²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto the west: so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁰ And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.

²⁸ Verily I say unto you, There be some of those that stand here, who shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age?

³⁷ For as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁹ And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of man be.

²⁴ For as the lightning that lightneth out of the one [part] under heaven, shineth, so shall also the Son of man be in his day. ²⁵ But he must first suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. ²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. ²⁷ They did eat, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entred into the ark: and the flood came, and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot, they eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded: ²⁹ On the same day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. ³⁰ Even thus shall it be in the day of the Son of man, when he shall be revealed. ³¹ In that day, he who shall be upon the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not come down to take them away: and he who is in the field, let him likewise not return back. ³² Remember Lot's wife. ³³ Whosoever shall save his life, shall lose [it:] and whosoever shall lose his life, shall preserve it. ³⁴ I tell you, in that night there will be two men upon one bed; the one will be taken, and the other will be left. ³⁵ Two women will be grinding together, the one will be taken, and the other left. ³⁶ Two men will be in the field; the one will be taken, and the other left. ³⁷ And they answered and said, Where, Lord? And, he said unto them, Where the body [is,] thither will the eagles be gathered together.

⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

⁴ And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
