⁴⁴ And he said unto them, These [were] my words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses, and the Prophets, and the Psalms concerning me.

²¹ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days arise again.

²² And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: ²³ And they shall kill him, and after three days he shall be raised: and they were exceeding sorry.

¹⁸ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be betrayed unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, ¹⁹ And will deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucifie: and the third day he will rise again.

⁵⁴ But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

⁵⁶ But all this hath been done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook im, and fled.

³¹ And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and of the chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. ³² And he spake that aying publickly. And Peter took [him], and began to rebuke him.

³¹ For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and after three days he shall rise again.

³³ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes: and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the gentiles; ³⁴ And they shall mock him, and shall spit upon him, and after three days he shall rise again.

²² Saying, That the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and chief priests, and scribes and be slain, and rise again after three days.

⁴⁴ Put ye these sayings into your ears: for the Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men.

³¹ Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be accomplished. ³² For he will be delivered unto the Gentiles, and be mocked, and spit on. ³³ And they will scourge [him,] and put him to death: and the third day he will rise again. ³⁴ And they understood none of these things: But the saying was hidden from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.

²² For these be the days of vengence, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

³⁷ For I say, that this which is written, must be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: For These things that concern me have an end.

⁶ Remember how many things he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, ⁷ That the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

²⁶ That Christ ought to have suffered these things, and to have entred into his glory? ²⁷ And he began from Moses, and all the prophets, to expound unto them in the scriptures, the things concerning himself.

⁴⁶ And said unto them, Thus it is written, that Christ should suffer, and rise the third day.

¹⁴ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

³⁹ Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testifie of me.

⁴⁶ For had ye believed Moses, ye would also have believed me: for he wrote of me.

⁴⁶ But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

⁴ These things have I told you, that when the hour shall come, ye may remember them that I told you. And these things I said not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you. ⁵ But now I go to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

¹⁶ A little while and ye shall see me no longer; and again, in a little while, and ye shall see me, [Because I go to the Father]. ¹⁷ Some of his disciples therefore said among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while and ye shall see me no longer: and again, a little while and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

¹¹ And I am no longer in this world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. I am no longer in the world, and I am in the world: Holy Father, keep them in thy name. ¹² What thou gavest me, that they they may be one as we are. While I was with them, I kept them in thy name. Those that thou gavest me I have kept: And none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things I speak in this world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

²⁴ But they said among themselves, Let us not rent it, but cast lots for it, whose it is, that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my garments among them, and for my vesture they did cast a lot. These things therefore the soldiers did. ²⁵ Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother, and his mothers sister, Mary [the] daughter of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. ²⁶ When Jesus therefore saw [his] mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, they son. ²⁷ Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother. And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own [home]. ²⁸ After this, Jesus knowing that all things were already accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. ²⁹ There was therefore set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. ³⁰ When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost. ³¹ The Jews therefore, because it [was] the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath, because it was the preparation, for that was the great Sabbath day, besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and they might be taken away. ³² The soldiers therefore came and brake the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him. ³³ But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs. ³⁴ But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. ³⁵ And he that saw [it], bear record, and his record is true: and he knoweth [Read: we know, as 21:24] that he saith true, that ye also might believe. ³⁶ For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, Ye shall not break a bone of him. ³⁷ And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

¹⁸ But what God before had shewed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

²² Moses truly said unto our fathers, A prophet shall the Lord our God raise up unto you, of our brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. ²³ And it shall come to pass, every soul which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. ²⁴ All the prophets also from Samuel, and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise spoken of these days.

³⁷ This is that Moses who said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me.

²⁹ And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they desired Pilate to crucify him, and when they had obtained that, and had taken him down from the tree, they laid [him] in a sepulchre. ³⁰ Whom God raised. ³¹ He was seen many days of them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are till now his witnesses unto the people.

³³ For thus hath God fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus Christ again; as it is also written in the first psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession.

² And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, [and] three sabbaths reasoned with them out of the scriptures, ³ Opening and alledging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead: and that this Jesus whom I preach unto you is Christ.

³ For I delivered unto you first of all, that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures: ⁴ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the scriptures:

⁵ And Moses verily [was] faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

¹ For this Melchisedec was king of Salem, and priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the Kings, and blessed him, and Abraham was blessed by him.

⁸ The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all, is not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle is yet standing:

¹ For the law having a shadow of good things to come, can never with those sacrifices which they offer year by year continually, purify the commers thereunto.

¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings for Christ, and the glory that should follow.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him: And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not; I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
