²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days, shall the sunbe darkned, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

⁸ All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.

²¹ For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor may they ever be again.

²⁴ But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkned, and the moon shall not give her light: ²⁵ And the stars of heaven shall be falling and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, and perplexity, the sea and the waves roring; ²⁶ Mens hearts failing them for fear, and for expectation of those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers which are in heaven shall be shaken.

¹⁹ And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath, ²⁰ The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great day of the Lord come.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat; the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up

¹² And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood: ¹³ And the stars of God fell unto the earth, even as a fig-tree calleth her untimely figs when she is shaken of a mighty wind: ¹⁴ the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places: ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the chief captains, and the rich men, and the strong men, and every bond-man and free-man hid themselves in the dens, and in the rocks of the mountains; ¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

¹² And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a fourth part of it, and the night likewise.
