³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

¹⁰ And the disciples came and said to him, Why speakest thou to them in parables? ¹¹ He answered and said to them, Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven; but to them it is not given.

³⁶ Then Jesus having sent the multitude away, went into the house: and his disciples came to him, saying, Declare to us the parable of the darnel of the field.

³⁹ The enemy that sowed them is the devil: the harvest is the end of the world; the reapers are the angels. ⁴⁰ As therefore the darnel are gathered and burnt with fire, so shall it be in the end of this world.

⁴⁹ So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just.

¹² Then came his disciples and said to him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees, hearing this saying, were offended?

¹⁹ Then the disciples coming to Jesus apart said, Why could not we cast him out?

¹ And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives,

²⁷ For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even to the west, so shall also the coming of the son of man be.

³² Learn a parable from the fig-tree: when its branch is now tender and shooteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. ³³ So likewise when ye see all these things, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

³⁷ But as the days of Noah, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

³⁹ And knew not, till the flood came and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

⁴³ But ye know this, that if the housholder had known, in what watch the thief would have come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open.

²⁰ Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the world.

³ And as he sat on the mount of Olives, over-against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, ⁴ Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

⁷ And they asked him saying, Master, when shall these things be? And what is the sign, when these things shall come to pass?

²¹ Peter seeing him, saith to Jesus, Lord, what shall this man do? ²² Jesus saith to him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is it to thee?

⁷ But he said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

¹ But of the times and seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write to you. ² For ye yourselves know perfectly, that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. ³ When they say, peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape. ⁴ But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ Ye are all children of the light and children of the day: we are not children of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep as the others, but let us awake and keep awake. ⁷ For they that sleep, sleep in the night, and they that are drunken are drunken in the night. ⁸ But let us who are of the day keep awake, having put on the breast-plate of faith and love, and for an helmet the hope of salvation. ⁹ For God hath not appointed us to wrath, ¹⁰ but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we may live together with him. ¹¹ Wherefore comfort one another and edify one another, as also ye do.

²⁶ For then he must often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once at the consummation of the ages hath he been manifested, to abolish sin by the sacrifice of himself.
