self serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

³ What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son, in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemned sin in the flesh: ⁴ That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, ⁵ For they that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. ⁶ For to be carnally minded, [is] death; but to be spiritually minded, [is] life and peace: ⁷ Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. ⁸ So then they that are in the flesh, cannot please God. ⁹ But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now is any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. ¹⁰ And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead, because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life, because of righteousness. ¹¹ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead, dwell in you; he that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead, shall also quicken your mortal bodies, by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. ¹² Therefore, brethren, we are debters, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. ¹³ For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but is ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live.

¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, unto its lusts.

¹ And you who were dead in your trespasses and sins, ² Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. ³ Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past, in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh, and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. ⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for the great love wherewith he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickned us together with Christ, by whose grace ye are saved.

¹³ For it is God who worketh in you, both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

² That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh, to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

¹ And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from Jordan, and was led by the spirit into the wilderness,

³⁴ Jesus answered them, Verily verily I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin, is a servant,

¹² Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it.

¹¹ Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For ye wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. ¹³ Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day; and having done all,

¹⁷ Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren; that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest, in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people:

¹⁵ For we have not an high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, without sin.

¹⁹ While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

³⁴ Jesus saith unto them, My food is that I may do the will of him that sent me, and finish his work.

²⁹ But he [is] a Jew, who is one inwardly; and circumcision [is] of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter, whose praise is not of men but of God.

¹⁶ For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

¹⁶ That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit in the inner man;

⁹ Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

¹⁰ For this [is] my covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

⁴ But the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

²¹ I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me.

¹¹ But thou, O man of God, flee these things: and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. ¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay bold on eternal life, whereunto thou art called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

²⁵ In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; ²⁶ And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

⁴ For ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

¹¹ Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshy lusts, which war against the soul;

⁴ Blessed [are] the meek: for they all inherit the earth.

⁶ Blessed [are] they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled,

¹⁸ The spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me; I am sent to preach the gospel to the poor, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

⁶ Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

¹³ For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but is ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the flesh, ye shall live.

²⁶ Likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession, with groanings which cannot be uttered.

⁸ For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: ⁹ But we [had] the sentence of death in our selves, that we should not trust in our selves, but in God, who raiseth the dead. ¹⁰ Who delivered us from so great a death; in whom we trust that he will yet deliver [us]:

⁷ And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me. ⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

¹¹ In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ:

¹⁸ The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve [me] unto his heavenly kingdom; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. ¹⁵ And deliver them who through fear of death, were all their life time subject to bondage.

⁴ And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; the former things are passed away.

²¹ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

¹⁷ But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin: but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which ye were delivered.

⁵⁷ But thanks [be] to God who hath given us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift.

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: For these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. ¹⁸ But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, laciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hared, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance, chastity: against such there is no law. ²⁴ And they that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts.

²⁰ Giving thanks always for all things unto God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁶ Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.

¹⁷ Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
