⁴³ But ye know this, that if the housholder had known, in what watch the thief would have come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open.

¹¹ And having received it, they murmured against the housholder, saying,

⁴⁴ Therefore be ye also ready: for at an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh.

³⁹ And this ye know, that if the master of the house had known, what hour the thief would have come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open.

² For ye yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. ³ When they say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. ⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ Ye are all children of the light and children of the day: we are not children of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep as the others, but let us awake and keep awake.
