³³ And when they were come unto the place Golgotha, that is to say the place of a scull,

²² And they led him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, the place of a scull. ²³ And they gave him to drink, wine mingled with myrrh; and he received [it] not. ²⁴ And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, [and] cast a lot upon them, what [every one] should take. ²⁵ And it was the third hour, and they guarded him. ²⁶ But the superscription of his accusation was written over, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ²⁷ And with him were crucified two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on the left. ²⁸ [OMITTED TEXT] ²⁹ And they that passed by, blasphemed him, wagging [their] heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days! ³⁰ Save thy self, and come down from the cross. ³¹ But the chief priests mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others, himself he cannot save. ³² Let Christ the king of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe him. And they that were crucified with him, reproached him.

³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus called with a loud voice, [Elei, Elei, Lama Zaphthani?] which is, being interpreted, [My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken[reproached me [Gr.]] me?

²⁷ And there followed him a company of people, [and] women who bewailed and lamented him. ²⁸ But Jesus turning unto them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem weep not for me, nor lament; but weep for your selves, and your children. ²⁹ For the days will come, in the which they shall say, Blessed [are] the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave nourishment. ³⁰ Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us, ³¹ For if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry? ³² And there were also two other malefactors led with him to be put to death. ³³ And when they were come to the place which is called the Scull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors together; one on the right hand, and the other on the left. ³⁴ But they parted his raiment, and cast a lot. ³⁵ And the people stood beholding. But they derided him, and they said to him, Thou hast saved others, save thy self, if thou beest Christ, the Son of God: If thou beest the chosen, ³⁶ And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and they brought him vinegar, ³⁷ And saying, Hail king of the Jews, and puting a crown of thorns [on him.] ³⁸ And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

⁴⁴ And it was the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

¹⁷ And he bearing his cross, went forth into what is called the place of a scull, which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha; ¹⁸ Where they crucified him, and two others with him, on either side one, but Jesus in the midst. ¹⁹ And Pilate wrote a title and put on the cross, And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

²³ The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part, and also the coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. ²⁴ But they said among themselves, Let us not rent it, but cast lots for it, whose it is, that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my garments among them, and for my vesture they did cast a lot. These things therefore the soldiers did.
