¹ Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race which is set before us, ² Looking unto Jesus theauthor and finisher of the faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. ³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. ⁴ For ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. ⁵ And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, [My] son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him. ⁶ For whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. ⁷ If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? ⁸ But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh, who corrected us, and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they verily for a few days chastned us, after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. ¹¹ No chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness, unto them who are exercised thereby. ¹² Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees. ¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed. ¹⁴ Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: ¹⁵ Looking diligently, that no one fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness spring up, with gall, and thereby many be defiled: ¹⁶ Lest there [be] any fornicator, or profane person; As Esau for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. ¹⁷ For ye know how that afterward when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. ¹⁸ For ye are not come unto the mount that might [[Read] not, [Exod.] xix. 12, 13, 23. [and here. v.] 20.] be touched, that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, ¹⁹ And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words, which they that heard entreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: ²⁰ For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned. ²¹ And so terrible was the sight, [that] Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake. ²² But ye are come unto mount Sion, unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to holy ten thousands of angels, ²³ To the general assembly and church of the first-born who are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, ²⁴ And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than Abel. ²⁵ Seethat ye refuse not him that speaketh to you: For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more we, if we turn away from him that is from the heavens: ²⁶ Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promiseth, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. ²⁷ And this, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as those things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. ²⁸ Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear. ²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

²² And ye shall be hated of all for my names sake: but he that endureth to the end, shall be saved.

³⁷ He that loveth father or mother more than me, is not worthy of me: ³⁸ And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

¹³ But he that shall have endured unto the end, the same shall be saved.

¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns, are they, who when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no perfect fruit. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground, are they, who in a good heart, having heard the word of God, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Where is your faith?And they being afraid, wondred, saying one to another, What a man is this? for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

⁵⁹ And he said unto another, Follow me: But he said, suffer me first to go away, and bury my father. ⁶⁰ But he said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead; but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. ⁶¹ And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee: but let me first bid them farewell who are at home at my house. ⁶² But Jesus said unto him, No man looking back, and putting his hand to the plough, is fit for the kingdom of God.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of all sort of covetousness; for life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which a man possesseth.

²⁶ If any man comes to me, and hates not his father, and his mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. ²⁷ And he that doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. ²⁸ But which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have to finish [it]? ²⁹ Lest perhaps after he hath laid the foundation, but is not able to build and finish [it,] all that behold [it], begin to mock him, and to say, ³⁰ This man began to build, and was not able to finish. ³¹ Or what king going to make war against another king, doth not presently sit down and consulteth first whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? ³² Or if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. ³³ Likewise, also whosoever he be of you, that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

²⁸ For I have five brethren; that he may testifie unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

²² Now when Jesus heard [him,] he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: Sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in the heavens: and come, follow me. ²³ And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. ²⁴ And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to pass through a needles eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

³⁴ Take heed to your selves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unwares.

³² But he that cometh from above, is above all: he that is of the earth, is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth. He that cometh from heaven, testifyeth, what he hath seen and heard, and no one receiveth his testimony.

³⁹ And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him, for the word of the woman which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

⁴⁴ For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

⁷ To them who by patient continuance in well-doing, seek for glory, and honour, and immortality; eternal life:

³ And not only this, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; ⁴ And patience, experience; and experience, hope: ⁵ And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.

²⁴ For we are saved by hope: But hope that is seen, is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? ²⁵ But if we hope for that we see not, we do with patience wait for it.

¹² Rejoycing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer:

¹¹ And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. ¹² The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast away the works of darkness, but let us put on the armour of light. ¹³ Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying ¹⁴ But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, unto its lusts.

²⁴ Know ye not that they who run in a race, run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run that ye may obtain. ²⁵ And every one that striveth for the mastery, is temperate in all things: Now, they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. ²⁶ I therefore so run, not as uncertainly: so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: ²⁷ But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I my self should be a castaway.

¹ Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse our selves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

⁷ Ye did run well, who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?

²² That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, who is corrupt according to the deceitful lust: ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; ²⁴ And that ye put on the new man, who after God is created in righteousness, and holiness, and truth.

¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

¹⁰ That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his suffering, being made conformable unto his death; ¹¹ If by any means I might attain to that resurrection which is of the dead: ¹² Not as though I had already attained, or am already justified, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ. ¹³ Brethren, I count not my self to have yet apprended: but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, and uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: ⁶ For which thing's sake, the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience. ⁷ In the which ye also walked some time when ye lived in them. ⁸ But now you also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

⁹ But they that will be rich, fall into temptation, and the snare of the devil, and many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

⁴ No man that warreth, entangleth himself with the affairs of life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

¹⁵ And so after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. ³⁶ For ye have need of patience; that after ye have done the will of God ye may receive the promise. ³⁷ For yet a while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. ³⁸ Now the just shall live by my faith: but if he draw back, my foul shall have no pleasure in him. ³⁹ But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition: but of them that believe, to the saving of the soul.

² For by it the elders obtained a good report. ³ Through faith we understand that the ages were framed by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made of things which do appear. ⁴ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness, that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead, yet speaketh. ⁵ By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before the translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. ⁶ But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God, must believe that he is, and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. ⁷ By faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. ⁸ By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which be should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. ⁹ He sojourned in the land of promise, as [in] a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of his promise. ¹⁰ For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God. ¹¹ Through faith also the barren Sara her self received strength to conceive a child, when she was past age; because she judged him faithful who had promised. ¹² Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand of the sea, innumerable. ¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and embraced [them], and confessed that they were strangers and sojourners and pilgrims on the earth. ¹⁴ For they that say such things, declare plainly that they seek a country. ¹⁵ And truly if they were mindful of that from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned: ¹⁶ But now they desire a better, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called [their] God: for he hath prepared for them a city. ¹⁷ By faith Abraham when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises, offered up his only begotten: ¹⁸ Of whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called: ¹⁹ Accounting that God was able to raise [him] up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. ²⁰ By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Eau also concerning things to come. ²¹ By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped upon the top of his staff. ²² By faith, Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. ²³ By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw [he was] a beautiful child; and they were [[Omit] not.] not afraid of the king's commandment.[By faith Moses, when he was become great, slew the Egyptian; considering the depression of his brethren,] ²⁴ By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; ²⁵ Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; ²⁶ Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. ²⁷ By saith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. ²⁸ Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the first-born, should touch them. ²⁹ By faith they passed through the Red-sea, as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do, were drowned. ³⁰ By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. ³¹ By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. ³² And what shall I say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae, [of] David also and Samuel, and [of] the prophets: ³³ Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, ³⁴ Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. ³⁵ Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection. ³⁶ And others had trial of mockings, and scourgings, yea moreover, of bonds, and imprisonment. ³⁷ They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheep-skins, and goat-skins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented: ³⁸ Of whom the world was not worthy, they wandered in deserts, and mountains, and dens and caves of the earth.

³ Knowing [this,] that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruits of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the former and latter rain. ⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. ⁹ Grudge not one against another, my brethren, lest ye be judged: behold, the judge standeth before the door. ¹⁰ Brethren, ye have the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. ¹¹ Behold, we count them happy who have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of job, and have seen the end of the Lord: that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

¹ Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and evil-speakings,

² That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh, to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

¹² By Silvanus a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying, that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

⁶ And to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness;

¹⁵ Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of God is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world,

⁹ I John, who am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience in Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, [for] the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus

¹⁰ And thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

¹⁰ If any one [leadeth] into captivity, he goeth into captivity: he that killeth with the sword, must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

¹⁶ I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star.

²¹ From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days arise again.

¹⁸ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be betrayed unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, ¹⁹ And will deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucifie: and the third day he will rise again. ²⁰ Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children, with her sons worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

²⁸ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministred unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. But do you seek to increase from a little, and to be diminished from what is greater. However, when you are come and are desired to sup, do not you sit in the most eminent places, lest more honourable than thou come, and he that invited thee to supper come upon thee and say to thee, Go down still lower; and thou be put to confusion. But if thou sittest in a lower place, and one inferior to thee comes, he that invited thee will say to thee, Go and sit higher. For this will be to thy advantage.

⁶⁷ Then did they spit in his face, and buffet him, and others smote [him] with the palms of their hands. ⁶⁸ Saying, Prophesie unto us, thou Christ, who was he that smote thee?

