¹⁷ Think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to perfect [them].

¹⁵ And Jesus answering, said unto him, Suffer [it] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

¹² Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

¹⁷ And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

⁵ But Moses in the law commanded, to stone such women, But what sayst thou now?

¹³ And set up false witnesses against him, who said, This Man ceaseth not to speak words against the holy place, and the law.

¹³ Crying out against him and saying, The fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

²⁸ Crying out, Men of Israel, help: this is the man that teacheth all every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and hath brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

³¹ Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

⁴ That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit,

⁴ For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

¹⁷ And this I say, The covenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. ¹⁸ For if the inheritance [be] of the law, [it is] no more of promise: but God gave [it] to Abraham by promise. ¹⁹ Wherefore then is the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come, to whom the promise was made; ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. ²⁰ Now a mediator is not of one; but God is one. ²¹ [Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law, ²² But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. ²³ But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith, which should afterwards be revealed. ²⁴ Wherefore the law was our school-master, unto Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith.

⁴ But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, ⁵ To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons,

¹⁶ Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath. ¹⁷ Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.

³ But in those a remembrance [is] made of sins every year. ⁴ For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats, should take away sins. ⁵ Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: ⁶ In burnt-offering and [offering] for sin thou hast had no pleasure: ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come, For in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above, when he said, Sacrifices, and offerings, and burnt offerings, and [offerings] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure, which are offered by the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By the which will we have been sanctified, through the offering of the blood of Jesus Christ once. ¹¹ And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins: ¹² But He, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, for ever sat down on the right hand of God;
