¹⁰ And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

⁴⁶ For if ye shall love them who love you, what reward will ye have? do not even the publicans the same? ⁴⁷ And if ye salute your brethren only, what do you that is extraordinary? do not even the heathens so?

¹⁵ And it came to pass, that as Jesus was sitting at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, who also followed him. ¹⁶ And the scribes and Pharisees saw him eating with publicans and sinners; and thy said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth with publicans and sinners? ¹⁷ When Jesus heard [it], he saith, They that are well, have no need of the physician, but they that are ill: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.

²⁹ And Levi made him a great treat in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans, and of others that sat down. ³⁰ And the Pharisees and scribes murmured to his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners. ³¹ But Jesus answering, said unto them, They that are well need not a physician: but they that are sick. ³² I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

³¹ We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any one be a worshipper of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.

¹³ Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and injurious. But I obtained mercy, for this cause, that I did [it] ignorantly, in unbelief: ¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. ¹⁶ Howbeit, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me Jesus Christ might shew forth all his long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
