¹ THE elder unto the elect lady, and her children whom I love in the truth; But not I only, but also all they that have known the truth: ² For the truths sake which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever: ³ Grace, mercy, peace from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. ⁴ I rejoiced greatly, that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. ⁵ And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. ⁶ And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, that as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. ⁷ For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. ⁸ Look to your selves, that ye lose not those things which ye have wrought, but that ye receive a full reward. ⁹ Whosoever goeth before, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the doctrine, he hath both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him good speed. ¹¹ For he that biddeth him good speed, is partaker of his evil deeds. ¹² Having many things to write unto you, I would not do it with paper and ink; but I hope to be with you, and speak mouth to mouth, that your joy may be full. ¹³ The children of thy elect sister greet thee.

³ It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

³² And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.

⁵ We gave place by subjection, [no not] for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

¹⁴ But when I saw that they walked not uprightly, according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before all, If thou, a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, How compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

¹ O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you? before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you.

⁷ Ye did run well, who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?

⁴ According as he hath chosen us in him, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in love: ⁵ Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

⁵ For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye have already heard in the Word of the truth of the gospel:

³ Remembring without ceasing the work of your faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God, and our Father: ⁴ Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren, beloved of God; because God hath from the beginning chosen us to salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit, and belief of the truth: ¹⁴ Whereunto he called you by our gospel to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

²⁶ For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is not another sacrifice left still to be offered.

² Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit unto obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

²² Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth, unto unfeigned love of the brethren; love one another with the heart fervently: ²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth.

¹ The elders therefore who are among you I exhort, who am a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

²¹ I have not written unto you, because ye know not the truth: but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

⁷ But if ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done.

²³ And I do all things for the gospels sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you].

⁵ For we preach not our selves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and our selves your servants for Jesus sake.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.

⁵ When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth. ²⁴ For all flesh [is] grass, and all its glory as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower falleth away: ²⁵ But the word ofthe Lord endureth for ever. And this is what is preached unto you.

¹² Wherefore I will be ready to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

⁸ If we say we have no sin, we deceive our selves, and the truth is not in us.

¹⁴ I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

¹⁷ And the world passeth away, and its lust: but he that doeth the will of God, abideth for ever.

⁷ To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, the called saints: Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love:

² Unto Timothy, [my] own son in the faith: grace, mercy, peace from God the Father, and Jesus Christ our Lord.

¹⁴ But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith, and love which is in Christ Jesus.

¹³ Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

²³ Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; He that acknowledged the Son, hath the Father also. ²⁴ Let that abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning, shall abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.

¹⁰ Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son the propitiation for our sins.

² And walk in love, as Christ also hath saved us, and hath given himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God, for a sweet-smelling savour.

⁸ For ye were sometimes darkness, but now light in the Lord: walk as children of light,

¹⁰ But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again, wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.

¹⁹ For what [is] our hope, or joy, or cron of rejoicing? [are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus, at his coming? ²⁰ For ye are our glory and joy.

⁶ But now when that Timothy is come from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also you: ⁷ Therefore, brethren, we are comforted over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith: ⁸ For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we rejoiced for your sakes before our God, ¹⁰ Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

⁶ For if we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: ⁷ But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

⁶ He that saith he abideth in him, ought himself also to walk, even as he walked.

³ For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

³⁴ A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ³⁵ For by this shall all know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

¹² This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

⁹ But as touching brotherly love, we have no need to write unto you: for ye your selves are taught of God to love one another.

¹ Let brotherly love continue.

⁸ And above all things have fervent charity among your selves: for charity covers a multitude of sins.

⁷ And to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity.

⁷ Beloved, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: the old cmmandment is the word which ye have heard. ⁸ Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in us: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

¹¹ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth [them] not abideth in death. ¹⁵ Whosoever hateth his brother, is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

²³ And this is his commandment, that we believe on the name of Jesus Christ himself, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth God, is born of God, and knoweth God. ⁸ He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love. ⁹ In this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. ¹⁰ Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son the propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another, ¹² No one hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

²⁰ If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

¹⁵ If ye love me, keep my commandments.

²¹ He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father: and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him.

¹⁰ If ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I also have kept my Fathers commandments, and abide in his love.