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band. ²⁸ And they stripped him of his clothes, and put on him a purple garment and a scarlet robe. ²⁹ And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] on his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews. ³⁰ And they spit upon him, and took the reed, ad smote him on the head. ³¹ And when they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucifie [him]. ³² And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name coming to meet him: him they compelled to take his cross. ³³ And when they were come unto the place Golgotha, that is to say the place of a scull, ³⁴ They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall: and when he had tasted he would not drink. ³⁵ and they crucified him, and parted his garments casting lots. ³⁶ And sitting down, they watched him there. ³⁷ And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ³⁸ Then were there two thieves crucified with him: one on the right hand, and another on the left. ³⁹ And they that passed by, reviled him, wagging their head, ⁴⁰ And saying, wo! Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, save thy self if thou be the Son of God, and come down from the cross. ⁴¹ Likewise also the Scribes and Pharisees, mocking him, said, ⁴² He saved others, himself he cannot save; let him now come down from the cross and we will believe him. ⁴³ If he trusted in God let him deliver him now if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. ⁴⁴ The thieves also who were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. ⁴⁵ Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. ⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying [Eli, Eli, lama Zaphthani?] that is to say, My God, my God why hast thou forsaken me? ⁴⁷ Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias. ⁴⁸ And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink. ⁴⁹ The rest said, Let him alone, let us see whether Elias will come and save him. ⁵⁰ Jesus when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

¹² And he answered and said to them, If Elias cometh first, he will restore all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.

²⁴ And straightway the father of the child cries out, and says with tears, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

³⁶ And he said, Abba, Father, All things [are] possible unto thee, take away this cup from me: nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

⁵ And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

¹¹ And Herod with his soldiers set him at nought, and mocked [him,] and arayed him in a shining robe, and sent him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood beholding. But they derided him, and they said to him, Thou hast saved others, save thy self, if thou beest Christ, the Son of God: If thou beest the chosen, ³⁶ And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and they brought him vinegar, ³⁷ And saying, Hail king of the Jews, and puting a crown of thorns [on him.] ³⁸ And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, Latin, Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. ³⁹ And one of the Malefactors blasphemed him:

²⁶ That Christ ought to have suffered these things, and to have entred into his glory?

²⁹ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world.

⁴⁰ For this is the will of my Father that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁵⁶ Your father Abraham rejoyced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad.

²⁴ Verily verily I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat falling into the ground die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

²⁷ Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? but for this cause came I unto this hour. ²⁸ Father, glorifie thy name with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. And a voice came from heaven saying, I have both glorified [it], and will glorifie [it] again.

³² And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all things unto me.

³ He knowing that the Father had given him all things into [his] hands, and that he was come from God, and that he went to God.

³² God shalt also glorifie him in himself, and shall straightway glorifie him.

¹ These words spake Jesus; and lift up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorifie thy Son, that thy Son may glorifie thee. ² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that every one whom thou hast given him may have eternal life. ³ And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent into this world. ⁴ I have glorified thee on the earth: And I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

²⁵ For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw my Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved. ²⁶ Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad: moreover also, my flesh shall rest in hope,

³⁶ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that Jesus whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

³¹ Him hath God exalted in glory, a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins in him.

⁴¹ The apostles therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for [his] name.

⁷ So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: ⁸ Who shall also confirm you unto the end, blameless, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁶ And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

² And walk in love, as Christ also hath saved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet-smelling savour.

⁶ Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you, will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ;

⁸ And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. ⁹ Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth; ¹¹ And that every tongue should confess, that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

²⁰ For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

⁸ Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto them also that love his appearing.

¹³ Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God, and our Saviour Jesus Christ: ¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

³ Who being a beam of his glory, and the express image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

¹³ But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

⁷ Thou madest him for a litle while lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: ⁸ Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. ¹⁰ For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are] all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

¹⁹ For the law made nothing perfect, but the introduction of a better hope [did]; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

¹ Now of the things which we have spoken, [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

²⁸ So Christ also was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time, without sin, unto salvation.

⁵ Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: ⁶ In burnt-offering and [offering] for sin thou hast had no pleasure: ⁷ Then said I, Lo, I come, For in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God. ⁸ Above, when he said, Sacrifices, and offerings, and burnt offerings, and [offerings] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure, which are offered by the law; ⁹ Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. ¹⁰ By the which will we have been sanctified, through the offering of the blood of Jesus Christ once. ¹¹ And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins: ¹² But He, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, for ever sat down on the right hand of God;

¹⁴ For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

³³ Partly whilst ye were reproached, both by abuses and afflictions; and partly whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

³⁶ And others had trial of mockings, and scourgings, yea moreover, of bonds, and imprisonment.

³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

¹³ Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

¹¹ Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings for Christ, and the glory that should follow.

