¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that, whereas ye were the servants of sin, ye have now obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine into which ye have been delivered.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes. ²⁶ Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

³ We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (praying always for you, ⁴ Hearing of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of

⁹ became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey him,

¹⁸ When they heard these things, they were quiet, and glorified God, saying, Then God hath given to the Gentiles also repentance unto life.

¹⁵ And the brethren having heard of us, came out thence to meet us, some as far as Appii Forum, and others to the Three Taverns, whom when Paul saw, he thanked God and took courage.

⁵ By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith in all nations for his name, Among whom are ye also, the called of Jesus Christ:

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ, for you all, that your faith is spoken of through the whole world.

⁸ But to them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be indignation and wrath,

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any thing which Christ hath not done by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Through mighty signs and wonders,

²⁶ But now made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God,

⁴ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Christ Jesus:

⁹ Know ye not, that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, ¹⁰ nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor revilers, nor the rapacious shall inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁴ Now thanks be to God, who causeth us always to triumph through Christ, and manifesteth by us in every place the odour of his knowledge.

⁵ Destroying reasonings, and every high thing which exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, ⁶ And being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, now your obedience is fulfilled.

¹⁶ Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

⁵ through his great love wherewith he loved us, Hath quickened us together with Christ, even when we were dead in trespasses, (by grace ye are saved) And hath raised us up together, ⁶ and made us sit together in heavenly places through Christ Jesus: ⁷ That he might shew in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace, in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace ye are saved through faith; and this not of yourselves: ⁹ it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created through Christ Jesus unto good works, which God had before prepared, that we might walk in them.

³ I thank my God upon every mention of you, ⁴ Always in all my prayers making supplication for you all with joy, ⁵ For your fellowship in the gospel, from the first day until now:

² We give thanks to God always for you all (making mention of you in our prayers, ³ Remembring without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of our God and Father:

⁹ For what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy wherewith we rejoice for your sake before our God?

³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because your faith groweth exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.

¹³ having put me into the ministry, Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and a reviler; but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant, with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the chief. ¹⁶ Yet for this cause I obtained mercy, that on me the chief Jesus Christ might shew all long-suffering, for a pattern to them who should hereafter believe in him to life everlasting.

³ I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with a pure conscience, that I have remembrance of thee in my prayers without ceasing night and day, ⁴ Longing to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; ⁵ Remembering the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; I am persuaded in thee also.

¹³ Hold fast the pattern of sound words, which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

³ For we also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, inslaved to various desires and pleasures, living in wickedness and envy, hateful, hating one another: ⁴ But when the kindness and philanthropy of God our Saviour appeared, ⁵ Not by works of righteousness which we had done, but according to his own mercy he saved us, by the laver of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. ⁶ Which he poured forth richly upon us, ⁷ through Jesus Christ our Saviour, That, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs, according to the hope of eternal life.

⁴ I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, (Hearing of thy faith which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus,

⁸ By faith Abraham, being called to go out into the place which he was to receive for an inheritance, obeyed and went out, not knowing whither he went.

²² Having purified your souls by obeying the truth thro' the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently:

⁹ But ye are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a purchased people, that ye may shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Who in time past were not a people, but now are the people of God;

¹ In like manner, ye wives, be subject to your own husbands, that if any obey not the word, they also may, without the word, be won by the conversation of the wives,

² (for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin) That ye may no longer live the rest of your time in the flesh, to the desire of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the time past of your life sufficeth to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when ye walked in lasciviousness, evil desires, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries. ⁴ Wherein they think it strange, that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, ⁵ speaking evil of you, Who shall give account to him that is ready judge the living and the dead.

¹⁷ For the time is come for judgment to begin at the house of God: but if it begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

⁴ I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in the truth, as we received commandment from the Father.

³ For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came, and testified of the truth that is in thee, as thou walkest in the truth.