¹⁴ For ye are my friends, if ye shall do what I command you.

⁸ Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another, hath fulfilled the law. ⁹ For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not covet; and if [there be] any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self.

¹³ For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only [use] not liberty for an occasion of the flesh, but by love of the Spirit serve one another. ¹⁴ For all the law is fulfilled in you in one word, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self.

⁵ But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

²⁴ Let that abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning, shall abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.

³ And his commandments are not grievous.

¹⁵ [And] whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

¹⁴ And the Word was made flesh, and pitched his tabernacle among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

¹⁶ And without controversy, great is the mystery [of the word]of godliness: who was manifested in the flesh, justified in Spirit, seen of angels, preached among Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.

¹ But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who privily will bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction, ² And many will follow their filthiness, by reason of whom the glory of truth will be evil spoken of. ³ And through covetousness will they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their destruction slumbreth not.

¹⁸ Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye have heard antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last hour. ¹⁹ They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us; but that they might be made manifest, that they were not all of us. ²⁰ But ye have an unction from the holy One, and ye know all things. ²¹ I have not written unto you, because ye know not the truth: but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. ²² Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? he is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

²⁶ These things have I written unto you, concerning them that seduce you.

¹ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. ² Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God. ³ And every spirit that confesseth [it] not, is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come, and even now already it is in the world.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, who deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

¹⁴ And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth, by those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the wild beast who had the wound by a sword, and did live.

⁴ And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man may deceive you.

²⁴ For there will be raised false Christs, and false prophets, and will shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that if possible the very elect should be deceived. ²⁵ Behold, I have told you before.

⁵ And Jesus answering, began to say to them, Take heed lest any one deceive you. ⁶ For many shall come in my name, saying, I am he: and shall deceive many.

⁹ Afterward they shall deliver you your selves up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten, and ye shall be set before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.

²³ But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

⁸ But he said, See that ye be not deceived: for many will come in my name, saying, I am He, and the time draweth near: go ye not after them.

³⁶ He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth, and he that reapeth may rejoyce together.

⁸ Now he that planteth, and he that watereth, are one: and every man shall receive his own reward, according to his own labour.

¹⁴ If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

⁸ And last of all, he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

⁴ Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain.

¹¹ I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

¹⁵ That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom shine ye as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

¹⁶ Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us be unanimous: let us walk by the same [rule].

³² But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions:

³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

¹⁵ Looking diligently, that no one fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness spring up, with gall, and thereby many be defiled:

¹¹ I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

²⁷ All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no one knoweth the Son but the Father: neither knoweth any one the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].

²² All things are delivered to me of the Father; and, and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is,but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal [him.]

²³ That all should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, neither honoureth he the Father who hath sent him.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. ¹⁷ If any one will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or I speak of my self.

⁶ Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

⁶ If any one abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather it, and cast [it] into the fire, and it is burned.

⁴² And they continued stedfastly in the apostles doctrine at Jerusalem, and communion, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

¹⁰ Neither purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

¹⁴ For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

¹ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works; and of faith towards God;

³ That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

²² Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? he is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark diligently them who cause divisions and scandals, saying or doing things contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. ¹⁸ For they that are such, serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words, deceive the hearts of the simple.

¹¹ But now I have written unto you, not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such an one, no not to eat.

²² If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be anathema, Maran-atha.

⁸ But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. ⁹ As we said before, so say I now again, if any one preach any other gospel unto you, than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

⁶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw your selves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which they received of us.

¹⁴ And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and so have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

⁵ Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away: ⁶ For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

¹⁰ A man that is an heretick, after one admonition, and two reject:

¹¹ For he that biddeth him good speed, is partaker of his evil deeds.

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

²² Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other mens sins: keep thy self pure.

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues:

¹¹ But these things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you might remain, and your joy might be full.

¹² I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

²⁴ Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things I speak in this world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

²⁴ Whensoever therefore I take my journey into Spain, I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with you.

⁵ Now I will come unto you when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I do pass through Macedonia. ⁶ And it may be that I shall abide, that if I shall also winter with you, ye may bring me on my journey, whithersoever I go. ⁷ For I will not see you now by the way, but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.

⁴ Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy:

²² But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.

¹⁹ But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

²³ Know ye, that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