²³ Who when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatned not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously; ²⁴ Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we being dead to our sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose wound ye were healed.

¹⁸ For Christ also hath once died for sins for us, the just for the unjust; that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickned by the Spirit:

²² Who isgone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God, angels, and authorities, and powers, being made subject unto him.

¹⁴ If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and power, and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. ¹⁵ But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or [as] a thief, or [as] an evil doer, or as an overseer in other mens matters. ¹⁶ Yet if [it be] as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this name.

¹ THAT which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled of the word of life; ² For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you also that eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us. ³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, saith the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹¹ Saying, what thou seest, write in a book, and send unto the seven churches, unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamus, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead: and he laid his right hand upon me, saying. Fear not; I am the first begotten, and the last:

⁸ And unto the angel who is at the church of Smyrna, write, These things saith the first begotten, arid the last, who was dead, and is alive;

²⁴ The disciple is not above the master, nor the servant above the lord. ²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be as the master, and the servant as his lord: if they shall call the master of the House Beelzebub, how much more them of his household?

¹⁹ The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a man gluttonous and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners: and wisdom is justified of her children.

²⁴ But when the Pharisees heard [it], they said, This man doth not cast out dæmons but by Beelzebub, the prince of the dæmons.

² Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

¹⁵ And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they had indignation, ¹⁶ And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yes; have ye never read, Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

²³ And when he was come into temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority dost thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

⁴⁶ But when they sought to lay hold on him, they feared the multitudes, because they took him for a prophet.

¹⁵ Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in talk.

³⁴ And Symeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this [child] is set for the fall and for the rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be contradicted.

²⁸ But all they in the synagogue, when they had heard these things, were filled with wrath, ²⁹ And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying in their hearts, what does this man speak, blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?

¹⁵ And some of them said, He casteth out daemons through Beelzebub, the chief of the daemons. But he answered and said, How can Satan cast out Satan? ¹⁶ And others tempting [him,] said, Give us a sign from Heaven.

⁵³ And as [he] said these things unto them, before all the people, the Pharisees and lawyers began to urge [him] vehemently, and to confer with him about many things: ⁵⁴ Seeking to obtain some occasion against him, that they might have wherewith to accuse him.

¹³ And he laid hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. ¹⁴ But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and said, unto the multitude. There are six days in which they ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath-day.

¹ And it came to pass, as he entred into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him.

² And both the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying that, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

¹⁴ And the Pharisees also being covetous, heard [this,] and they derided him[.]

³⁹ But some of the Pharisees from among the multitude, said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ But he answered and said unto them, I say unto you, that if these should hold their peace, the stones would cry out.

¹⁶ And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, because he had done these things on the sabbath.

¹² And there was a murmuring among the multitude concerning him: Some said, He is a good [man]: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people.

¹³ The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of they self, thy record is not true.

⁴⁸ The Jews, answered and said unto him, Say we not well, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a daemon? ⁴⁹ Jesus answered, I have not a daemon; but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me.

⁵² The Jews therefore said unto him, Now we have known that thou hast a daemon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayst, If a man observe my saying, he shall never taste of death.

⁵⁹ Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, and so passed by.

⁴⁰ But some of the Pharisees who were with him heard, and said unto him, Are we blind also?

²⁰ Many of them therefore said, He hath a daemon, and is mad; why hear ye him?

³¹ Then the Jews took up stones to stone him. ³² Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? ³³ The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that being a man thou makest thy self God. ³⁴ Jesus answered them and said, Is it not written in your law, that I said, Ye are gods? ³⁵ If he called them gods? unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken: ³⁶ Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, that Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? ³⁷ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. ³⁸ But if I do, though ye will not believe me, believe the works: that ye may know and believe that the Father [is] in me, and I in the Father. ³⁹ And they sought to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

⁹ But many therefore of the multitude of the Jews heard that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. ¹⁰ But the chief priests consulted, that they might put Lazarus also to death;

¹⁸ If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me first, ¹⁹ If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: Because ye were not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. ²⁰ Remember the words that I said unto you, my servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have observed my saying, they will observe yours also. ²¹ But these things will they do unto you for my names sake, because they know not him that sent me. ²² If I had not come, and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. ²³ He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no one else had done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen me, and hated me and my Father.

