⁴ These are they who had not been defiled with women; for they are virgins: these are they who follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were bought from among men: first-fruits to God and the Lamb.

¹⁹ And a certain scribe came and said to him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.

¹ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like ten virgins, who taking their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom.

²⁸ Take heed therefore to yourselves and to the whole flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

⁵⁷ And as they went in the way, one said to him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. ⁵⁸ But Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests: but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. ⁵⁹ And he said to another, Follow me. ⁶⁰ But he said, Lord, Suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their dead, but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. ⁶¹ And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but suffer me first to bid them farewell that are in my house. ⁶² Jesus said to him, No man having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

¹² Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour.

³⁷ Peter saith to him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

²⁰ And ye are not your own: For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God with your body and your spirit, which are God's.

²⁵ Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment from the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one who hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. ²⁶ I apprehend therefore, that this is good for the present distress, that it is good for a man to continue as he is.

²⁸ Yet if thou dost marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh; but I spare you.

¹⁵ And I beseech you, brethren, as ye know the houshold of Stephanas, that it is the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to serve the saints,

² For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy; for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

¹⁴ Who is an earnest of our inheritance, till the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory.

³ Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.

¹⁸ Of his own will begat he us by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

⁹ But ye are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a purchased people, that ye may shew forth the virtues of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Who in time past were not a people, but now are the people of God;

⁴ Yet thou hast a few names in Sardis, who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: they are worthy.

⁹ And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy art thou to take the book and to open the seals thereof; for thou wast slain and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation,

¹⁵ Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple, and he that sitteth upon the throne shall have his tent over them. ¹⁶ They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. ¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will feed them, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹⁴ These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings; and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