²² And when he had spoken these things, one of the officers who stood by, struck Jesus, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

⁵⁸ Therefore, my loved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy we faint not:

¹⁶ For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

⁹ And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

¹³ But ye, brethren, be not weary in well-doing.

⁷ Mind what I say; and the Lord will give thee understanding in all things. ⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David, was raise from the dead, according to my gospel:

¹ Wherefore, Holy Brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and high priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

² Looking unto Jesus theauthor and finisher of the faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

⁵ And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, [My] son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him.

³ And hast patience, and hast borne for my names fake, and haft not fainted.

⁹ Then shall they deliver you to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake.

¹³ There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not leave you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

⁶ For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. ⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions: ³³ Partly whilst ye were reproached, both by abuses and afflictions; and partly whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. ³⁴ For ye had compassion of those in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in your selves that ye have a better and an enduring substance.

¹³ I know where thou dwellest, where satans seat [is]: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even, in those days [wherein] Antipas my faithful martyr was slain among you, where satan dwelleth.

⁹ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and the testimony which they held. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? ¹¹ And a white robe was given unto every one of them, and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also, and their brethren that should be killed as they [were,] should be fulfilled.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

⁶ And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

⁹ Do ye not yet understand, neither remember when there were five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? ¹⁰ Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

⁶ Remember how many things he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

⁸ And they remembred his words,

³² But when we are judged we are chastned of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

⁸ [We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; ⁹ Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

⁹ And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

³ For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. ⁴ For ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

⁷ If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

¹² Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which He hath promised to them that love him.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent.

⁷ If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons: for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? ⁸ But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards and not sons.

¹¹ Behold, we count them happy who have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of job, and have seen the end of the Lord: that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

²² Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation come into the kingdom of God.

⁶ For whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

⁹ Whom resist stedfast in the faith; knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the World. ¹⁰ But the God of all Grace, who hath called you unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, will make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].

⁶ That which is born of the flesh, is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit; is Spirit.

³⁰ Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his heart* (*read loins), according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ, and to place him on his throne.

³ Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made to him of the seed of David, according to the flesh,

³ For I could wish that myself were an anathema from Christ, for my brethren and kinsmen who are according to the flesh:

⁵ Whose [are] the fathers; and of whom as concerning the flesh is Christ, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

¹ Children, obey your parents: for this is right. ² Honour thy father and mother, which is the first commandment, with promise, ³ That it may be well with thee, and thou mayst live long on the earth. ⁴ And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

⁷ Submit your selves therefore to God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you:

¹⁰ Humble your selves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

⁶ Humble your selves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation.

²⁴ And that ye put on the new man, who after God is created in righteousness, and holiness, and truth.

²⁶ That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water, by the word, ²⁷ That he might himself present it a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

²² In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable, and unreproveable in his sight:

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

⁵ And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, [My] son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him. ⁶ For whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

¹⁵ But as he who hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; ¹⁶ Because it is written, Ye shall be holy, for I am holy.

⁵ Ye also as lively stones, are built upon them a spiritual house, unto an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

⁹ But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

⁴ Whereby are given unto you exceeding great and precious promises; that by these you might be partakers of a divine nature, having escaped the Corruption that is in the world through lust.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

¹⁷ For our light and short affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding eternal weight of glory;

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, ²³ Meekness, temperance, chastity: against such there is no law.

⁷ But refuse profane and old wives fables, and exercise thy self unto godliness. ⁸ For bodily exercise profiteth little: godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

¹⁴ But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, to those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

¹⁰ For they verily for a few days chastned us, after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entrated, full of mercy and good fruits, without wavering, without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

⁶ Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations.

¹⁴ Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised in covetous practices: cursed children :

¹⁴ Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

⁵ Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thy self, lest thy self also be tempted.

¹⁶ Confess therefore [your] sins one to another, pray one for another, that ye may be healed: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

²² And reprove those that differ: ²³ And others save, pulling [them] out of the fire; but of some have compassion with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

⁸ Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. ⁹ Blessed [are] the peace-makers: for they shall be called the children of God.

⁵⁰ Salt [is] good: but if the salt shall have lost its saltness, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Have salt in your selves, and be at peace one with another.

⁷⁵ In holiness and righteousness before him, all our days.

²² But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

¹⁹ Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and observe the things wherewith one may edify another

¹⁰ Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you; but ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

¹² Now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

¹⁷ Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

²¹ [Is] the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law,

¹ I therefore the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you, that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, ² With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; ³ Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace. ⁴ One body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ One Lord, one faith, one baptism, ⁶ One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and though all, and in you all. ⁷ But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. ⁸ Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led a captivity captive, [and] gave gifts unto men.

⁵ For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.

¹² Not as though I had already attained, or am already justified, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ. ¹³ To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints. Amen.

⁷ For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

¹⁵ See that none render evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, among your selves, and to all men.

¹¹ But thou, O man of God, flee these things: and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

²² Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

¹¹ But let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

¹³ And who [is] he that will harm you, if you be zealous of that which is good?

¹¹ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in holy conversation and godliness,

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: to him [be] glory, both now and for ever. Amen.

² Beloved, we are now the Sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: We know, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. ³ And every man that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

¹¹ Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good, is of God: He that doeth evil, hath not seen God.

²⁴ And the nations shall walk [by] the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory unto it. ²⁵ And the gates of it shall notbe shut at all by day, for there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. ²⁷ And there shall in no wise enter into it any common thing, neither [that] worketh abomination, or a lie: but they who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

³ And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him. ⁴ And they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

¹¹ He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. ¹² Behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work is. ¹³ [I] [am] Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. ¹⁴ Blessed [are] they that wash their garments, that they may have power over the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. ¹⁵ Without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

¹⁶ Ye shall know them by their fruits: Do men gather a grape of thorns, or figs of thistles? ¹⁷ Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruits: but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruits. ¹⁸ [OMITTED TEXT]

³² But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not; But when thou art converted, convert also thy brethren.

³⁰ Also of your own selves will men arise, speaking perverse things to turn away the disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember that for three years night and day I ceased not to warn every one of you with tears.

⁶ Your glorying it not good: Know ye not that a little leaven corrupteth the whole lump?

¹² Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.

⁸ Charity never faileth: but whether prophecies, they shall fail; whether tongues, they shall cease; whether knowledge, it shall vanish away.

³³ Be not deceived! Evil communications corrupt good manners.

¹ We fellow-workers exhorting you, Receive not the grace of God in vain:

⁵ Examine your selves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: know ye not your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

¹³ And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

⁴ Christ is become of no effect unto you; whosoever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace.

³ But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named amongst you, as becometh saints.

⁵ Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, and uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

¹⁶ But shun profane and vain bablings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness. ¹⁷ And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let [them] slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

¹² Take heed, Brethren, lest here be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

¹ Let us therefore fear, lest a promise being left of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

¹¹ Let us labour therefore, Brethren, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall from the same example of truth.

¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

²³ Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he [is] faithful that promised: ²⁴ And let us consider one another to provoke unto love, and to good works: ²⁵ Not forsaking the assembling of our selves together, as the manner of same [is]; but exhorting: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. ²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is not another sacrifice left still to be offered. ²⁷ But a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. ²⁸ He that despised Moses law, died without mercy and tears, under two or three witnesses: ²⁹ Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath troden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? ³⁰ For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompence. And again, That the Lord shall judge his people. ³¹ [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. ³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions: ³³ Partly whilst ye were reproached, both by abuses and afflictions; and partly whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. ³⁴ For ye had compassion of those in bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in your selves that ye have a better and an enduring substance. ³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

¹⁰ Wherefore the rather, Brethren, give diligence that by your good works you may make your comfort and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall not fall:

¹ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who privily will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction, ² And many will follow their filthiness, by reason of whom the glory of truth will be evil spoken of.

¹⁸ For when they speak great swelling [words] of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that in some measure escape from them who live in error:

¹⁴ Wherefore, Beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent, that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless:

⁸ Look to your selves, that ye lose not those things which ye have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward.

²⁰ But ye, beloved, building up yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, ²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of man proceed evil reasonings, fornications, thefts, adulteries, murder,

²⁰ But that we send unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and fornication, and blood. And what things they would not have done to themselves, do not [ye] to others:

²⁹ That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from fornication: And what things ye would not have done to your selves, not to do to another: from which if ye keep your selves ye shall do well, as moved by the Holy Spirit. Fare ye well.

¹ It is reported commonly, fornication is among you, and such fornication as is not even among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. ² And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who hath done this deed, might be taken from among you. ³ For I verily being absent in body, but present it spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, him that hath so done this deed; ⁴ In the name of our Lord Jesus, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, ⁵ To deliver such an one unto Satan, for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved to the day of the Lord Jesus Christ. ⁶ Your glorying it not good: Know ye not that a little leaven corrupteth the whole lump?

⁹ I wrote unto you in an epistle, not to accompany with fornicators. ¹⁰ Not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. ¹¹ But now I have written unto you, not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such an one, no not to eat.

¹⁵ Know ye not, that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? By no means. ¹⁶ Know ye not that he that is joined to an harlot, is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. ¹⁷ But he that is joined unto the Lord, is one spirit. ¹⁸ Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doth, is without the body: but he that committeth fornication, sinneth against his own body. ¹⁹ What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

⁸ Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell [Read [four and twenty thousand], from [Numb.] xxv. 9. and some [Greek] Copies.]three and twenty thousand.

²¹ Lest when I come again unto you, my God will humble me, and that I shall bewail many who had sinned before, and have not repented of the uncleanness, and fornication, and lasciviousness which they have committed.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, laciviousness, ²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hared, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, ²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

³ For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: ⁴ That every one of you should know how to posses his vessel in sanctification and honour; ⁵ Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not the Lord. ⁶ That no one should overreach or defraud his brother in that matter: because that the Lord [is] the avenger of all such; as we also have forewarned you, and testified. ⁷ For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

⁴ Let marriage be honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: for whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

²⁰ Notwithstanding, I have against thee, because thou sufferest thy wise Jezabel, who calleth herself a prophetess, and she teacheth and seduceth my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. ²¹ And I gave her space to repent; and she would not repent of her fornication. ²² Behold, I will cast her into prison, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they will repent of their deeds. ²³ I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

⁸ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

¹⁵ Without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me all ye that work iniquity.

¹¹ Afterwards came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. ¹² But he answered and said, Verify I say unto you, I know you not.

²⁴ Strive to enter in at the strait door: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not find it. ²⁵ When once the master of the house shall be come in, and shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence you are: ²⁶ Then shall ye begin to say, Lord, we have eat and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. ²⁷ And he shall say, I tell you, I never knew you: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

⁴ For [it is] impossible for those who were once enlightned, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, ⁵ And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come; ⁶ And are fallen away, to renew them again unto repentance: seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put [him] to an open shame.

⁸ But that which beareth thorns and briers, [is] rejected, and [is] nigh unto cursing; whose end [is] to be burned.

¹⁵ For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

⁹ For if the ministration of condemnation be gory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

⁷ For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, (for the trumpet shall sound) and the dead shall arise incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

¹⁶ For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

¹⁹ Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. ²⁰ Therefore by the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

¹⁹ For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in te book of the law to do them.

³⁵ Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said unto him: Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

²⁶ And it shall come to pass, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called, the children of the living God.

²⁶ And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.

²⁶ But Jerusalem which is above, is free, which is our mother.

⁹ For they themselves shew of us, what manner of entring in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God,

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ do, who through the Holy Spirit, offered himself without spot to God, who will purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God;

³¹ [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

¹⁰ For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker [is] God.

¹⁴ For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

¹⁴ And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with his holy ten thousands,

¹² Him that overcometh, will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and my new name.

¹¹ And I beheld, and Iheard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the animals, and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; ¹² Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, [to] receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength and honour, and glory, and blessing.

² And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

¹ And I looked, and lo, a Lamb standing on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty four thousand, having his name and [his] Father's same written upon their foreheads.

² And I saw the holy new Jerusalem, coming down from heaven, from God: prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁰ And he carried me sway in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

¹⁹ And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophesy, God shall take away his part out of the tree of life, and out of the holy city, [and] the things which are written in this book.

³¹ When the Son of man shall come in [his] glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. ³² And before him shall be gathered all nations; and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: ³³ And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. ³⁴ Than shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the World.

²⁰ But in this rejoyce not, that the daemons are subject unto you: but rejoyce, because your names are written in heaven.

²⁷ And hath given him authority to execute judgement, because he is the Son of man.

⁴⁹ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, let us also bear the image of the heavenly.

⁵⁴ So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

⁸ We are confident, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with God.

²² And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him the head over all things to the church,

²⁴ Therefore as the church is subject unto the Lord, so [let] the wives [be] to the husbands in every thing. ²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it:

²¹ For to me to live [is] Christ, and to die [is] gain. ²² But whether I live in the flesh, this [is] worth my while; yet what I shall choose, I wot not. ²³ But I am in a strait between two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

¹² Not as though I had already attained, or am already justified, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Christ. ¹³ Brethren, I count not my self to have yet apprended: but one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, ¹⁴ I press toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in the Lord Jesus Christ. ¹⁵ Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. ¹⁶ Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us be unanimous: let us walk by the same [rule]. ¹⁷ Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them who walk so, as ye have us for an ensample. ¹⁸ For many walk, of whom, we have said to you often, and now tell you weeping, [they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ: ¹⁹ Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is the] belly: and glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things. ²⁰ For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: ²¹ Who shall change our vile body, [to be] like unto his glorious body; according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

³ Nay, I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow, help those women who laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement, with other my fellow-labourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.

¹² Giving thanks unto the Father, who hath called us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

²⁴ Who now rejoice in sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body's sake, who is the church:

⁵ A manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: ⁶ Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; ⁷ And to you who are troubled, rest with us; when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven, with his mighty angels,

⁵ For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

¹⁰ For God [is] not unrighteous, to forget your work of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministred to the saints, and do minister. ¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence, to the full assurance of hope unto the end: ¹² That ye be not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

²⁷ And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

⁴ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness, that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead, yet speaketh.

⁴⁰ God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

¹⁸ Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of his creatures.

²³ Who when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatned not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously;

¹⁴ And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters of life: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

⁸ And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose name is [not] written in the book of life of the slain Lamb, from the foundation of the world.

⁴ These are not defiled with women; for they are virgins: these are they that follow the lamb whithersoever he goeth: these were redeemed from among [men,] first-fruits unto God, and to the Lamb.

¹⁵ And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the lake of fire.

³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the land, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye have slain between the temple and the altar.

²⁸ For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

²⁴ And he said unto them; This is my blood of the covenant, which is shed for many.

⁵¹ From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, the Son of Barachias whom they slew between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, it shall be required of this generation.

²⁰ Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for [you.]

⁵ For [there is] one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

²² By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better covenant.

⁶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry for thee, by how much he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

⁸ For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold the days come, saith the Lord, whn I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and the house of Judah:

¹⁵ And for this cause he is the Mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions tht were under the first covenant, they who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

²¹ Moreover, he sprinkled likewise with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

²⁸ Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the first-born, should touch them.

²⁰ Now the God of peace that brought again from the ead our Lord Jesus Christ, that great shepherd of the sheep; through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

⁴ And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no one, but go away, shew thy self to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

⁵ While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud over-shadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

³⁵ This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? the same did God send both a ruler and a deliverer, with the hand of an angel who appeared to him in the bush.

⁴ And they will turn away [their] ears from the truth, and will be turned unto fables.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let [them] slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; ³ How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard [him];

¹⁷ But with whom was he grieved forty years? [was it] not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

⁵ Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle. For see, saith he, thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

⁷ By faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently:

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him: And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not; I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

⁹ Then saith he unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them who observe the words of this book: worship God.

²⁷ And this, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as those things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

³¹ And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat; the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up ¹¹ Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in holy conversation and godliness,

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of this world is become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever.

¹ And I saw a new heaven, and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and I saw the sea no longer.

³⁴ Than shall the king say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the World.

³³ And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

²⁰ And when he was asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come; he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. ²¹ Neither shall they say, Lo here, or, lo there: do not believe [them], for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

²⁰ Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high minded, but fear.

¹ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, your reasonable service. ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of the mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

⁶ To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in his beloved Son.

¹⁰ Proving what is acceptable unto God,

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus what was sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

⁶ But Christ as a Son over his own house: which house are we, if we hold fast the confidence, and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

¹⁶ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace for seasonableassistance.

⁷ Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications, with strong crying and tears, unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard, in that he feared;

¹⁹ Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus;

²² Let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. ²³ Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he [is] faithful that promised:

¹⁵ By him let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit the lips, giving thanks to his name.

⁴ To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, ⁵ Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹⁷ And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

²⁰ For what glory [is it],if when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if when ye do well, and suffer, ye take it patiently; for this [is] acceptable with God.

⁶ And hath made us a kingdom, [and] priests unto God, and his father; to whom [be] glory and dominion for ever. Amen.

¹⁰ And hast made them a kingdom and priest: and they shall reign on the earth.

⁴ Who shall not fear [thee,] O Lord, and glorify thy name? for [thou] only [art] holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest O Lord.

⁸ In a flame of fire, taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus:

²⁷ But a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
